It's so intersting to see their point of view in the supermarket. For us all this is quite normal I never thought that they'd complain about the prices or that they would be astonished that we buy food thats ready to be eaten. Very interesting!
But, then, again you have to realize there Amish and, they think people in the English world are lazy. But, you also have to look at it this way a huge majority of the Amish have lived and worked on a farm from the time they were born, they don’t realize people that are English as they like to call us that not everyone lives on a farm and that a lot of us hold jobs and, they don’t have the time on there hands to do all these things that people in the Amish world can take the time to do at there leisure. They don’t actually have little knowledge of how things out in the world actually works.
I've seen it as normal but it's still amazes me that people work themselves to the bone so much they need precut veggies and fruits. And the sticks I've always made fun of people for buying stuff like that
Almonds don't have udders; you have to whip them until they cry. That's right. You were drinking almond tears this whole time. Not only does this job traumatize hundreds of Guatemalan and Salvadorean ag-visa workers for the rest of their lives, it also takes over 9000 gallons of non-renewable ancient groundwater to produce a single almond tear.
These girls are so beautiful inside and out. I hope that they stay strong and do what their heart desires not with their family tells them that they have to do

1. In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. 2. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. 2. God, there is no god but He, the Living, the Eternal. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. He is the Sublime, the Magnificent. Originator of the heavens and the earth. He made for you mates from among yourselves, and pairs of animals, by means of which He multiplies you. There is nothing like Him. He is the Hearing, the Seeing. 3. He sent down to you the Book with the Truth, confirming what came before it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel. 4. Aforetime, as guidance for mankind; and He sent down the Criterion. Those who have rejected God’s signs will have a severe punishment. God is Mighty, Able to take revenge. 5. Nothing is hidden from God, on earth or in the heaven. 6. It is He who forms you in the wombs as He wills. There is no god except He, the Almighty, the Wise. 16. And mention in the Scripture Mary, when she withdrew from her people to an eastern location. 17. She screened herself away from them, and We sent to her Our spirit, and He appeared to her as an immaculate human. 18. She said, “I take refuge from you in the Most Merciful, should you be righteous.” 19. He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.” 20. She said, “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, and I was never unchaste?” 21. He said, “Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity, and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already decided.'“ 22. So she carried him, and secluded herself with him in a remote place. 23. The labor-pains came upon her, by the trunk of a palm-tree. She said, “I wish I had died before this, and been completely forgotten.” 24. Whereupon he called her from beneath her: “Do not worry; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you. 25. And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, and it will drop ripe dates by you.” 26. “So eat, and drink, and be consoled. And if you see any human, say, ‘I have vowed a fast to the Most Gracious, so I will not speak to any human today.'“ 27. Then she came to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have done something terrible. 28. O sister of Aaron, your father was not an evil man, and your mother was not a whore.” 29. So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to an infant in the crib?” 30. He said, “I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture, and made me a prophet. 31. And has made me blessed wherever I may be; and has enjoined on me prayer and charity, so long as I live. 32. And kind to my mother, and He did not make me a disobedient rebel. 33. So Peace is upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I get resurrected alive.” 34. That is Jesus son of Mary-the Word of truth about which they doubt. 35. It is not for God to have a child-glory be to Him. To have anything done, He says to it, “Be,” and it becomes. 36. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.” 