Hot Fresh Fact: The Neverhood team did not intend to make a direct sequel to the Neverhood, but Steven Spielberg (head of DreamWorks Interactive, and champion of the original Neverhood) only backed the side scrolling game if it was made into a sequel to the original Neverhood.

As someone who has never skipped the intro I'm moderately disgusted by the existence of those that do, it's like when you find out someone doesn't wash their legs in the shower

My brother was autistic and used to be obsessed with this game; we’d both play it for hours on end together. There are so many quirky details and things that happen that it’s worth playing and giving your 100% attention to. The guys missed so many little things in this play. Like the fact that Klaymen’s trousers fall down if you don’t do anything for a while, but when that happened, nobody was looking at the screen.
I’m glad you found common ground with your brother. I never played Skullmonkeys, but after watching this, I could see myself getting a little obsessed as well.

Worm graveyard is where it was at.
I like how Ashton picked up the bullet on the first level. Immediately fired it off, collected a couple more along the line, and everybody promptly completely forgot about bullets 😅
That game has the best cutscenes EVER. No sarcasm. I'd watch 2 hours of that guy eating beans. It's like a claymation Ren and Stimpy. I hope there's a claymation movie that those animators worked on.
This game was my 1st ps1 game I owned and had fallen in love with Neverhood series to the point that I even own the autographed album by terry scott taylor (2disc) and Doug tenNaple did the art for earthworm jim as well
The red ball you jumped through has nothing to do with the room where the Lil' Bonus Room plays; at the end of some stages you just get a choice between a couple of different sub levels with the red one being tougher. Also, getting hit while using the Pharthead just returns you to where Klayman was left without losing a life (you're not invincible when using it).
I understand this is definitely of a certain vintage but this gives off big Trap Door energy

I grew up playing the PC game, I never knew it had a sequel! I’ll have to check this out, very cool it’s different from the point & click. The art style and weird feeling it gives it was made the original so cool

I LOVE this game. I do have a massive problem with Doug TenNaple as a person, but he was involved in some absolutely fantastic games (Earthworm Jim, Neverhood, Skullmonkeys, Armikrog).
co-signed on all of this. the dev team on Earthworm Jim 3 had to go out of their way to say that Doug was not involved will not be seeing profits from the game, which is the only reason I'm looking forward to it. The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys soundtracks are absolutely wonderful though, start to finish.

I found the game by chance at my uncle's house who had a ps1 back then, from the moment I started the game I played like crazy, as I was losing I was getting better until suddenly I finished it

I never thought about how skipping the intro would affect the channel. What other sorts of behaviours do you see from yoru viewers that have an impact like that? For instance, I've disabled my adblocker for you guys, but after the first few seconds of an ad, there's often the option to skip the rest of the ad - do you still get the ad revenue if the ad is skipped when youtube allows it?
It would make for a really ploppers video, but it'd be really good to hear from you guys:

That game over screen brought back so many memories I almost choked up a bit. My and my sisters and cousin would play this all the time as kids.
Omg those skull monkeys are just the thing from the David Tennant era of Dr who on the episode with cybermen and that guy who accidentally info stamped himself and thought he was Dr who. There's literally a weird Beasty in that episode that IS a skull monkey.
For some reason "some sort of land shark" just sent me 😂😂😂. This whole thing was just so funny, thanks for cheering me up!

The lil' bonus song pales in comparison to the The Neverhood theme; that theme gets stuck in your head for weeks!
I’ve never heard an actual explanation for why it’s called a “cold open.” My best guess is that the audience is going into a show cold since there’s no opening title sequence to warm them up. For decades they were called “teasers” within the TV industry, which makes more sense than “cold open” because their primary purpose is tempting the audience to stick around.

In the artists defense, the list of _good_ 3d platformers is pretty short when compared to the massive number of terrible ones. Especially in the early days for every Mario there was a Bubsy, a Shrek and an Earthworm Jim. Even today you run into Balan Wonderworld and have to wonder if that guy wasn't kinda right.
I wondered where the boingboingboing went. I sorta miss it, it was a very satisfying noise. xD
Certainly a fitting game for this series!

If you bounce on a skullmonkeys head 3 times in a row without touching the ground klayman does a funny action. This also happens if you jump on the checkpoint bird 3 times without touching the ground.

I actually liked it. You're right about it being a real pain in the ass when it comes to difficulty. I was a lot better at it in the 90's I was 11 or 12 at the time. Wasted a summer flipping it. The 90's were weird. Everything is goofy or sorta dark. I always thought it had a Tim Burton-esque look to it.
This game was my go to game when I was 7. Played it nonstop along with heart of darkness and some other game I've been trying to remember the name of for the past 20 years.
It was a kids game, that was a party brawler i think. Not sure if it was tag team or 2-4 players and you just fought each other on little platforms/levels, and all the characters had similar bodys/arms to Rayman but were all little kids i think aha

Dear Triple Jump : There's a thing called sponsorblock. That may be the 1% who are skipping specific parts.
It has user submitted sections of "to be avoided" or "none content" which auto skip.
I ran it for a bit but realised I missed alot of content.
