God I wish I didn't have 35 years in driving because I could go back to the beginning and be cool like these kids. In our day we had real 2 sticks and 85 wasn't just a number on the Speedometer.
To bad what has happened
We working smarter not harder old timer
😂😂😂 looks good but I hear ya , l like my selector switch personally
yep....iIm with you...I had a REAL 2 STICK...5 & 4 and it took skill to work them.1980 kw 900 with walk-in sleeper. My gawd you actually had to shift, and if you got both boxes in neutral going down the road you better know what you are doing or else you come to a stop and start all over again. And to the "working smarter not harder" remark....get an automatic. Just sayin.....
Could you imagine pulling 75 ton up a logging Rd with that shifter??
Where did you get that 13 with the big hole up against the dash? Is it something you have to rebuild like that or can you get them factory like that?
I get it, it's cool, it's different, but I haul heavy equipment in local traffic all day and I prefer my splitters right on one stick where my middle finger and thumb can flip them.
You live in the real world, not the world of Johnny Big Rigger.
Play a d on it
How in the wild, wild world of sports can he see over the dash ?
That's the best anti-theft system I've ever seen. NO ONE is gonna steal this rig.
Like butter, smooth as glass I'm jelly.
His Christmas list be icy hot for his shoulder and a booster seat.
😂😂😂
Oh ya asphalt therapy! Seat down turbo spooled. Goin for the roll!
How do you see past the steering wheel?
Also, very impressive shifting
Impresive but talk about sitting low
Can you show us the truck it must be sick
Who cares what he runs over he’s cool....my god we’re screwed
He's a professional driver.
Knows exactly where his truck is and what's around it.
I'm drooling over here. God do I want that.
Can’t see Over the wheel, shifting 2 transmission, smoking a cigarette, listening to 80s rock. My dream job!
You sittin cool on your stool driver. That thing sure sounds gooood.
....this shifting is sooooo awesome....like the boots on the floor and the music BRO‘ ....... GREAT !!!!!!!!
Soooooooo am I the only one noticed that the camera cuts off right before he has to downshift?🤔 anybody can shift up but can you DOWNSHIFT that damn thing CMOOOOOOOON
This video is so perfect. Love the Def Leppard!
Damn that truck sound amazing
MOTOR Sounds AWESOME & PURRIN with THROATY TURBO WHISTLE!!!! Like the 2 STICK SET-UP as WELL!!!!😎🙂💪🏾👌🏾👍🏾✌🏾👊🏾👐🏾🙌🏾🤙🏾
Dam it's like the first fast and furious movie those cars had 125 gears
Love that turbo whistle
That some smooth shifting
That does look pretty cool. Would rather have 2 boxes. An actual 6x4, but this does look pretty cool.
Sweet ride brother.....the hell with all the dumb comments bout your seat being low..... drive it the way you are comfortable.
Seen the other guy wit 3 sticks....i thought about this set up and here it is.
My first thought after seeing this is the old saying about a “fool and his money are soon parted”.
So im not that only one that drives in my socks lol 🤘
I think it's funny these guys put in a 2 stick in a modern day truck....they need to drive the real thing like we did in the day
We put a 6 and 4 in a kw with a 624 Cummins. 4 speed didn't make it a month before bearing went out. To much torque. Had to have it built and ran it for a while like that before an oiler let loose and windowed the block
can't hardy find them anymore and they don't make them anymore but, they sure
gave you a lot of other shift options on RPM ranges for fuel mileage
I started 40 years ago in a true twin stick B-61 1965 Mack. This is just a toy with the splitter. I love my 18 that I have now.
I was interested in these but, when seeing how far that stick goes to the passenger seat n the price tag I'll stick with my splitter on the stick.
Awesome engine sound, man!!! Love it!
