I ran a Mac OS vm about six years ago when I ran a hackintosh as my main OS. This has been possible for some time. Back then there was no hardware acceleration and I only did it to fix my hackintosh hdd which stopped booting.
This week i installed macOS Catalina on a HP Spectre X360 13 (2018)... and I confess that i fall inlove of OSX. A best laptop with a beautiful and elegant OS.

Haha thanks for noticing and sharing. Looks like he did it on purpose since he closes his mouth right before the camera cuts. Still funny as hell though.
Wow, Supra and the others who commented on this, a year after it was posted don't seem to understand what this video represents. Bootcamp or more importantly running Microsoft Windows on *Apple Hardware* is *NOT* what this video represents. This video takes the MacOS binary (the installer) , and installs MacOS in a virtual machine, running on hardware that Apple's engineering team has never seen!! It is a major accomplishment (and this from someone who worked on MacOS). Virtualization of MacOS has been done before inside Parallels and VMWare - and there are a few instances why you would run more than one copy of MacOS at the same time on a single machine). The most impressive part of this video, is that it uses NVDIA's latest graphics cards with native MacOS, which as of May 2020, is still *NOT* supported even on Apples $50,000 Mac Pro. This is the only way (in 2020) for Final Cut Pro to use NVDIA RTX! Although to be clear the AMD Pro Vega II Duo especially with Apple optimized software is (1) Mac Only (2) Faster than NVDIA 2080 RTX. So the only reason to do this is cost. Kudos to Anthony of Linus Tech .

I think just using virtual box is easier. Also using the Mac installer on a non mac is not illegal, it’s just against Apple’s usage agreement which means they can terminate the hackintosh’s software if they found out. It’s only illegal if you start distribution of Mac OS. Otherwise it falls under the copyright category of personal backup
Now let's not get too crazy. How about first starting with a flagship, high performance machine that doesn't have 6 year old hardware and THEN start worrying about thermal throttling. On the other hand with the Mac pro becoming 6 years old it may finally start to be able to read... I guess the Human CentiPad is cancelled.
It's probably because you're not familiar with the terminology/jargon that's being spouted, it's the same with most technical subjects where if you don't know what the first word means you won't understand what the next one means and so on. If you just slow down and read up on each part of the process it gets a lot easier to understand, after you know all the verbose and specific meaning of each part it doesn't seem so complicated, people like to do this all the time because it makes people seem smarter than they are and protects their job from being taken by someone else. edit : typo

They rarely do, that is not meant as a criticism there is just so much to know and new stuff coming along all the time. I've watch it all since my first Apple 2+ clone back in the early 80's. It's been a great time to be alive if you love tech.
I ran a Mac OS vm about six years ago when I ran a hackintosh as my main OS. This has been possible for some time. Back then there was no hardware acceleration and I only did it to fix my hackintosh hdd which stopped booting.

They had me until I found out it requires Anthony, massive hackonfiginfoo thru VMWARE and several command line interfaces and more money and hardware than it would take to just buy the best MAC you can get. Don't get me wrong, it looks like great fun if you want a hobby level project and have Anthony level skills and Linus level hardware, software, and money. So if it was me, I'd just go buy a used Mac to play with, but since I don't like Apple stuff anyway, the main fun of this whole project is it shows that if you have the skills and experience and resources you can play with Apple's toys without permission and also without having to play their games, which is why I don't like Apple stuff in the first place. If they had done it like IBM, or better yet, open sourced their stuff in the first place, they would own the computing world now instead of being a pretentious boutique wannabe computer outfit that's more into their stuff looking cool than working better, ohh, and don't you dare think about playing in their ecosystem unless you buy their overpriced slow but cool looking stuff-from them-only. Yeh, not an Apple fan. I wish they were all Hackintoshes...
Ha! if you think that was complicated check this out.

This is the comment of the week.

That's a great roast if i ever saw one
17:03
Now let's not get too crazy. How about first starting with a flagship, high performance machine that doesn't have 6 year old hardware and THEN start worrying about thermal throttling. On the other hand with the Mac pro becoming 6 years old it may finally start to be able to read... I guess the Human CentiPad is cancelled.

Everything after 6:30 got complicated for me.