37. But the various factions differed among themselves. So woe to those who disbelieve from the scene of a tremendous Day. 38. Listen to them and watch for them the Day they come to Us. But the wrongdoers today are completely lost. 39. And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded. Yet they are heedless, and they do not believe. 40. It is We who will inherit the earth and everyone on it, and to Us they will be returned. 41. And mention in the Scripture Abraham. He was a man of truth, a prophet. 42. He said to his father, “O my father, why do you worship what can neither hear, nor see, nor benefit you in any way? 43. O my father, there has come to me knowledge that never came to you. So follow me, and I will guide you along a straight way. 44. O my father, do not worship the devil. The devil is disobedient to the Most Gracious. 45. O my father, I fear that a punishment from the Most Gracious will afflict you, and you become an ally of the devil.” 46. He said, “Are you renouncing my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will stone you. So leave me alone for a while.” 47. He said, “Peace be upon you. I will ask my Lord to forgive you; He has been Kind to me. 48. And I will withdraw from you, and from what you pray to instead of God. And I will pray to my Lord, and I hope I will not be disappointed in my prayer to my Lord.” 49. When he withdrew from them, and from what they worship besides God, We granted him Isaac and Jacob. And each We made a prophet. 50. And We gave them freely of Our mercy, and gave them a noble reputation of truth. 51. And mention in the Scripture Moses. He was dedicated. He was a messenger and a prophet. 52. And We called him from the right side of the Mount, and brought him near in communion. 53. And We granted him, out of Our mercy, his brother Aaron, a prophet. 54. And mention in the Scripture Ishmael. He was true to his promise, and was a messenger, a prophet. 55. And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and charity, and he was pleasing to his Lord. 56. And mention in the Scripture Enoch. He was a man of truth, a prophet. 57. And We raised him to a high position. 58. These are some of the prophets God has blessed, from the descendants of Adam, and from those We carried with Noah, and from the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and from those We guided and selected. Whenever the revelations of the Most Gracious are recited to them, they would fall down, prostrating and weeping. 59. But they were succeeded by generations who lost the prayers and followed their appetites. They will meet perdition. 60. Except for those who repent, and believe, and act righteously. These will enter Paradise, and will not be wronged in the least. 61. The Gardens of Eden, promised by the Most Merciful to His servants in the Unseen. His promise will certainly come true. 62. They will hear no nonsense therein, but only peace. And they will have their provision therein, morning and evening. 63. Such is Paradise which We will give as inheritance to those of Our servants who are devout. 64. “We do not descend except by the command of your Lord. His is what is before us, and what is behind us, and what is between them. Your Lord is never forgetful.” 65. Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. So worship Him, and persevere in His service. Do you know of anyone equal to Him? 66. And the human being says, “When I am dead, will I be brought back alive?” 67. Does the human being not remember that We created him before, when he was nothing? 68. By your Lord, We will round them up, and the devils, then We will bring them around Hell, on their knees. 69. Then, out of every sect, We will snatch those most defiant to the Most Merciful. 70. We are fully aware of those most deserving to scorch in it. 71. There is not one of you but will go down to it. This has been an unavoidable decree of your Lord. 72. Then We will rescue those who were devout, and leave the wrongdoers in it, on their knees. 73. When Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, “Which of the two parties is better in position, and superior in influence?” 74. How many a generation have We destroyed before them, who surpassed them in riches and splendor? 75. Say, “Whoever is in error, the Most Merciful will lead him on.” Until, when they see what they were promised-either the punishment, or the Hour. Then they will know who was in worse position and weaker in forces. 76. God increases in guidance those who accept guidance. And the things that endure-the righteous deeds-have the best reward with your Lord, and the best outcome. Read The Quran

