The 'stick' on the left is replacing the splitter switch. you can see him shift all 13 speeds starting at 5:16 as follows: low, 1'st, 2'nd, 3'rd, 4'th, then selects high range (right stick), then 5'th direct, 5'th overdrive (left stick), 6'th direct, 6'th over (left stick), 7'th direct, 7'th over (left stick), 8'th direct, 8'th over (left stick). Hey I just came across your video absolutely brought back memories when I first started heavy hauling originally started with your standard 18 speed the company I work for and to make a long story short I had the opportunity to learn on the three stick and I took it I am from then on I got switched to a different truck and I drove that truck for a better part of 35 years with the same truck probably rebuilt twice I am currently retired from doing the heavy haul and a three stick I’m back to doing local stuff and your standard 18 speed just thought I’d comment on your video because it brought back memories keep those gearshifting thank you very much for the Memories
He's just making it look more complicated... The center one is the only actual gear shift... The right one is only a high/low range switch... The left one is the splitter switch. He's just making you think it's just that difficult... But it's not. He is actually able to move left stick to split gears before he (really) shifts with the center one. He can use one hand easily to do the same job... He's just putting on a show for the viewers by moving them at the same time is all. I should know... I've got two sticks now on mine. The high/low switch is on my (real) shifter. Same thing as him only minus the third stick. Make sense? Smoke and mirrors... Lol
This guy probably has less break- downs in his truck because he knows how to shift and he respects his truck and takes care of his truck all the time. More power to you sir and may all of your travels always be safe ones with our Lord with you wherever you go.
Al Mihalos I can steal it because it's easy to me I know what he dowing just the gear shifter on the midel side and the right side for high and low gears the left shifter is for Light and heavy gear its very simple for me
Not that my opinion matters but this video is cool. It raises plain old shifting in a big rig to another level. Yes. It isn't necessary. Neither are polished wheels, custom interior, or an eye-catching paint job. If trucking is in your blood, some guys find ways to dial it up a notch. That set-up is not something you see everyday in real life. I had no idea you could even do that till seeing this video. This video is a celebration of an appreciation for the mechanical wonders of big rig transmissions. Shifting gears is a smooth gentle process. Done well. It's a thing of beauty. The driver is in sync with the machine and vis versa. It's hard to see but I believe he's shifting without using the clutch. That's finesse. Lots of people drive truck. Some do it with style and finesse raising it to an art. Thanks for sharing this video.
I learned on twin sticks over 52 years ago . Of course all us old school boys know you can minimized all that shifting but it looks impressive anyway .
It's called walking the sticks. Back when truck driving meant something. That's the way it was back then. I am retired from it now 25 yrs. My dad worked on them so I have been around it my whole life. A truck driver is a one of a kind person, some of the most nicest people I have known. Put that hammer down and give it hell!
I grew up drivin my dad's garbage trucks, where we had 60,000 on a turned up Hendrickson, with a 5 and a 4 and a manual. rear after that one, that I would shift 21 forward gears to reach a top speed of 45MPH. I shifted from home to home on residential routes where you stop and go all day long, all summer, winter, etc.I learned on these trucks when I was 16yrs old. I love truckin', But i REMEMBER a lot more shiftin' in my days. and I have a brother "COUNTRY BOY" out of LUCK WI, Who loves these old 3 STICKER TRUCKS TO THIS DAY! . and collects them Ol' B model and KW's on a farm he calls "Tired Iron Hill"...kinda has a nice rang to it! Later guys, jus puttin in my two cents...which is what it's worth..
signman1122: Thanks for sharing those memories. Finding that ""cog"" and double clutchin some of the old non-synchronized transmissions could be a workout especially on a cold morning. First time I ever climbed into a B-61 Mack, I was 16Yrs (1959) by the end of the day my left leg was pegged out from the heavy duty clutch.
My two brothers and I used to play tag on deadhead GMC Scenicruiser Greyhounds running screaming jimmy and a couple of sticks. Dad still holds a CDL and uses it.