I sit that low because it's easier on my back and I can still see ahead of me
how can you see ??
there is noway you see anything within 10-15 ft from truck
@@zaidchalabi1599 I still see everything
Let’s be honest here you ride the floor because it’s the “cool” trucker thing to do
@@cw4558I don't care about being cool . I don't because my legs are at a slight angle which isore comfortable. It's not all the way on the ground but it's low .
@@zaidchalabi1599 can't see 10 to 15 feet in front of a lot of those long noses to begin with
Bad ass...👍. Smoking a cig. and gear jamming...Old school....
Kinda cool reminds me of my old 359. LOL
Looks like a 13 or 15 speed with 2nd stick for hi low range and direct and overdrive I drove alot of 2sticks that is not a set of boxes
Definitely not like the 2 stick mack I used to drive.
It's just a big gay toggle switch
Kind of thinking of shifting a 15 speed with a splitter switch or am I missing something
@@jlong7696 is this shoot gun from Detroit Texas

Hope they bring them back.
Asi es ..the best sound saludos desde la baja california
Cowboy boots on the passenger floor, Def Leppard on the stereo.
damn i wished i had one back in early 90’s was always hanging up my worn out aux. Wished we could hear it shift without stereo playing
cigarette out the window awesome
Wish guys would quit throwing butts out the window its a fire hazard. Get an ash tray like everybody else
Wow I have an actual 6 and 4 transmissions in my 71 needle you gotta be on your game to shift it
Ya not these fake twins
Virginia Palmer
Yea I’m only 45 and not a trucker but a tech amongst other things.
Point is , back when I was a kid and got a summer job I learned a lot from an old timer.
His best advice to me was:
Kid, work smaatah not haadah.
He said it that way cause he was an Italian from nyc 😬
Haha let’s make work.
But these old Spicer 6x4 and 5x4. Won't hold up to the high torque these newer engine put out. The older truck had the twin boxes to help pull better since back I the day truck only see 900 ft pounds of torque. Now days they have over 2000 ft lbs torque. From what I understand the old Spicer will not hold up to modern engine. I may be wrong but I seen it done b4 with a buddy of mine that did the swap and that Spicer exploded in the hills.
Joe Humphreys my brother had a 359 with a 3408 cat and a 5x4 and that engine makes way more torque than 900 foot pounds in fact I haven’t seen any new trucks run with the old cats in the hills
They will hold up you just gotta baby them.....
SUBSCRIBED 😎🤘
Large car riding like a boss 🇺🇸
Riding like a dumbass
Tom getting after it!
His right arm will always be bigger than his left now 🤣
Okay, so the two air valves on the main box stick are removed and the air lines are redirected to a floor mount air valve that allows a second stick to work the hi/lo range and the splitter. Seems more like eye candy than real world practicality not to mention a potential reliability and high replacement cost issue. But, I get it... some people are more into form than function. $35.00 for a new Eaton/Fuller air shift controller handle vs. $1400.00 for a floor mount setup just to impress your friends and look cool.
seabulls69 yup....simple things amuse simple minds
Yea.. I’ll stick with my 18 speed stock eaton fuller setup... that’s interesting enough when loaded...
Well it's his so he's going to do what he wants with it. If you paid attention, it's less boring for him to have that extra movement for his arm.
@@jamieshaffer6493 Clearly.
Kinda like the guys who get their sticks extended until it's head height. Looks stupid but they like it right?
I see natural reflexes & instinct, this man is at boss level; thumbs up
Congratuletion my friend.
Saludossss artista De un colombiano 🇨🇴 desde 🇪🇸 España👍👍. Eres un crack con esos fierros...
Correct me if I'm wrong but the second stick is the low & high racho plus your overdrive am I correct, while the first stick is your gears
These cats don't realize that having the seat down low helps with blood circulation in your legs in the long run...
Did anyone notice the def leppard in the back ground
Bad ass huh
Dallas Gilliam do you know if there is any way you know what time we will have
Dsvid I wake I have been trying for letting me have been trying for your time 😂
Thanks for letting me have been trying for letting me have the mail to get a new call
Wildcard the mail I sent it I have a new phone I have a few questions for your help in this I sent it to be in your arms right away so I
So it's a fancy 13speed. Got it
Other than looks ,what is the purpose of taking two extremely convenient air switches off the shifter and adding another stick? It's still not a true two box setup.
