That is a good video on the right way to shift twin boxes. I wish more drivers would take pride in the way they drive. I would also like to see some more trucking content. Also, I am an owner operator of over forty years so I have seen a lot of supposedly truck drivers that were not. Good video.

Good shifting - very smooth. That's how it should be done... not just banging the gears hard and shoving it in. It's all about timing, and matching road speed to the revs. Well-done! A full load just slows every movement down a little bit.

This is my brother from another and this truck is sweet!!! I had been driving a little while before he got this truck and of course being family we’ve took turns driving the other ones trucks but let me just tell ya a week or so after he got this big large and in charge unit home he tells me come see what I think about and I’m here to tell you right now and it may just be me and I’m over thinking the shifts or over complicating the shifts but I tell ya right now true twin sticks are a whole other ball game and I have drove nearly every single stick transmission there is from a 8ll to a ten speed to a super ten speed to a thirteen speed to a 15 over and yes it’s just considered over there’s no such thing as a 15 double over and then lastly a 18 speed but true twins are a lost art form and they take incredible skill to shift as smooth as he does and I’m lucky he’s just as good at changing um from the passenger seat or boy oh boy let me tell ya I’d a stayed under that truck getting the transmissions uncrossed lol but good video bubba keep tossin them sticks and chewing them tooth picks lol

Yeah. Tell him to stop the 3rd gear nonsense. It is too hard on the clutch and driveline. Especially for trainer. Have him start in 1st like it or not. Maybe 2nd if empty. You can feel it isnt right so why do it. As far as arm wrestling the gearshift, you need to teach by example. If you shift nice and smooth, he should too. Here, I'll do it first and show you that you dont need force to get a gear in. Click/click. One, two. Now you do it. Grab the stick out of his hands if you have to. I used to teach shifting at a truck driving school.

    No thank you
    I’ll take my S-10
    My dad drove these
    I started driving in 97
    I now have a 2021 Automatic Volvo D13 and I don’t even wanna ever go back to a S-10
But much respect to those who still drive these dinosaurs for some reason

I would assume so I don't know what it would be from ordering a truck a dealership standpoint but I know if you wanted to put a two stick in a truck now that didn't come from the factory and you you had to come up with every single piece you'd be looking at probably around $25,000 both transmissions if you don't have cores or 7500 a piece that's 5,000 + 2,500 core and auxiliary shift tower are around a thousand bucks and auxiliary cross members to mount the transmission I've seen for around 1500 a piece then you have drive shafts to make and labor so it gets pretty expensive

@@tooez90 you can find used boxes you can find a set for maybe $5,000 but are you going to have to have them rebuilt is the question so they do still reman manual boxes but I don't think they produce brand new ones I know you can still order a new truck with an air shift auxiliary but I don't know about a manual shift I actually have a 91 that's identical to my 92 except it's wrecked it has 9x4 and I have 2 more sets of boxes and you're welcome cheers to you as well