Shit you should see these old boys shifting them bitches on these mountain sides hauling coal.before the changed the law you could haul whatever you could get in the bed I’ve had 90k out back, now truck trailer and load can’t be over 80k. Try shifting that going up and down mountain roads just barely big enough for two Ford Escapes to pass on
13 speed with the air controls removed on transmission and replaced by mechanical control sticks, nice move looks awesome on video and is catchy for newbies
Why would anyone want to remove the air shifters and put them on sticks? Makes no sense other than trying to look cool but who would want to do all that shifting when you can simply flip a button? Stupid. He gonna feel the pain when he gets bursitis in that shoulder
There are tons of people who don’t text and drive for whom this was cause so much bedlam… you’d be adding to people’s distraction, not taking away from it. lol.
There are idiots today that have trouble with Chrysler 200's automatic dial shifter. They'd probably die of confusion if they were to drive this. Hat's off to the guy pulling through above. Also please observe that he seems to be quite young. There's hope for the human race after all.
AeroManiac omg i know we are all idiots because we don't have to drive stick and you folks that can drive stick are all gods!!! everyone must bow down to you!!
AeroManiac Theres no doubt aplauding truck drivers for their ability. But it takes far more than one guy double stickin it on the road to have hope for humanity.
I can tell you by the sound alone it's a 13 spd. Listen for the range switch(low/high side) hiss when he moves the left and top/upper right stick. The left would be the split and upper right is the range switch. Also pay attention to the fact when he is in the low side he never touches the left stick. It's 500 rpm between gears on the bottom side and 250 rpm across the top, cuts em in half and man will it pull then. Makes a weak truck tolerable and a big truck insane. Buuut I'm not taking away from it at all, hell of a cool layout even if it's now a bitch to get in the back. Can't take away from the man being smoother than a duck's back at the same time. Fine job hero!
It could also be an 18 spd, because I am sure you know you dont have to split the bottom box if you dont want too. 18s are 18s 15s 13s and 10s all in one box.
Nice anti theft system! From what I gather watching this though, if I'm right, it's just a normal transmission (probably a 13) with a stick for the range selector and another stick for the splitter. Not as complicated as it looks, but if some random person hopped in they wouldn't have a clue what to do!
Lot of respect for the skill. Haven't seen that done in 20-years (the last Mack MaxiDyne I ever rode in). Now, youngun, about that sitting your seat on the floor to look cool...(I would feel like I was sitting on the frame...just couldn't do it).
Skeeter Saurus you obviously don’t know trucks! Or you did watch the video, this truck is ether a 13or 18 speed, he just took the splitter and hi/low range and made them into separate sticks! It not a true 5+4 or 6+4 with a auxiliary 4 speed box!
One stick for the splitter, one for the range selector, one for the box. Just felt like making it interesting I guess. Not a true multi transmission combo like a 5x4 but if it works for you.......
From CarThrottle: "Injun86: Yo dawg, I heard you like manual transmissions… --Lisa Grant: So I put a manual transmission in your manual transmission ----Lucas Fernandes: So you can change a gear while you change the gear" LMAO xD
This multi stick gear shifting is more than I am able to comprehend! I can't understand any manufacturer making this system which then makes the driver take hands completely away from the wheel - ok, I know this is in America and things are different over there, the roads are bigger, wider and so on, but over here if it was proven that you were driving with no hands, you would receive a hefty fine and penalty points, but then again, never going to happen here. Just so interesting to see this rather complicated and, to me, unnecessary method of gear changes. I am not hating or saying anything untoward, I am just intrigued.
Actually, the old Mack MaxiDyne's had this same configuration, FACTORY, and some did get to Britain. They did hit a brick wall, so to speak, with the NHTSA (U.S. National Highway and Transportation Safety Admin) and other regulatory agencies about the 'no-hands' issue to where a skilled driver actually showed how it could be done by putting their arm through the steering wheel and, by using the inside of the elbow, keep control while grabbing 'two-at-a-time'. The whole issue of that long-gone day, was low-horsepower, low-torque, and very steep (and rough) mountain roads. Keep in mind, you get a 10-percent grade on a rough road pulling a heavy load, and you BETTER have a LOT of gears to stay in your powerband. While it's a lot more for looks now with most trucks (500-horsepower sure beats 185, anyday), there's still extreme loads (over 50-tons) that can cause lots of mountain problems, especially when ice and snow chains get added to the mix (stop rolling, stop and wait for that BIG tow bill).