"That is so lazy, why wouldn't you do it yourself" As someone from England, I'm not offended by this. It's a perfectly valid and interesting question which deserves a complex answer: We were basically conditioned for decades into believing that to have things done for us, was not only nice, but good for us. We had this done because it profited the people selling us this stuff. In return, we enjoyed the convenience but it came at a giant cost - How our environment, animals, and supermarket workers are treated today.
What are you talking about conditioned, it’s called capitalism you sell your skills and purchase them you don’t have, do you think bricklayers and carpenters have the time and resources to manufacture their own food ? No one does a skilled job in trade for another’s skilled product
They are calling the Americans English because they are Germans historically speaking. They aren't talking about people from England, I know it's wrong terminology but it's how they say it, hey, what can we do about it, they talk different.
It's specialisation. The most valuable curerncy anyone has is time. Yes you could get your own chickens to get your own eggs, have a cow to get your own milk, grow and cut your own vegetables, but how much time are you gonna be spending (read: wasting) on that? Instead we've decided to delegate specific jobs of production to specific people, who can do it professionally, and generally at a higher level of quality than the average person would be able to do, which in turn frees up time for us to spend on more valuable things to us, whether it be times of leisure or work.
The one in the dark blue is so funny lol "look at that twig" you can go get a teig off the tree 😂 look at this milk, why not go get a cow 😂 $6 for eggs, why not buy a chicken 😂 so hilarious
The fact they’re worried about their parents never letting them come home. How could you be such a shitty parent you’d want nothing to do with your CHILD?!! You’re supposed to love and support your child no matter what.
I agree that it's shitty how they force and even kinda blackmail their children, because of their own personal opinions and outlooks on life. Like, keep living your life however you want but let your child do the same. There is no need to push your child out of your life just because it wants to life differently. Well, not only do they live in the past but their views on parenting are also ancient
Well the Amish community is low-hey kind of like a cult, you aren’t allowed to talk to anyone outside of the community until 18 where you get to go “wild” and then see if you want to return to the Amish or leave and if you leave, you have to be shunned by your entire family and the rest of the community.
Live and let live. Respect every family culture. I’m not sure if you are aware but the average American family doesn’t seem to be doing so hot either. Most Amish kids are happy. The ones that aren’t... leave. Obviously, they found a couple of girls to show the negative for our viewing pleasure.
@@margiegandy9189 you can't be truly "happy" when you are cut off the rest of the world and you have no idea whats happening around the world. These kids are forced in this lifestyle from the moment they are born and are only happy or think they are happy because they have never experienced anything outside of their community and the things they allow. And it is mostly the factor that they know they will be disowned by their community and their parents if they try something new which would be normal for other people meaning they don't really have much of a choice.
@@crqsh6470 actually you can be very happy when you are isolated from the rest of the world. The kids weren’t forced into it, they were born into it, and they are indeed happy, just as people in other isolated parts of the world are happy. Mainstream is where the clinically depressed, suicidal, and miserable people are. Every family culture must be respected and nurtured. The fact that some want to leave what they were born into doesn’t make the lifestyle wrong or bad, it simply doesn’t fit them. It happens in every culture. Thank God we live in a time where we have the liberty to choose.

Actually, there's a great deal of waste in our grocery stores. All of that packaging goes into landfills. I think we should go back to the old way and get rid of most of that packaging.
I'm from the northwestern US where we never see Amish people, but when I started working as a truck driver and went through the northeastern states, then for my first time-quite a number of times-we saw them. But what's different from this video where they go into a supermarket for the first time and are so awed at everything, when we went into a Wal-Mart, there was an Amish couple standing right behind me in line at the checkout counter carrying some groceries, as if it were the most normal thing for them to do. I moved my groceries forward on the belt, put down a divider stick and said to them, "Here, you can put your things down here so you don't have to carry them." The man gave me a friendly smile and they started putting their things down. Looked to me like they were pretty used to shopping at "English" supermarkets.
I know in another episode Maureen said she is leaving the Amish community for Danny and I think this episode shows the difference between Maureen and Rosanna, I feel as thought Maureen still has a traditional mindset and is only doing it for Daniel and to please him considering he has left the community whilst Rosanna i feel is doing it for herself and to become more open and learn more about the world and different ways of life and where people come from and how different their lives are, another episode Maureen was speaking about how the english were making fun of them when I believe they were just curious about the different lifestyle, kind of as if Maureen feels like she has to for the sake of love but Rosanna genuinely wants to by her own choice and to see what’s out there in the world and experience new possibilities and opportunities she ma not have had before

You aren't very familiar with this kind of thing. Here is Lancaster Pennsylvania area Amish are everywhere. Anyone who's not Amish is considered English. If you learned alittle bit about their history and culture it would help you to understand more.
I just went to Pennsylvania in August 2021 and i seen the amish community. But it wasnt like what they are saying now. Literally they went shopping at walmart and drank sodas and eat junk foods. But their housing situation was like the old days no electricity no plumbing no ac no heaters it was a sight to see.
There are different communities. Most of them I don't really understand where the line is. They can have cell phones because otherwise they wouldn't be competitive in the job market but they have to put it in a different building so that they still have to walk to it or something like that. They get sodas and convenience items. They even have Rumschpringe which is a window of time between 17 and 19 or something like that where they can leave and do "normal" things - usually they throw the craziest parties since they have a lot of catching up to do - and then they can choose to come back or excommunicate. There are more devout sects though that are very strict about how much contact they can have with the outside world. I assume this is one of the more strict ones.

