The RAM Quad Cab that you said was deficient because it did not have a full-size backseat is a long-bed work truck. I have a Quad Cab RAM Express with the 6’4” bed. If you put a tool box in the bed of a short-bed truck - it will eat up the space such that you don’t have much usable bed area left. And putting a long-bed on a full-size cab makes it ridiculously long and difficult to manage in parking lots. FYI. It’s a Quad-Cab for a reason.
A bunch of “smaller” Dealerships around South Texas RGV have been bought by the bigger dealerships. We use to have around 10-15 different dealer franchises, now it’s mostly the same 3 selling different manufacturers
I recently got a 2024F150 STXblack for 38k well under MSRP. I guess you just have to find better dealers to get better prices. Also I appreciate you pointed out the real reason for these disgusting prices. Yeah some is inflation but most of these price hikes, in most sectors, is corporate greed.
No it's 100% inflation. If you want to know how much is inflation and how much is greed just look at housing prices. Vast majority of housing is owned by people still, not corporations, so regular people set the prices. So if housing is up the same as new cars you know it's inflation and not a couple big manufacturers spontaneously deciding now is the time to start making money.

The corporations don't control inflation they just experience it. Can't lower prices because the costs are already up 60%. But can't keep prices high because the consumer is broke. Nothing they can do. They milked the free stimulus money while they could, they would have been stupid not to, but the money is gone. If they didn't raise prices and milk it they would still be in this exact same position just with less money in the bank.
I just picked up a 24 F250 with the 6.8, STX package, for 54 and some change out the door. Tax, title, plate, etc. The Tremor next to it was right around 80 grand with the zilla. I couldn't be happier with my truck, and I would never spend anywhere near 100k on a truck, personally.
The quality is so terrible on every manufacturer now that lot rot is a real thing to look for. The dealers are now marking up also by spraying undercoating to cover the rust and convince the customer that it's a really good thing. Look for fresh undercoating, it's apparent and a disguise.
Do an article on Harley Davidson. You'll find 2 years old units on the showroom floor that they still want full list price on. If not more. In addition to that, you'll find aftermarket bling, not Harley Davidson parts, installed. As well as the markups to reflect that.

Maybe , hear me out , just maybe all their vehicles are just to damn expensive anymore . Just a thought . I’m not an expert or anything
You would be correct sir!
Every year they put a new bumper and grill and charge 2500-5000 more dollars, for like last 10 years almosr…. Absolutely insane
A 50% discount off MSRP will put them where they were selling in 2019 before the plandemic. That's where they NEED to get to start selling Trucks again.
Yup, like we saw in 2015. I'm expecting 50% off sales in the next 8 months
No id say $15 k off sticker
Exactly
50% off is only possible in a deep recession with zero demand like back in 08
@@michalp2362 nah 2015 here in Canada. And it is a deep recession
If sales went down 19% and the price went up 56%, then they are still in profit, we are just too poor to afford this brand.
I'll just join in the chorus here. When the prices drop by 40 to 50%, that's when I might start looking again.
Lol, get comfortable....
NO WAY ! I'm so happy with my 20 year old truck , the various repairs Ive done combined with some body work to keep it looking good costs me peanuts , compared to spending what these new trucks cost ! ABSOLUTELY NOT !
That's why I still drive my 2003 Tundra. Bought it new for $28,500. Best vehicle I've ever owned!
Right with you. My issue is my crusty 99 Silverado is about done. I thought I was ahead of the game keeping the old truck going but its replacements is ~55k now. No way. BUT, I need a truck.
My dad loves his 2001 ford f150 and he definitely has enough for a newer truck but he doesn't want to he thinks it's a waste of money

Thank you for keeping it real and not letting these dealership gaslight people into thinking 50k trucks are normal. This shit is ridiculous. The price of the trucks and suvs need to be in the 30k range. I’m holding onto my 15 Altima until the engine dies 🤷🏾♂️
Better keep on discounting this overpriced junk.😊
Why not make more money and not worry about the price of goods and services?