Actually they had the same configuration, but it wasn't until the 13 speed became popular, because this is jsut a 13 speed with the splitter and range selector valves in the floor instead of on the main shifter.
Thank you for the most concise explanation - you have made it easier to understand as I can now relate to it, although I feel I would at least have a chance with the modern system, but zero chance with the 3 sticks :)
Mack had triplex and duplex. Duplex was two transmissions and triplex was the three transmission. Now this guy is not running a true triplex a he did was convert his 13 speed into a three stick.
Anytime you have to remove both hands from the steering wheel just instills confidence that he is not going to drift into another lane an kill someone. This is a classic case of just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Ir looks complicated but really it's just three different sticks instead of the high/low range lever that you hit with your finger and the overdrive tab that you hit with your thumb. And every manual truck will have the standard stuck shift.
Na, I love hearing a sweet engine noise. I was driving a 5.7 SS Commodore with a 3” system. The drone got annoying on highways, but for those times when you got to a tunnel, ohhhh boy.
Easy, I just saw the video that’s a 13 speed instead of the lever and splitter, he’s got 3sticks, definitely not old school though just kinda nice to have the old school look
Oh hell no. Hell to the N to the O. I just managed downshifting with an Eaton Fuller 18 speed. Not good at it yet, but I’ll be fine. THIS however is a mind twist. I salute everyone who does this like it’s nothing. Best anti-theft feature ever.
You have to give Truckers a big thank you. They bring the daily goods all across this country. All day everyday. All that’s missing is Ronnie Milsap Prisoner of the highway. Crank it up.
You are welcome (Part time truck driver here) and country music is always welcomed while you're out on the road. But you know this ain't a standard setup right... This is a showpiece thing. Left stick is the range selector, middle is standard gear selector and the right one is the overdrive. In Europe nobody has such mods... in fact most rigs are automatic. My Scania is automatic too. But I have driven older trucks with manual transmissions and what this guy has done is simply swap the shifter switches for shifters... Very cool visual, but it would be hell to use this setup on the job.
I like it. I drove Mack's with twin sticks and several others with a 5 and a 4. Nowadays though, too many other things going on in and around the truck that require my attention and input to keep it between the white lines, and off the top of 4 wheelers that think all trucks are big slow moving machines that can stop on a dime. Besides, there is no way I could drink my beer and text on the phone with an extra stick to worry about. J/K, LMAO !
these comments are hilarious!!! old fashion truckin....the ones saying he took his hands off the wheel....are TRULY Steering Wheel Holders...!!! good job Driver...
Except he's just modified a single stick into 3 sticks, all he did was replace the range selector and splitter with sticks, basically just making it harder for the hell of it.
Crazed Monk a "steering wheel holder" just drives a truck, a trucker on the other hand: know their truck. And who gives a shit on whether or not you'd prefer an auto than a modified 13? It's his truck let em do what the fuck he wants! He is the one spending 14 hours or more in the damn thing, so let him do what makes him enjoy his time in the cab more.
hmmm...how could I make shifting even more complicated than what it already is? OH WAIT! Lets turn two simple buttons/levers into two extra large levers that make me take my hands of the steering wheel! PERFECT! I don't usually hate on trucker mods, because if you like it, go for it, who am I to tell you otherwise. But this seems like a safety issue to me, hate it and I would make the guy take it out if I ever had to license this truck. Same with the seat height, don't you dare to ever be in an accident!
+ObsessionPC do you have any idea how many gears american 18 wheelers have? Mostly 18. They have to switch between 2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18 and 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 if i remember correctly. These gearboxes are complicated to operate because americans cant into engineering
Joe Barbaro Well I know there are a lot of gears and you have to operate a splitter and such, but it ain't that hard, UNTIL you take away a simple switch and do what this guy did. Takes both hands of the wheel and shit like that....srsly...
I give him credit for his "know how to" shift but a 3 stick and a 2 stick has seen their day and it's over. That 3 stick would work your ass off and you would be tired as hell at the end of the day. One stick with a HI-LO splitter is the best setup I think.Throw in a Jake Brake for steep downgrades and you got a sweet setup.
for sure man, although it looks cool I would much rather have my single and selector switches. cool for show trucks but no as safe as keeping 1 hand on the wheel.