Because it's cool stupid
I once took the shifter off used a steer wheel 8 ball to make a knob, mounted the shifter beside the seat with nice chrome setup so I could hi low my 10 speed with my heel. Just to have something different
Interesting but I’ll take my 6 and 4
I’m with you on this one, but I like a 5 and 4 a little better for some reason.
I don't get putting the splitter and range selector on a stick. Isn't there enough silliness on the road already without adding to it?
Two separate gear boxes that how some used to be
Good point Darrell.
Where did that 13 speed come from with the big hole up against the dash?
The old H pattern.😎
That’s not an H pattern, that’s a U pattern.
When you get used to driving extended hood trucks you can kind of tell where everything is at
Nice pointy boots in the foot well
Sweet rig driver great music as well 💯% keep on truckin👍
So the longer shifter is for splitting/high gear selector 🤔
So no passengers allowed Because of that 2nd stick huh, your vision is impaired because you can't see over the steering wheel but good choice in music
Big hole on the dash 💯 😎. Triple digit truck
I want one
Too late.. too late.. Def Leppard!!!
You make this look easy .i still can't understand, how you know which gear your in
You don't have the boots off and the flipflops on do you ? Just checking.
Why not just put in a real 4 speed auxiliary 🤣
Glad to see 4state doesn’t discriminate, and they hire Midgets!
That’s awesome.
That whistle sound of cummins is just too orgasmic
Quando o sujeito colocar a última marcha , ele já chegou no destino....😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
What's up with taking outta gear just to put it back in?
I part out a lot of older trucks and the old GM's and IH trucks with the auxiliary transmissions are my bread and butter, everyone wants a "brownie box" but seems pointless to me, I keep selling them though so what do I know
well just speaking for myself , when demoing old structures at an older old gold mine . working for a metal recycling outfit , That old KW with 3406 mechanical motor ,ten spd and a 4 Brownie with a a couple hundred thousand lbs on the trailer in i iron climbing out the hole that Brownie made the pull effortless . The old KW would do the watermelon crawl in tenth and brownie in low
How does the passenger feel about it?
Darren Greiner
You don’t transport lot lizards so it’s fine.
@@MrTheHillfolk It's all just a bit of a wank & a show pony accessory in my opinion. Nothing wrong with a plain old RoadRanger knob, one stick, a range change & O'drive/Direct buton. I just don't understand how it makes it a better driving experience. As I said, might look fine in a show truck, but I'm pretty sure i'd throw a shoulder out if I had to use it day in day out. But hey, to each their own.
Real good, if it's a lady.
Been slapped on knee by those things in light duty trucks. Good thing there's no middle seat..........
What is that a new forward mount selfie stick? 😁 The driver didn't have enough of his own stick to play with?
If you want your hands full I suggest the 1974 R400 model Mack I learned to drive on with the twin stick and manual trans and no AC. She'll keep ya busy
That's the truck you had to slam you're finger in the door and drive it pissed off😁😠
C-15 cat 13 overdrive chingona
Chuka Quintero only the best
Can you tell me what the serial is on this transmission? 18918b with last 2 flopped around?
great video I love it
So let me get this straight, does this modern truck have a main and auxiliary transmission, or is it some type of torture device. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to shift that much.
Laugh my asss off. Torture device same. Here. I will just stick to my 8LL. Drove the tri and quad in 80s. We dont need them back. Roadranger does just fine. Looks like some kind of mack torture. But surely dont sound like a mack
If you listen good i think the right shifter is just a purple broom handle. Cuz it certainly dont change nothing
@@toddreynolds8875 that changes the split I believe, then it would change when he moves the left stock again.
