Blast Corps for N64 was also one of the weirdest games ever, but I was also HOOKED on playing it.
Western developers: "This is a bit weird and random. Are you sure you want this in this game?"
Japanese developers: "This is a bit weird and random. WHY WASN'T THIS IN THE GAME FROM THE START?!?!"
God I love japanese games. They never cease to amaze me. 😍
Won't be seeing a lot of these games no more, at least not from japan. Japan hates them. It was only a paycheck and an experiment for them. They also hate the 90s gaming as well.

Love the video, as always! Side note, it sounds like there are two of Peter's voice on top of each other for some reason, so there's a bit of phasing going on. I'm sure someone said something already, but just in case they haven't, wanted to let you know! 🤘
Japanese personal pronouns are highly gendered, but all other pronouns are often just left out completely if it's obvious who you're referring to.
My guess is the picture of the woman was there to indicate what he was thinking, and they had to add 'she' when translating to English because we rely on pronouns a lot more and it was the easiest way to translate the context.
It also doesn't help some honorifics like -chan, -kun, etc are used by both sexes depending on the context. Like with -chan, which is usually reserved for women/girls but also can be used by or to refer boys in kind of cute & enduring way (in certain contexts, although normally it would be considered generally inappropriate).
Also, from my understanding that context is actually an issue in the Japanese language, it can be a bit vague even and cause some misunderstandings, even with native speakers.

I bought this games in Morrison's in 2004 for £10 and I still own my copy today. Morrison's used to sell cheap PS2 games in blue box shelves and that's where I found some of my favourite PS2 games like Urban Chaos and Earth Defence Force.

I had a class with that guy. He was always drawing sumo wrestlers with no clothes on.
He said he wanted to make a game, but back then it wasn't called BCV, it was CBT and a completely different kind of game. Gross in fact. Naked sumo wrestlers stomping on wilsons.
Anyway, glad to see he has his own company making weird games nobody wants to play. That was his great love.

Nah, different developers. Surprisingly, there actually seems to be a couple games about battling construction vehicles...kinda sucks that most of them aren't very good.

Played and finished BCV last year. It was surprisingly progressive in regards to the trans subject matter, not joking either.
It's just a shame the controls suck and the last 2 fights devolve into stun locking them opponents with the weakest attack you can do.

My cat won't get off my lap. I was gonna go check out the RE4 remaster demo on my PC . My cat has literally forced me to watch your video instead.
The problem is, at 6 years old, this game may be too intense for my virgin eyes. It's a little fish in my ear, and when I put the fish in my ear, it allows me to speak any language I want to the fish in my ear, and the fish will translate whatever I say into English.
I hope you understand I am passion about my special words, and also careful of what is allowed to enter my ear canal (among other canals I possess), because it's one of five nono spots \ erogenous zones I was sworn to protect since birth.
