I am mostly an observer. Plus, I got two so I dont think I can tame them.
Tho they are free to play outside of their cage and have each other for company.
One of my budgies can't get enough of me, she follows me everywhere I go.😅🐦

Well, the thing is, I got my red-rumped parrot from a woman who's husband is a bird breeder. He had many birds but, he passed away. His wife wouldn't take care of them so, she sold most of the birds, including Bo, my bird. He once had a female but she passed away, with him being the last red-rump. Since I got him, I tried giving him the best life I could, but I was young (good thing my dad is a veterinarian), and today, the bird mansion just arrived. I tried to get him a female too, but they are nowhere to be found (in my area). I had 3 options:
- wait
- get him a male red-rump ( not the safest option since male red-rumps are pretty aggressive to each other)
- buy a female budgie (what I said earlier)
So, I chose to wait a little more. :/
Update: We found one. I CAN'T BELIEVE WE FOUND A FEMALE RED-RUMP! And, maybe the GOD of birds ( a guy I met that helped me find a new cage, is a breeder and found a female) said that maybe he'll bring her by TOMORROW. I am so happy :D

@@ssm13040 Thank you și much! They got along really well. They even feed eachother! The female's name is Chicken because she is yellow. The birds live in a really big cage and get a lot of love, fresh air and veggies. I simply love them ♥️

You should restrict their roaming into one room only. Make sure this room is bird proof.

My bird hates me but loves the gift I brought him a female budgie it was love at first sight instantly shakes head dance the moment he saw her
It is true it takes alot of time i have 4 parakeets only one will sit in my hand and my 2 cocktails only 1 will sit on my fingers the other will fly close to me if i am sitting ona chair and i can stand close but will not step up

i recently got a parakeet and a budgie and their previous owner treated them terribly. they seem much happier but they dont like to be handled and i completely understand that but i just want to know other things i can do to make them more comfortable with me. they like to be hand fed but once i try to let my finger out they fly away😭
My canary was tramazized by my mom when she tries to cut his nails she cut the vain and we paniced because we weren't pepered and a lot of tramazizing stuff happened while we were trying to stop the bleeding hopefully hes ok now we repaid him by buying him a female a as friend and has now acting as normal as he was befor the thing😅

😭😭😭😭 my bird will never come on my hand when I ask it to but I know it doesn't hate me cause it would spend every second with me. So yeah it just annoys me
My birds love millet but hate hands. I have had them step up with one foot briefly on my finger but then they back off. I guess it's a long process.
My birds hate me for a few reasons:
1: at the time of getting the birds, we didn't know that we were supposed to get a baby bird
Not an adult
It's been 2 years and the still avoid me at all costs despite everything
2: they are very anxious for some unknown reason
3: when we got out birds, we had a lot of time to spend with them
But now I'm so busy with school that I hardly have any time to spend with them
4: ever since they laid eggs and they never hatched, the became over protective towards me again ( there goes all that hard work for taming 😂 😭 )

Thanks so much for this helpful video! I recently got a new budgie named Omelet, who is now the only female in the cage. (With Ziggy and Pumpkin). I noticed that Ziggy and Pumpkin are a bit more spooked and don't eat from my hand or take their nibbles anymore. Can Omelet be affecting them?
Yes, it’s normal for budgies to act a little different when a new budgie is accepted into the flock.
You should give them some more time to adjust and make sure they won’t be stressed over sharing food, toys, etc.

Is it ok to give your Birds a bath?
Yes! Just give it a shallow container of lukewarm/room temperature water (2 inches max deep), and they will start shaking and bathing themselves in it

Just continue taming him to get on your finger, patience is a virtue