Actually it is not over. A good friend of mine and i did drive for him still use these older trucks all in the seventies. He has Hays,Pacific,Mac, and International. This is on Vancouver Island, B.C. They are still being used to this day. Awesime trucks to drive hauling logs to the dryland sort.

Taking the truck out of gear whilst selecting overdrive sometimes is really not necessary
Absolute Acid naw bud watch again
Left is . Gear select
Center . Gear spliter
Right. . Hilo range selector
Its a kit
5:17 mate.
The middle is usual gears
I thought the shifiting when splitting gears was for show. But I wasn't sure if I was missing something
S Upchurch - surely the left is the splitter as it only seems to have two positions...….
wt none yes that's correct however the direct/overdrive button on a 13 speed is red 18 is gray
I was a driver for at least 20 years on twin 4 speeds, or 5's and 3's and 5's and 4's and others, how about a 4 speed main and 2 speed auxillary?, not any of those left are there.?? This young guy here is a darned good gear shifter, why knock him? He knows what he's doing, is good at it, and enjoys his skill. Good on you brother.
It's sad that most people bash this guy. That's some serious shifting. Most people on here probably don't know how to even float the gears they probably drive sloped nose and a pussy automatic
Jeremy Crabb this comment made my day!:)
Jeremy Crabb right bashing people who drive automatic really makes you look mature. people can't bash this guy, yet you can bash anyone you damn want?
Your Damn right I can. if you can't drive a stick you ain't shit.
Jeremy Crabb solid argument
That's my old truck. I sold it because it didnt have enough shifters..
You need at least 2 for every gear. People are just lazy!
Connor W lol
Audistyle lol wut?
Audistyle lol
Audistyle 😂😂🤣🤣
Hey I just came across your video absolutely brought back memories when I first started heavy hauling originally started with your standard 18 speed the company I work for and to make a long story short I had the opportunity to learn on the three stick and I took it I am from then on I got switched to a different truck and I drove that truck for a better part of 35 years with the same truck probably rebuilt twice I am currently retired from doing the heavy haul and a three stick I’m back to doing local stuff and your standard 18 speed just thought I’d comment on your video because it brought back memories keep those gearshifting thank you very much for the Memories
This is a a nice mechanical symphony... Perfectly articulate and dynamic. Keep coming back to watch it.
as a musician and gearhead i can 100% appreciate this comment
Very stupid idea . 1 stick dose the job . Why 3 ?
Bout need a degree to drive this one
Or his head examined.
😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
😂😂😂For Sure #Daniel warren
Ya and a few extra hands😃😳😦😟😵
He's just making it look more complicated... The center one is the only actual gear shift... The right one is only a high/low range switch... The left one is the splitter switch. He's just making you think it's just that difficult... But it's not. He is actually able to move left stick to split gears before he (really) shifts with the center one. He can use one hand easily to do the same job... He's just putting on a show for the viewers by moving them at the same time is all. I should know... I've got two sticks now on mine. The high/low switch is on my (real) shifter. Same thing as him only minus the third stick. Make sense? Smoke and mirrors... Lol
i'm just here to listen to that turbo whistle ;)
SonBoogie sweet, innit?
Same now
Lol
get a 6.0 for that lol
Luke Kohut-Jackson Its a 16.0
This guy probably has less break- downs in his truck because he knows how to shift and he respects his truck and takes care of his truck all the time. More power to you sir and may all of your travels always be safe ones with our Lord with you wherever you go.
I'd love to see the instructors face at the MVA when he steers with his knee and doesn't constantly have both hands on the wheel.
not DOT approved !!!! really good job , no grinding , must be well synchronized ,,
Cure for texting while driving.
Chris Rasmussen 😂😂😂
Chris Rasmussen lol
Chris Rasmussen true that man
Left stick = Splitter (direct/overdrive)
Middle stick = Gearbox (Rev-Low : 1-2 : 3-4)
Right stick = Range selector (H / L)
I'd like to see you do this while eating a burger and drinking some coffee ;-)
Who wants a burger with coffee?
or getting some "road head."