It just has the air actuated range selector and gear splitter taken out. Converted to full mechanical operation
Ooooh
I'm going to state the bleedin obvious here, " how can you drive if you can't see over the dash?" surely the seat goes higher.
It’s easy. Open your eyes and look.
Sit low, don't bounce around all day! And your legs don't hurt but everyone has their own way neither is wrong!!!
Why no down shifting?
Is that just typical gopro distortion or is the dashboard really that tall? It looks like the driver can barely see
How does he see over the dash?
That’s a sweet sounding truck. Is that a caterpillar engine in your truck.
I'm 6' tall and sitting low helps my back never hit a fucking thing..
Is the other shifter the gear range and the splitter together. Trying to figure out how he is shifting. I know he is skip shifting.
Steven L yes. Both switches from the factory stock knob are now on the right side stick. Basically all for looks
And he isn't skip shifting. He has an old school top plate installed so it gives it a U pattern instead of your normal H
15 speed double over
That's how drivers drive who have experience double stick and low in the seat sitting high in the seat puts strain on your knees
Screw that crap. I have an ol skool 9 speed & it definitely gets the job done.
..ain't nothing cool bout a 9 speed straight truck
Dammit boi I likes that
HE'S WHATCHA CALL A FREAKIN PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!
Dats pretty damn neat.... What trans is it
You got a periscope on that rig?
i have driven, 4 x 4 , 5 x 4 , and 6 x 4 , the brownie in these scenarios will have a reversed " H " pattern with the 3 and 4th hole, i do not see this in what you are operating here. please explain what are the transmissions you are operating in this K.W.
ZIONISIM KILLS it's a 13 or 18 speed. Instead of having the air splitter on the original shift knob, it's been relocated to the stick on the passenger side. All it is, is just a fancy air valve setup to split your gears
Damn... How does he see anything in front of him?
What are you sitting on the floor for?
So the regular 10-13 Eaton just dont cut it huh. I'm honestly confused by this how does it work.
Israel REEFER!!! That is a regular 13. Or an 18. The splitter and range selector is the stick to the right.
Looks like you need a booster seat there bud.
Serious question... I noticed when going to from high to low range with the AUX shift stick, you also actually took the real shifter out of and put it back in the same gear. If this is just showing off your selector switches as a gear shift, would taking your foot off the gas and back on the pedal not work the way it does with standard single sticks?
Looks like this happen about the 3:20 mark. It’s possible that just lifting off the throttle could allow the splitter to make it’s shift. I can only assume that this driver has found his shifting style to work better for him and his truck in this case.
I used to work for a guy who shifted his standard 1 stick 13 exactly like this. Would flip splitter and slide stick to neutral and bring it back. Never asked him why, just the way he did it.
@ Yleprachaun hey i used to drive an oilfield flatbed truck that we used to move oil rig equipment from location to location. This truck had an eaton fuller 18 speed with an old cummins engine. I used to slide the spliter in high or low and then pop the shifter into neutral and back into the same gear, instead of letting off the gas pedal to allow it to shift on its own because for some reason the trans would not catch the gear. It felt like it was just grinding. I think maybe the tranny was worn out somewhere and that affected the way it shifted. I noticed that if i shifted by popping the gear stick in neutral and back to the gear it would NEVER grind as long as i did my part and floated at the correct rpm. Although occasionally it would shift correctly without grinding by letting iff the gas, i did it to avoid the grinding just in case. After driving that truck i just got in the habit of shifting every truck that way. It works flawlessly every time
I shift this way also. My first truck I bought had worn synchronizers in the transmission, floating the stick out, and back in just stuck, I still shift this way today.
If I'm looking at this correctly it's an 8spd matted with a hi low direct whts the actual shift pattern because wht I can see it's an 18spd split makes no sense to me will someone plz explain.
Here is a video that explains the shifting pattern: ruclips.net/video/PHJ19yY0CiI/видео.html
You need to get a booster seat!
You would hafta take the passenger side door off, if it was a 379... LOL