Our parents don’t want us to look at magazines like this, because they think we might want to be like that. And what they feared turned out to be exactly that.
In my area we have an Amish supermarket that buys from all the big name brand warehouses in the area. They will buy the stuff they can’t sell. Damaged box, stuff that isn’t selling fast enough, etc. they also sell meat and cheese from their farms. I love going there. It’s so nice you can get a whole cart full of stuff for 100-200 dollars.
But, that’s the thing with the Amish, for them it’s a way of life and, they have very little knowledge of how the world actually operates. They live a life conformed to there religion.
One thing they're lucky to be without is addicting social media like Facebook, Instagram, etc. Some days "when I'm wishing I'd gotten more sleep before work) I wish I'd never started with that mess.
Their life is idyllic. Why would they want to join our warped, imbalanced way of living? I would love to live the way they do and working toward it now.

The part about “I don’t wanna pay for eggs I’ll just get chickens” is actually really insightful and smart. Before I continue, I understand not everyone has the space like a backyard for a couple chickens, but if people who did just got a couple pet chickens and stopped buying eggs from the grocery store, it would help our planet so much and save trillions of chickens lives. We have four chickens and four ducks. The ducks were adopted and the chickens we got from a family member who couldn’t keep them anymore. Hi there hope you’re doing fine...?
18. She said, “I take refuge from you in the Most Merciful, should you be righteous.”
19. He said, “I am only the messenger of your Lord, to give you the gift of a pure son.”
20. She said, “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, and I was never unchaste?”
21. He said, “Thus said your Lord, `It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign for humanity, and a mercy from Us. It is a matter already decided.'“
22. So she carried him, and secluded herself with him in a remote place.
23. The labor-pains came upon her, by the trunk of a palm-tree. She said, “I wish I had died before this, and been completely forgotten.”
24. Whereupon he called her from beneath her: “Do not worry; your Lord has placed a stream beneath you.
25. And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you, and it will drop ripe dates by you.”
26. “So eat, and drink, and be consoled. And if you see any human, say, ‘I have vowed a fast to the Most Gracious, so I will not speak to any human today.'“
27. Then she came to her people, carrying him. They said, “O Mary, you have done something terrible.
28. O sister of Aaron, your father was not an evil man, and your mother was not a whore.”
29. So she pointed to him. They said, “How can we speak to an infant in the crib?”
30. He said, “I am the servant of God. He has given me the Scripture, and made me a prophet.
31. And has made me blessed wherever I may be; and has enjoined on me prayer and charity, so long as I live.
32. And kind to my mother, and He did not make me a disobedient rebel.
33. So Peace is upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I get resurrected alive.”
34. That is Jesus son of Mary-the Word of truth about which they doubt.
35. It is not for God to have a child-glory be to Him. To have anything done, He says to it, “Be,” and it becomes.
36. “God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”
45. O my father, I fear that a punishment from the Most Gracious will afflict you, and you become an ally of the devil.”
46. He said, “Are you renouncing my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will stone you. So leave me alone for a while.”
47. He said, “Peace be upon you. I will ask my Lord to forgive you; He has been Kind to me.
48. And I will withdraw from you, and from what you pray to instead of God. And I will pray to my Lord, and I hope I will not be disappointed in my prayer to my Lord.”
Your Lord is never forgetful.”
65. Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. So worship Him, and persevere in His service. Do you know of anyone equal to Him?
66. And the human being says, “When I am dead, will I be brought back alive?”
73. When Our clear revelations are recited to them, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, “Which of the two parties is better in position, and superior in influence?”

Thank god I found a decent comment
When they say "English," they don't mean from England. English is another term for non-Amish Americans. Hope that clears things up.
I worked with the Amish. It is sad that they reject their children that live a different lifestyle.
Very sweet of them to agree being filmed..such sweet comments. 🎉
Maureen is so awesome. Love these ladies and their stories.