The working man’s vehicle now at CEO prices
There is also some to be said about instant depreciation of expensive $80k vehicles, like $20k after 1 year ownership.
50% after 3 years
Don't even think about buying a new truck. Let the steepest depreciation be someone else's problem.
Went to my Dodge Ram Dealer Lot today. Base Price was 59 K. With ad on's ...including a Cummings Diesel it was 83 K. I was the only soul on the Lot. 4 salesmen were 600 ft. away. Huge lot...endless inventory. Lot Rot in the Hot sun happening. Just not going to drop prices. Just slowly going for another Gov. Bailout. And what may I ask you to the Sunbaked Inventory ? I'm in my 70's,...and it dawned on me. Never going to afford a new vehicle as the Greed Meter approaches Midnight.
Who the F can afford cars at 50g and up????---- yeah the rich
you are either a pavement princess or a nuke welder and i trust nuke welders to be smart enough to get a silverado for 30-40k
Lots of people can without being rich... they get suckered into 10 year high interest loans.
Grandma will co-sign. The loan will outlive her. Don’t forget to upgrade the rims and tires. You need a truck to impress your clients that you are a top notch handyman whose prices are justified.
@@OSheaGlobalAlliances I would write out of the will the man who cosigns for one of these clunkers
Really yall? I just got a 24 f250 stx for 54 out the door, ttl. My interest rate was 2.9%. Not as low as it used to be, but the same as when I was a kid in the 90s.... I agree these trucks are expensive, but also there's some "the sky is falling" bs in all the comments on here....
I love these collapse videos, when I go to the dealerships in california they’re still trying to charge markups
Blame yourself if you pay too much.
Stupid runs rampant in the world
How is this a surprise to anyone? Prices are absolutely ridiculous!!
Lots full of shitboxes that look worse than trucks from 10 years ago and are less reliable but they want double the price. bought an 18 f150 sport 4x4 for 38,000 and the trans has failed at 70k miles 😂

These abusers can keep there product. not worth the price they sell those truck.
And reliability is down big time. Add in lot rot and you've spent $55K on a ticking time bomb.
My mom bought her brand new 2009 Ram Crew cab for 40,000…. Now you’re paying 70-80+ for the same trim level!
Did they actually believe many can afford an 85 k truck that is not even fully loaded top of line. Crazy....
Companies are buying fleets of new vehicles at these prices no problem. It’s only hourly wage people that cant afford them.
Whats wild is 5 years ago you could a work truck trim for about 28k 32 if you wanted 4x4. Now i dont think anyone even makes that trim line anymore. Give me manual windows and locks, wash out floors and thats it
I haven't seen any massive discounts, in my area! Of course, my idea of a big discount, is probably way different, than what the dealership is offering. When dealerships are offering 30k off, on their 3500 diesels, they'll have my attention!
A dealer in my area is discounting a Ram 2500 bighorn 15K calling it a good deal. Window was 75K selling for 60K. Not a bad price, but come off another 5K you’ve got my attention.
@@adamjohnson4117 This is evidence there are good deals out there though. A lot of the comments in here are bs.....
I went to a Ford/ Dodge/ Jeep dealership to test drive 2 different vehicles. They were packed and I had an appointment with a sales person and had to wait because they were so busy. It might be slow , but that's not what I saw !
Domestic trucks ALWAYS sold at 20% below msrp. When did people forget that??
I wish I lived where you are! Our truck prices are as high as they’ve ever been! No big discounts here. I’m in northeast PA.
Ram has 2023 models that’s nothing my dealership still had 5 2022 rams
I was at a Ram dealer in Indianapolis getting my 2015 1500 repaired. I walked the lot and they still had new unsold 2022 trucks there.
These large corporations have forgotten the law of economics. Do that at your own peril.
Except taxpayers are on the hook lol
I just picked up a 24 F250 with the 6.8, STX package, for 54 and some change out the door. Tax, title, plate, etc. The Tremor next to it was right around 80 grand with the zilla.
I couldn't be happier with my truck, and I would never spend anywhere near 100k on a truck, personally.
eff all dealerships for all brands
Been seeing videos like this for years now and the prices do nothing but go up. Some collapse.
These videos are made for easy RUclips money. Like the housing market videos.
The quality is so terrible on every manufacturer now that lot rot is a real thing to look for. The dealers are now marking up also by spraying undercoating to cover the rust and convince the customer that it's a really good thing. Look for fresh undercoating, it's apparent and a disguise.
i am still looking for this collapsing truck prices and nowhere to be seen here in Maryland. I won’t hold my breathe 😢
They make these videos for the views and comments. Truck prices are going up every year.
Do an article on Harley Davidson. You'll find 2 years old units on the showroom floor that they still want full list price on. If not more.
In addition to that, you'll find aftermarket bling, not Harley Davidson parts, installed. As well as the markups to reflect that.
I warmed up to the bmw cruisers
Yea well Harley Davidson riders (99%) will still buy it since they think those bikes are the greatest thing to hit the market
When you go from
Making average vehicles for an average price to making slightly below average vehicles for outrageous prices it starts to show.
These car manufacturers have to realize that consumers only have so much money to go around.

