To find a shop that cares that much and will take the time to do the job right the first time are so far and few out there. So many companies half-ass it, lie to you and have their hand out looking for payment for shoddy work. So frustrating. Looking forward to seeing that new sign. 🇨🇦
I finally pulled the trigger and installed a set of Air-Lift 5000 Ultimate with optional dual air compressor on my 2016 F-350 Lariat. I just want to thank you for the review and information. I haul a 2018 Jayco Pinnacle 36 KPTS and when connected it would squat my truck about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Although not a lot I got many oncoming motorists flashed their brights at me due to my headlight aim being off. I noticed two things right off, first no more motorists flashing their brights at me, and secondly, although maybe a bit subjective it just felt more stable going down the road. Thanks again.
I have Firestone air bags and I think I'm going to use air lift next time just for the reason you can have bump stops. I have mine set up on a leveling valve like my f650. I never touch it, it's always at the same height.
Have the same wireless setup on my F350, love it. It works great when towing the 5th wheel. Ever cross a bridge that has a pavement drop off on the other side and get a suspension bottom out? Before the bags I'd cringe thinking I'd break a spring. The bags will resolve that problem. Added bonus when unhooking from a heavy 5th wheel, drop the 5th wheel landing gear until the pads make contact with the ground, then dump the air from the air bags. You can just about drive out without raising the 5er up higher. Your F450 probably won't squat enough under a load for that to work for you though. I think you'll like the on board compressor. You can adjust on the fly for the load and pavement conditions.
Loving your truck more with every video video ya put out. Definitely adding the same stuff when I get my F350. Great job, keep the awesome vids coming!
I have the Firestone with the remote (which is slooooowwww.... ugh) called their help line.... they said, "You just have to be patient and not press the buttons to fast... to this day, a year later, I still haven't got the technique down... lol. Your demonstration of simple press up to go up, down to go down, and how quick the system is, makes me wish I had gone with the Air Lift Company product...
Loving all these add ons. I want to personally thank you for all the extremely detailed videos. You give very good detailed information on things that actually matter to those with trucks that pull heavy and light equipment. Keep up the awesome videos!!
Sounds like those guys do really good work. Always good to here of and see businesses that take the extra amount of pride in what they do and when they go the extra mile for their customers.
I did a similar set up on mine. However, i ran the back up lines to inside the fuel door compartment. Keeps me from drilling into the aluminum and keeps road debris and blown tires from tearing up the lines. I also added a air fitting so i can hook up a hose to pump up tires ect. Nice video, those fellers do nice work.
I believe most people put these on for ride stability, not due to headlight aim. I have never heard someone say "I think I need to install an airbag system because my headlights are blinding others when loaded" Just sayin.....
Me sir i just order a kit cause of the sag on my truck and blinding others on the road they flash me high beams thinking i was using my high beams probably thinking i was been a asshole or something but no more well till i get my kit hahaha
It looked like at least one of your tires is showing cupping. That is a surprise to me as new of a truck that you have and new suspension parts as well. I've had this on a couple of my oldest vehicles from under inflation on one and radical suspension changes on the other.
These parts that you share with us are rite on with things I'd have interest in! The one thing that made me scratch my head on this one is the 5,000LB load rating of this air bag system. While my truck has 6,000LB load capacity in current configuration.
I just fill bags with ryobi portable hand held compressor from any big box store. $19.99 at any home depot and fills the Reese Goosebox and kiddos bikes on a road trip as well.... super convenient since it has built in guage. Its Like it was made for airbags since it takes 10 or 20 seconds tops. These dont hold a lot of air...
Have you ever thought about going with a full air ride rear suspension? Kelderman makes an air suspension the completely replaces your leaf springs and it should ride better even when you’re empty. Plus I’d like to see your review of it.
I'm thinking he doesn't need a dually for the size of his 5'ver. I know it does help with stability in those TX winds but a 2017 or newer SWD F250 would haul that 5'ver. But to each is own, and I'm not bashing you at all. Keep up that great vids.