Mennonites do not m abstain from motor cars but there are *_old order_* Amish people
Ya know? The old ways
I used to see Amish at grocery stores all the time. They even had stables for their horse and buggies at Walmart!
There are different groups of Amish right? Like these girls might be from a more strict community?
@@tenor1190 no -- it is a reality show -- they have been to a supermarket before.
The Amish have a place to park their horses and buggies out side the University Hospital also...
Woulda loved seeing so,
many many more episodes of these two just shopping around at so many different places❤
J.lo inspired the Gworls to leave the Community,
Thats litterly all they purchased from the grocery store!
No wonder their parents didn't approve of magazines,.they wanted to change their whole lives in one episode an one shop...Beautiful girls,so sweet Hope their family will stick beside them no matter what!in the long run❤🙏🏽🦋
Our parents don’t want us to look at magazines like this, because they think we might want to be like that.
And what they feared turned out to be exactly that.
I love how she always wanted to look like Jlo😭😭😭
I agree. I have wanted to look like Jlo since I saw her in Selena.
Can’t they just get a cow and milk it ermm 🤣Not that easy can’t exactly put a cow in ur back garden

Exactly. Especially where I live in New Orleans

it was fun seeing another's perspective that hasn't been to that kind of store
7:09 Could someone, who is fluent in German, please translate the conversation Maureen had with their parents? I'm curious to know what was said
I want to know what they were saying in the house exactly. Wishing for subtitles (for the first time ever!)
They want us to buy a cow and milk it 🤣 would I do that before or after 5pm traffic?
Lol...u crack me up..
I’d probably kill myself if I tried
I like their innocent child-like banter. Very endearing!
I recently brought a shih Tzu puppy from the Amish community in Ohio and he is by far the stupidest dog I have ever had, but I ❤️ him
ahahahaha
🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not the dog it's the owner.
lmao
Amish definitely use puppy mills. They’re known for not being good to their animals
As a technolgoy person, I just don't understand how some people reject modern advances. The only thing that is constant is change! Embrace it.
@@LordPrometheous Totally agree with you!!
Their life is idyllic. Why would they want to join our warped, imbalanced way of living? I would love to live the way they do and working toward it now.
@@claire111 You can't stop progress. You can try, but life will leave you behind. Why live a sheltered life?? Yeah it would be great for like a week or two but not longer.
O moy gudness 😂 both of them are pure souls🙏 everybody could see that just the way they talk
Season 6 of Return to Amish was so good. Best reality TV I have seen in awhile. The story with Jeremiah was so awesome and these girls are so wholesome lol
They’re freaking awesome, I love them so much ❤️
If anyone tried to hurt my chooks or duckies I’d charcoal spitroast them 🙃
Incase anyone is wondering 😅 these are their names:
Ducks: Sandy, Hannah, Echo and Boy-Boy (three female, one male)
Chickens: Snowflake, Nugget, Honey and Treacle (all hens)
the only one named by my fam was Echo, the others already had their names when we got them. i personally love the chickens names though 😂
I love the name nugget for a chicken. Whoever gave that chick is name had a great sense of humour 😂😂
@@glitterlife2248 me too, it was my auntie haha I was very happy when told their names for the first time 😂

I worked in a grocery store for many years.... lol there's no way its that organized and faced. They definitely scrambled together to make everything look in tip tip shape for the cameras! Good job! I can only imagine how hectic it was lol
actually, Weiss markets where this is filmed, is a very neat and clean store (not saying that they did not put an extra shine on it for the film, but very clean)
Our main grocery stores are exactly like that, Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. But we pay for that choice and layout.
People forget that these scenes can be filmed in the morning when a store is restocked lol 🤣
Dude, you haven't seen our grocery stores. They're too organized. 😅
Not true! Where I live in the U.S., grocery stores look just like this.
Immaculate...thank goodness.
imagine the pressure of NEVER getting to go HOME again and see your own family, because you want to live on your own and live your own life. It's Crazy.