Only for hourly wage workers. They can only buy used vehicles.
Looking to buy a Colorado Z71 right now and I’m tired of going to dealerships. They’re literally just looking for a way to rip you off and are not willing to negotiate a fair price.
Those that need a vehicle, typically buy used. Those that want a vehicle, buy new! Then there are those folks, who have to keep up with the Joneses!
I realized the price of the truck barely matters, I call one dealer and they tell me $1400 per mo and then call another for the same price and spec truck and get $800 per mo. Dealers are getting too greedy and destroying the truck market further.
This is great news, they have outpriced themselves with pop can medal and plastic through out the vehicle. Another thing is if you are lucky you will make it pass the warranty. Recalls with no parts to fix them.
I will give Ford 100 dollars for a truck just 4 easy payments of 25 dollars
Very good video. You just gained a subscriber.
I have a 2012 charger, I want to upgrade to a truck but man even the used lot is wild.. even 4Runners have ran wild
It’s simple, if prices went up 58%, bring them down 58%
Everything went up 60%. Prices aren't coming down. The profits were temporary post-stimulus spending but the spending is gone, the easy money is gone, the wages are up, all the other expenses are up, and they're already losing money.
Good time to buy. I just got a 25 RAM 4x4 for 36k. That's about 30% off MSRP.
They are tanking because the Average truck buyer can't afford the price
So where all them salespeople that were talking sht after Covid selling overpriced sht saying oh well that’s the market for you is this the market now 😂
Yes. Line go up, line go down. Specifically, consumer savings go up with free stimmy money, consumer savings go down with inflation.
That’s a big reason why I got a gmc canyon 23 evaluation rwd ; in may 2024! Msrp around $40k and discount took me around $34.5k. I was looking at maverick to save some money, but getting a better tow capacity, I had to get awd and all the packages took me to $39k for the maverick, so I was able to get get a new canyon with a more capable truck at dang near the same price. Blows my mind how these manufacturers price things these days!
People spending almost 100k for a truck must be brain dead
Jaguar f type money
$45k for a 2wd extended cab base model is ridiculous. In 2014 my dad bought a brand new 2015 Silverado; 4WD, V8, Z71 & tow package fully loaded for that trim level for $50k out the door.
Ram is charging $45k for what is MAYBE a $28k truck.
Where did these folks get the idea"Oh, we aren't selling hot dog at $1.00, let's raise the price to $5.00 that will increase sales."
Well first of all they sold millions of hotdogs at $5 already. Secondly the cost of the hotdog is $4 now so there's no point selling for $3 it's better to just go bankrupt.
I live in Texas and none of the Mavericks I saw were at MSRP. EVERY one of them had a massive markup. That's why they're sitting on the lots, rotting away...
PS: I can't believe this dealer is offering incentives on GM pickups. I've looked for TWO years and none of the dealers in my state are offering incentives or budging on prices. GMC Canyons are still an obscene $49,000 and they never ever have more than three on the lot. I am serious. I checked five dealers and saw a total of barely 12 Canyons.
In Houston I get to see them budge on price they are trying to maximize profits before the fall
I’m in Beaumont. Been checking websites out there waiting to see some good deals.
I paid 49k for my 2020 ram, crew cab, big horn with the 5.7 and upgrade equipment package. Traded it in 5 months ago for 23k... That hurt because I thought trucks keep value but not if they're over inflated to buy in the first place.
Prices going up 👍, quality going down 👎
I bought a new 2023 f-150 xl super crew for $40k last year. Base model. 2.7l with vinyl seats and floors. Great truck.
