Very good review. The input output placement is a real plus for me personally. I place the comp 3rd in my chain (Turner and Envelope Filter are 1&2. The Airchild sits at the top of the board (second row of pedals) so top placement for the jacks are perfect in my case.
good review bro thanks,🤟😎🎸
Mike - nice review. I was wanting to hear the Airchild with a distortion pedal. Like a Rat perhaps. Compression pedals are notoriously noisy when used with a distortion pedals. I was curious if the Airchild was a better performer with a distortion pedal. Less hum and unwanted noise. Cheers
Sorry for the late reply. So I just tested it with two pedals, the Suhr Riot Reloaded and the EHX orange fuzz. Yes, in both cases the fairchild adds noise (similar to a tube screamer in front of a distortion unit). So if you were to use it like this, a noise gate would be necessary I'm afraid.
But also... I kinda feel the sound didn't gain much?! Maybe a tiiiny bit of better attack? But I guess because both of these pedals are on the high gain side and already compress by themselves. So personally, I would not use this comp in front of a distortion pedal, but ymmv!
Thanks for watching!
☺👍
Thank you for the review. I wonder if it can handle bass guitar? or maybe other sources altogether?
Sorry haven't tried it with Bass.