And rolling a joint.
Answer: You don’t.
If someone try to steal his truck..HE CANT ;)
best anti-theft system there is. Thief goes; "What the heck??"
A few still can ...Shake, Shake
Al Mihalos I can steal it because it's easy to me I know what he dowing just the gear shifter on the midel side and the right side for high and low gears the left shifter is for Light and heavy gear
its very simple for me
islem RG English not simple for you
I know how to operate 3 gear shifters. Ill steal it. The only think i cant steal yet is 18 gear transmission
The best symphony of all time consists of a turbo and jake brake!
And straight pipes.
I just got my LCD got any pointers
It's called walking the sticks. Back when truck driving meant something. That's the way it was back then. I am retired from it now 25 yrs. My dad worked on them so I have been around it my whole life. A truck driver is a one of a kind person, some of the most nicest people I have known. Put that hammer down and give it hell!
When trucking meant something? Pretty sure it means the same thing now that it's always meant lol.
This isn't walking the sticks. Its driving a regular 13 speed and trying really really hard to make it all look harder than it is.
I assume it works so one stick is the " gear ", one the splitter and one the range?
What a brilliant idea having to take both hands off the wheel, can see that catching on.😂
That's the first thing I though
Strangling enough you can do all this from one gear stick!
Some people like to complicate things and show off!!
@@MegaSkypes😂
Later guys, jus puttin in my two cents...which is what it's worth..
signman1122 nobody cares.
signman1122: Thanks for sharing those memories.
Flickchaser a
My two brothers and I used to play tag on deadhead GMC Scenicruiser Greyhounds running screaming jimmy and a couple of sticks. Dad still holds a CDL and uses it.
signman1122 ok, first off you say turned up Hendrickson? Hendrickson makes suspension not engines
I can barely get left foot right foot walking and this guy...this guy is a wizard a real lord of the rings wizard...!
I feel like this isn't really going far enough. I mean, one stick is engaging five different gears. Why not have five separate sticks for that?
Lenco transmissions have a stick for each gear.
😂😂
Kilduff shifter xD
Gordanovich02 my thoughts exactly
"Goro will remember that."
That turbo whistle tho.
It would be cool for about 10 minutes and then it would drive me bananas.
3406 straight pipe, gotta love it
Shane Melochick straight pipes have nothing to do with why the turbo sounds like that. It's a Cat that's what they sound like
3406? No c15 550 cat
Good luck on narrow winding slippery snowcovered roads with huge ditches.
Shit you should see these old boys shifting them bitches on these mountain sides hauling coal.before the changed the law you could haul whatever you could get in the bed I’ve had 90k out back, now truck trailer and load can’t be over 80k. Try shifting that going up and down mountain roads just barely big enough for two Ford Escapes to pass on
This guy is not a truck driver! He is a humanoid upgrade to a three stick manual transmission. Phenomenal!
0 to 60 in 7 years
😂
SpiritsoftheWolf hahahaha
Hahaha that is funny
ruclips.net/video/PkCn4UDA_bM/видео.html
Damn 😂😂😂😂
Fuck the 3 sticks, I just want to hear that turbo whistle
13 speed with the air controls removed on transmission and replaced by mechanical control sticks, nice move looks awesome on video and is catchy for newbies
Why would anyone want to remove the air shifters and put them on sticks? Makes no sense other than trying to look cool but who would want to do all that shifting when you can simply flip a button? Stupid. He gonna feel the pain when he gets bursitis in that shoulder
@@rogerburch69cause he wants to be cool.
That's the most advanced anti-theft system I've ever seen in my life
Every vehicle in the USA should have a transmission like this! I want to see somebody texting and shifting ! This set up would make our roads safer.
There are tons of people who don’t text and drive for whom this was cause so much bedlam… you’d be adding to people’s distraction, not taking away from it. lol.
Doing this for 11 hours a day? No thanks, lol... Pretty cool though.
11 hours? still got about 5 more to go bro.....
11 hours? Just getting day started....