Love the videos !! I have a 2012 Ram 2500 CCLB CTD 4x4 and it already had Firestone bags on it but manual adjust. Really want to add an on board compressor and tank to control the bags and also add a air chuck for inflation and/or tools at the front and rear of the truck. And yes, they put the lines as the top attachments for the license plate. SMH......Keep up the excellent work and upgrades on the truck!
I mounted compressors in under the seat with a tank and a set up for air tools and yes mine has 2 compressors. I not picking on anybody but I don't quite get why people don't mount there unite out of the muck, road grime etc.
jabojr jabojr - Would you elaborate more on your statement? And in what way are they really unreliable and you say many of his shops where would these shops be>?
Good choice on the air bags. Question: why AirLift instead of Firestone? Love that Plus setup with the stainless steel lines and fittings. Plastic fittings scare me a bit on longevity! Hope you are still enjoying them!
BiggB20042001 I grew up right by Kelderman. Their setup up is made to take a beating! No mall crawler set up. The anti sway bar they use is 2x the size of the oem one. Look past the price. Load leveling no matter what, rides like a caddy loaded or empty. Add on air bags are a cheap alternative IMO.
These look awesome. When is a good litmus for when you could/should bag a vehicle? Just when pulling a 5th wheel, or if you see the back sagging. Or maybe compared to a leveling kit. I am debating on a few options lately, mainly a leveling kit.
Can you make a video on LED HID lights on lifted trucks or non lifted trucks. Trucks that do not have projected headlights or after market will cause a big spread on light on the road and blind on coming traffic or blind cars in traffic. It worst when those brighter lights are turned on for the fog lamps. Is there a texas law that says different?
So I think they ran the stainless from the bag to the Tee, then a short plastic line to the air compressor and plastic to the back-up fill valves... is that correct?
So I have noticed that my front tires on my 2020 f350 are wearing excessively on the outside. Some sites suggest that it is because my truck squats when I have my Momentum 376 hitched. Will air bags help eliminate that wear? Perhaps it is another issue?
Sorry again for the stupid questions... But I am having a shop "Mikes Off Road" in Haltom City Texas install Airlift airbags on my F-250... I wanted the 5000 Ultimate Plus but they pretty much insist that the 7500 XL's are better and they had a few customers complain about the harsh ride the 5000 Ultimate Plus have when driving empty without a load... I can see where the 5000 Ultimate Plus makes total sense because it has the internal jounce bumper and that would be a good thing in case of compressor failure or an air leak. My question is (since you also had experience with the 7500 XL on your previous F-350)... Do the 5000 Ultimate Plus have that bad of a harsh ride when running empty as compared to the 7500 XL's ??? Thanks again for the info!!!
What do you put your pressure at when your pulling your fifth wheel I had mine set at 60psi and the back of my bed scraped the bottom of my fifth wheel I have the same truck and Air Lift 5000
Do you have any thoughts on Daystar's Air Bag Cradle? I'm getting the same bags installed on my 2015 F250 in two weeks and I'm debating installing these cradles.
Does this Airlift give the truck a better ride or does the ride make a difference on the type of shocks or is it still valid to look at doing what you did to your older F450 with the Sulastic Springs? It looks like they do not offer them for the 2017 F450.
When you said no auto-levelling headlights I assumed you meant they don’t do it by themselves without interaction, but do they not even have a dial in the cab to adjust the angle? That’s pretty poor from a vehicle of that type. My SUV has that and I rarely tow or carry anything that is heavy enough to significantly affect the angle.
BTBR, I'm looking into adding this to my 2017 F350 SRW Platinum Short bed. You might have answered this question already but I didn't see any comments below. But, is your compressor connected to any of your up fitter switches, and if not what do you think of a connection to a switch that isn't always hot?
I have a 6 in bds lift on my ram 2500 with rear coil .. so my best bet will be timbren? And I also have a 2013 with leafs but it has a leveling kit (3ft 2rear) will this airbag kit work?
You sold me on the timbren bump stops.. about how they were so much safer and more dependable than airbags, that you didn't trust airbags and they were too dangerous because of their potential to fail. Now airbags are the way to go and you've been using them for years in multiple trucks? Are these videos reviews or 15 minutes commercials?
