The physical appearance of this model is much nicer and the build quality is (probably) much better... but being slimmer and lighter, I'm not sure if this new model is as modular.

For me the strongest reason to have a hackentosh is not to “get a Mac cheaper than a Mac” mainly because you need a real Mac to (legally) make a hackentosh. No, the real reason I feel to get a hackentosh is to have one device that can handle multiple operating systems (Mac, Windows, and Linux, maybe even chromeOS if you like) without having to use bootcamp on a real Mac because real macs chug under windows for some reason, and not having to carry around several devices.

You can do way better laptops cheaper this laptop cost you $500, plus your bumping up all the parts so there’s another $500, that’s garbage... the point of a Hackintosh is getting Mac on the Cheapest product working better than apple... my surface pro 3 factory device has Catalina on it with only 128gb hard drive and it kills your $1000 shitty laptop

Anything nvidia you should avoid. Or only if you want to be stuck on old macOS (10.13). There are no (web-)drivers for newer macOS. It also does not support the 1060 GTX. Maybe google "anti-hackintosh buyers guide", which tells you what to avoid.

@@DylansDecoded hackintosh are very cool but i always think about what if theres malware or mining in the macOS free versions :x the s15 is like 600 bucks but way better specs than a 13' air or pro macbook, so its way cheaper and with better performance
And if it gets toasty, you're fucked on the MacBook air. It has a fan there doing nothing, because the MacBook air doesn't have a heatsink, just a bit of copper

How compares the display with a MacBook air? for editing photos I found Apple monitors far ahead over windows laptops.