Dustin lindblad DOT says otherwise
Tato Gartacos just because your a sissyfied auto driver don't mean this is bad. Grow a set and learn to shift!
jsj297 dude I totally agree if ever given the opportunity to drive one of these, I'd do it in a heartbeat
AeroManiac *this is the part where i'm supposed to act all offended* :(
AeroManiac
lol you didn't say that in your first comment.
Machiavelli531469 Just scroll up to the root comment...... and don't waste my time like this... I've got better things to do.
AeroManiac Theres no doubt aplauding truck drivers for their ability. But it takes far more than one guy double stickin it on the road to have hope for humanity.
I’d get fired in an hour. If I didn’t, I quit after listening to that turbo whistling all day.
Not very American of you
A turbo spooling is one of the most beautiful sounds in the world
Wow....so unconfortable....I mean, I know the sticks' function....but damn, texting while driver seems more practical
Thank God for the Roadranger 13 spd. selector switch Transmission ! !
Yeah ! !
It could also be an 18 spd, because I am sure you know you dont have to split the bottom box if you dont want too. 18s are 18s 15s 13s and 10s all in one box.
so put these 3 sticks in every vehicle, texting while driving immediately not a problem anymore 😂😂😂
RYAN LOOK you can also screw learning how to drive 😂😂😂😂 most ppl now don't know how to drive a stick
You can most of the time just put in a manual singel shifter transmission and most of the time, that`ll do it XD
Nice anti theft system!
From what I gather watching this though, if I'm right, it's just a normal transmission (probably a 13) with a stick for the range selector and another stick for the splitter. Not as complicated as it looks, but if some random person hopped in they wouldn't have a clue what to do!
Left stick is splitter middle is gears right is range. I actually drove one
if you've shifted an eaton before you'll know that this setup can be used with one hand at a time.
Really, he’s just trying to look cool
i could listen to that sound all day long💯💯
me too
5.56 .223 than listen idiots
Turbo whistle and blow off valve gets annoying.
that shit would get obnoxious after a while
5.56 .223 love that turbo
The shifter length reminds me of Ross, the cartoonist from Daytona back in the 70's, hos hot rods always had the shifter out the roof.
True
..Change "Ross" to "Roth", as in "Big Daddy Ed Roth", R.I.P.
I wish I understood this shifter and transmission arrangement. Seems there’s like a gear for every occasion. 😍 The turbo sounds sweet.
It not a true 5+4 or 6+4 with a auxiliary 4 speed box!
fake ass shifters
this is regular 13 spd transmission, it looks complicated with those two extra sticks to shift air valves.
I watched this video several times and figuared it out now looks easier
That wasn't very hard to figure out!!!!!!!!!
ruclips.net/video/PkCn4UDA_bM/видео.html
One stick for the splitter, one for the range selector, one for the box. Just felt like making it interesting I guess. Not a true multi transmission combo like a 5x4 but if it works for you.......
All that is such a fucking waste of time.
Way more complicated than it needs to be
Pussy
@@michaelosborn4119 too stupid of a comment that it could be
Whats complicated is all these sensors and Regulators on the new trucks when comes time to fix
@@christineluke6429 Very true, lol. I restore cars, and that's why I stick to classic cars.
I don't really think it's complicated. Looks like a normal transmission, just with sticks instead of switches.
My first log truck was a 5 and 4 these videos bring back a ton of memories!!!!!! Thank you 🙏 love it!!!!!
After watching closely, I can see it's the same as my 13 speed only made difficult
God damn, just listen to that turbo...
is he driving in heaven?
+Tadashi Sensei Judging as how that cluster-fuck of shift requires two hands I would predict he will be soon!
+Kent Sextro bro,u fukken cracked me up,LOL.!!!!!!
+Kent Sextro Dude fucking hilarious!
+Tadashi Sensei lmaoooooooooo funny
Kinda glad they simplified this with the black and red switches on the stick.
From CarThrottle:
"Injun86: Yo dawg, I heard you like manual transmissions…
--Lisa Grant: So I put a manual transmission in your manual transmission
----Lucas Fernandes: So you can change a gear while you change the gear"
LMAO xD
Matthew Kelley ur so right
Mack had triplex and duplex. Duplex was two transmissions and triplex was the three transmission. Now this guy is not running a true triplex a he did was convert his 13 speed into a three stick.