Why does your f450 not have a f450 rear? That is a Dana 80 not a 135 front loader. U have blocks? My 08 f450 has the spring on the axle to prevent axle rap.
+kknnddx1: Kelderman makes a great suspension replacement kit for trucks. I've never used their kit so I can't comment on how well it works. Perhaps some day
I have a '94 E350 Fleetwood Tioga Motorhome. It is in excellent shape and I plan on having it for some time. I would consider the expense of this set up if it would help with sway and stabilize a bit on highway. Thoughts? Thanks! Dave
10-4 When I bought the Arrow it had the standard Load Range 'D' tires up front (E in back) I put E's all around that helped tremendously in wind and semi passing scenarios. There are several reputable truck shops in Des Moines that are Airlift dealers....I'll look further into this...thanks!
Hey, man... Love your channel! Do you have any recommendations for a suspension upgrade on our 2017 F350 DRW? We full time and tow a 20K beast, and the ride is ROUGH! Rig sits nice and level, so I'm not sure just added airbags are the solution... what are your thoughts on a full air suspension replacement like Kelderman? Would like to smooth out the ride both towing and non-towing. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
Is there a way you can do a video on how a flat bed for a truck is built???? Or show a premade truck bed. I'm trying to figure out if the ball is made with the bed or not.
yooper slots are you referring to the gooseneck ball if so most beds I've seen are built in the bed with a lid on it to hide it not attached to the frame of the truck
pmorris35 yes that is what I'm talking about. Every place we have talked to said he would have to buy the well, door, and hitch. Then pay to have all of it installed.
Good Morning. I have been looking to purchase a similar setup for my 2018 450. According to Air lifts website the kit they have will not work with the factory installed 5th wheel prep. Do you happen to know what changed from 17-18 with regards to this system being installed? Was it necessary for you to make any modifications to the mounting brackets or suspension components? Thanks in advance for your feedback.
FWIW I called and checked it out. Ford changed the rear axle blocks on the F350 and up in 2018. I called Air Lift and they said they would have a kit on the market soon. Waiting myself.....
Something I think would be nice is allowing u to adjust them, such as on my dads 2017 tundra he has the ability to adjust them up and down even if u have squat
+Big Truck Big RV I'm not sure if we're talking about the same thing. The kind I'm talking about is used on every commercial tractor + trailer combo. It only affects the Z axis, maintaining a set distance between your frame and axle as weight to that axle is increased or decreased. In the commercial industry, leveling has more to do with the X (side to side) and Y (front to back, N/A with only rear air suspension) axes. So you can have leveling (individual bag inflation control) without having ride height control.
thomabb: I know what your saying, since they do not act like weight distribution. They simply level the rear of the truck. However, they do focus the center of gravity away from the rear as much, and balance the truck out better.
I have bags on my truck. I agree air bags make for a more stable ride. Now that you have the compressor on your F450, take a trip to the CAT scale with your 5th wheel. Weigh you axles with the bags at 100PSI, then again at 5psi. Your axle weights will not change. The only thing the bags do for the front of the truck is to keep the caster angle where it should be. (And the headlight aim.)
Hey do you ever run more than 5 psi in the bags when not loaded? I leveled my 450 but kind of wish I was about an inch higher in the back now. I’m considering using a 1” lift block on the rear but then I thought maybe if I install these bags, I could just leave 10-15 psi in them to achieve the rear lift. Thoughts?
I installed this kit on my 2015 F350 yesterday and found it leaking air at the stainless steel air connections. In the instructions it says nothing about putting a thread paste on those threads so I didn't. Is that the problem do you think? Do I need to seal those threads? I know you can't answer everyone's questions but I need some input on if this is prob the issue on why it's leaking air
Your neighbors 2 states over can hear that compressor. Why is yours so dam loud? The one on my truck is almost silent. Also your truck has a rake so unless you make it squat much past level you aren't blinding anyone
I've had those on my 3500 for some time, I have never had to use them even with the heaviest loads... F450 I really can't see the need, my 3500 has a 5800 lbs payload what does a F450 have??
👍
Some of us are anxiously waiting on the kit for the 2018 F450....... ;) Hint hint!
Kieffer Bailey how about the 2019 F450?
Careful last 2 times you put airbags on you traded the truck in xD