Wow! This is trucker art. I'm speechless right now
Anytime you have to remove both hands from the steering wheel just instills confidence that he is not going to drift into another lane an kill someone. This is a classic case of just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Looks to me like an everyday 13 speed with the air shift cylinders replaced with manual levers!!!
That's exactly all it is
Yep.
the turbo is music to my ears
What ? i cant hear you..
CAT!
I have a tea kettle you would love.
This would be an easy way to solve texting while driving!
Ryan Toomey
Only there's nothing easy about that!
OMG that sound of brake jake from 4:13 to 5:13, it's an eargasm. Love it.
It's amazing. I am riding a heavy truck or trailer in Japan, It's a 7-speed manual transmission, and a 16-speed trailer is automatic.
Ir looks complicated but really it's just three different sticks instead of the high/low range lever that you hit with your finger and the overdrive tab that you hit with your thumb. And every manual truck will have the standard stuck shift.
I was extremely impressed with the down shift! Really quite brilliant mastery of the machine.( No time for bating )
Dunno if I’d wanna sit and listen to that whistle all day-
Only good thing about
this video :)
I mean he probably has the windows open, mine is that bad with the windows open, but closed its quiet
Na, I love hearing a sweet engine noise. I was driving a 5.7 SS Commodore with a 3” system. The drone got annoying on highways, but for those times when you got to a tunnel, ohhhh boy.
Dude teach me!!!! Talk about skill much respect!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Easy, I just saw the video that’s a 13 speed instead of the lever and splitter, he’s got 3sticks, definitely not old school though just kinda nice to have the old school look
Old school would be a 24 speed gear box twin stick spicer trans, that’s big time old school
And the way he caress the wheel xD woow he is such an expert
I like putting my truck in "D" and using my right hand to eat snacks.
Dan Stennis Automatic is good for eating but once that shit gets stuck in neutral you just lost 30 minutes
I like blowing doors off while people are in D, sipping some caffeine and eating a snack.
I personally like to put it in D text and eat a snack
And then when I get home I put the D in the olady.
yup
Oh hell no. Hell to the N to the O. I just managed downshifting with an Eaton Fuller 18 speed. Not good at it yet, but I’ll be fine. THIS however is a mind twist. I salute everyone who does this like it’s nothing.
Best anti-theft feature ever.
😂 the thief b scratching his head😂 I have some videos up on my channel just for 18 speeds . Might help with ur downshifting
Great job shifting. handles it well. He knows exactly what he's dong.
Holy shit that turbo sounds amazing!
J/K, LMAO !
+CumminsDslPwr LOL and eat ur lunch
+CumminsDslPwr LOL!
His guy is so very, lucky to drive a 3 stick shifting gear, this is insane 🤣🤣 🤣
these comments are hilarious!!! old fashion truckin....the ones saying he took his hands off the wheel....are TRULY Steering Wheel Holders...!!! good job Driver...
A true master of the craft in this video thank you for sharing.
hmmm...how could I make shifting even more complicated than what it already is?
Takes both hands of the wheel and shit like that....srsly...
for real mn
you do understand this isn't a mod this is a transmission
+Steven Lillo this is a mod. The two extra shifters are normally switches on one shifter. This truck is stupid.
California to Georgia
2 months maybe.
Emphasis on Maybe
I give him credit for his "know how to" shift but a 3 stick and a 2 stick has seen their day and it's over. That 3 stick would work your ass off and you would be tired as hell at the end of the day.
One stick with a HI-LO splitter is the best setup I think.Throw in a Jake Brake for steep downgrades and you got a sweet setup.
Pussy
Leslie Rogers You are? I thought you were. Leslie, girls name,ah,I see now.
for sure man, although it looks cool I would much rather have my single and selector switches. cool for show trucks but no as safe as keeping 1 hand on the wheel.
Old lron 40years driving l like lt
Actually it is not over. A good friend of mine and i did drive for him still use these older trucks all in the seventies. He has Hays,Pacific,Mac, and International. This is on Vancouver Island, B.C. They are still being used to this day. Awesime trucks to drive hauling logs to the dryland sort.
I got to say the video quality is absolutely fantastic for being nearly a decade old, it being 1080p notwithstanding