Live the truck going by at 7:13 lol
akbychoice Got that RB26 swap 😂
That guy was doing 100mph towing a trailer, at least in high speed film. Sounded hilarious
My experience with an F-150 and a fifth wheel is that air bags solve SERIOUS bounce... not payload.
I believe most people put these on for ride stability, not due to headlight aim. I have never heard someone say "I think I need to install an airbag system because my headlights are blinding others when loaded" Just sayin.....

Ram 3500 doesn't have those problems it has air suspension in the rear and adjustable LED headlights. I just have to wait till 2019.😎

Never had headlight issues or ride issues on my 08 F450 with a Carriage with nearly 4000# of hitch weight.
That landscape truck and trailer was hauling butt lol
The manual fill ports might work great in South Texas but I'd run them out to the license plate if I were dealing with snow and/or mud.
truculent I ran them inside the box next to the trailer light plug for that exact reason. Minnesota salt and mud.
You know I love those airbags also. Still waiting for the video where you actually do the work yourself! ;)
:) Uh hum: ruclips.net/video/aTX7U1dp7fw/видео.html
Have you ever thought about going with a full air ride rear suspension? Kelderman makes an air suspension the completely replaces your leaf springs and it should ride better even when you’re empty. Plus I’d like to see your review of it.
The last think you really need is air bags on that F450 given the size of your 5’ver. I think your just addicted to add-ons to your truck.
Ric Bailey: ACCCCCTTUUUALLLY, they do help me point might lights down a bit. I blind the heck out of oncoming traffic when towing the fifth wheel.
I'm thinking he doesn't need a dually for the size of his 5'ver. I know it does help with stability in those TX winds but a 2017 or newer SWD F250 would haul that 5'ver. But to each is own, and I'm not bashing you at all. Keep up that great vids.
I have the 250 and the payload sux for my 33ft 5er. Trading it in for 350

Love this channel, keep up the great content.
😎🇺🇸👍 Hey Buddy! That’s an awesome setup thanks for the great video.
My Ram 2500 came with factory air bags,no springs in back just air bags
Nice system, love your informative videos.
Saw your truck at Walmart the other day!! Looks good 👍🏼
I mounted compressors in under the seat with a tank and a set up for air tools and yes mine has 2 compressors. I not picking on anybody but I don't quite get why people don't mount there unite out of the muck, road grime etc.
It looks great, I wish you mention costs both purchase and installation.
jabojr jabojr: $400 for bags, $500 for Compressor, $350 for installation.
Thank you, wish I lived near Texas, many of your shops are really unreliable. Keep up the good work, Merry Christmas.
Almost forgot to mention, Truck Covers USA has some fantastic covers and tool box combos, but they are pricey.
jabojr jabojr - Would you elaborate more on your statement? And in what way are they really unreliable and you say many of his shops where would these shops be>?
Good choice on the air bags. Question: why AirLift instead of Firestone? Love that Plus setup with the stainless steel lines and fittings. Plastic fittings scare me a bit on longevity! Hope you are still enjoying them!
Great video! I love truck stuff so keep em coming.
Why not go with a kelderman 4 link setup. Best of both worlds. That's what my 350 is getting this spring
isaac toyosi: Don't really want to gut my factory setup and spend $7k for a replacement
isaac toyosi - next year when I get my next truck F450 I'm gonna try that Kelderman 4 link myself. Heard alot of good things about it
BiggB20042001 I grew up right by Kelderman. Their setup up is made to take a beating! No mall crawler set up. The anti sway bar they use is 2x the size of the oem one. Look past the price. Load leveling no matter what, rides like a caddy loaded or empty. Add on air bags are a cheap alternative IMO.

Stop making such an amazing truck. Your making me jealous and wanting to spend the money I don't have lol
Not seeing an update kit on their site.. I have the 2020 F450 and looking for the stainless steel kit.. Any idea or suggestions?
Looks great they did a great Job!! Now what’s next??

with current airbag configuration, on F450... would one be able to pull easy a fully loaded 40 ft container weight over 70,000 lbs...thanks
Damn. I didn't know Dominick toretto was running around Texas these days.
So I have noticed that my front tires on my 2020 f350 are wearing excessively on the outside. Some sites suggest that it is because my truck squats when I have my Momentum 376 hitched. Will air bags help eliminate that wear? Perhaps it is another issue?

Mike Bloomberg adds on your channel! Seriously...
So is this the answer to which is better between timbriens and air bags in your opinion?
BTBR, I'm looking into adding this to my 2017 F350 SRW Platinum Short bed. You might have answered this question already but I didn't see any comments below. But, is your compressor connected to any of your up fitter switches, and if not what do you think of a connection to a switch that isn't always hot?
Have You Done ✅ a Video On the FORD F-650 Super Pick-Up Sir?
I have a 6 in bds lift on my ram 2500 with rear coil .. so my best bet will be timbren? And I also have a 2013 with leafs but it has a leveling kit (3ft 2rear) will this airbag kit work?

Aside from air bags being able to help you adjust the load in the rear, do the bags produce any better handling over timbrens?
I like your truck 👌
great video
I lost my remote is there an app I can download to control the bags from my phone please help
Nice setup! How about finned aluminum differential covers?
Must be nice to be on the GIVE program...
Why does your f450 not have a f450 rear? That is a Dana 80 not a 135 front loader. U have blocks? My 08 f450 has the spring on the axle to prevent axle rap.
2008-2010= Dana S110/130 2011-2014= Dana 80 2015-2016= Dana S130 2017+ Dana M300
Why would they go with a M300? How do I fined out if I have a 110 or 130? I looked on it and it had 135S on it? It also has 4.88s
Can ot install on navara np300? Coil spring version
Damn man you are loaded. 3 trucks within a few years. For sure lost more than 10g in taxes. What is your actual job?
How does this systems compare to the Ram’s factory air system on the 3500 dually?
another great video, thanks!
I prefer hands free so still a Timbrens guy
you should do a video on deletes and tunes
Lane Blount: Coming soon.....kind of
Yes tunes! Dyno testing with each tune
how are your thoughts on the kelderman air ride suspension? I know it’s more expensive than the air lift but is it worth it?
+kknnddx1: Kelderman makes a great suspension replacement kit for trucks. I've never used their kit so I can't comment on how well it works. Perhaps some day
How’s the ride quality w/out a load
Air lift is what i have also good video.
I have a '94 E350 Fleetwood Tioga Motorhome. It is in excellent shape and I plan on having it for some time.
I would consider the expense of this set up if it would help with sway and stabilize a bit on highway.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Kelderman is nice but very expensive. Might want to check out Sulastic Shackled paired with Airbags.
Awesome! Will look into that! Yea.. found Kelderman's vid for stock height F350 and he said about $9500 installed!
here is what you need. sulastic.com/sa-06hdf-sulastic-shackle-for-rear-axle?make=FORD&model=F-350&year=2017&motor=&viewmode=list
here are some videos of them installed on my previous 2016 F450: ruclips.net/video/smGdMu2zzUw/видео.html

Thanks! I'll check those out later today.
Maybe put compressor in tool box
Why did you go with airlift over Firestone?
A truck like that has no headlight adjustment?......like the Titan XD?
Is there a way you can do a video on how a flat bed for a truck is built???? Or show a premade truck bed. I'm trying to figure out if the ball is made with the bed or not.
yooper slots are you referring to the gooseneck ball if so most beds I've seen are built in the bed with a lid on it to hide it not attached to the frame of the truck
pmorris35 yes that is what I'm talking about. Every place we have talked to said he would have to buy the well, door, and hitch. Then pay to have all of it installed.
Canada!!!....LOL...Nice! (I'm Canadian)
Kieffer Bailey Thanks for the info! I appreciate it
Something I think would be nice is allowing u to adjust them, such as on my dads 2017 tundra he has the ability to adjust them up and down even if u have squat
Why did you go with the Airlift 5000 UP over Airlift 7500 XL ??? Do the 5000 UP have a better ride quality?
No, they have the internal joust bumpers which I wanted.
What make / model window vent visors do you have installed? They look nice. Any negatives to having these installed? Thanks!
C M: APC Seamless. Love them
APC? Can't find them.
how much does it cost to fill your truck
So... Are you going to add the Sulastic shackles to this truck?
+Dennis De Ville: more than likely.
And now i have decided to sell it 😂😂😂
Great vid! Could I ask why you chose this system over one with an automatic ride height control valve?
+Joe Clark: I've been warned to avoid auto leveling systems as they can be thrown on by hard braking as well as elevation and slope
3:05 = Common misstatement, air bags do not transfer weight to the front axle.
thomabb they can help to keep from taking weight off the front axle.
How?
thomabb: I know what your saying, since they do not act like weight distribution.
Love your videos, by the way. Also appreciate your participation on the FTE forum.
Thoughts?
+James C:Not sure 15-25 PSI will raise it 1". Probably closer to 55lbs
Big Truck Big RV does it ride bad at 55lbs unloaded?
Rams have them from the factory.
Scott Johnson: as a $1600 option
How much was this set up????
Model number specific to your truck
Would I need this if I'm using a weight distributing hitch?
+Preligen Manaois: possibly. Depends if your hitch can level the truck out on its own.
Yes, you should always use thread tape or thread lock on air connections.
@@BTBRVReviews Big thanks!...Will do
Your neighbors 2 states over can hear that compressor.
+Scott Vallie: my payload capacity as configured is 4510lbs.
