Thank you for your comments. Can't believe it's almost been a year. My budgie is doing very well and 2 months ago I bought a second budgie to keep her company when I'm away at work. They are settling in well.
The only thing I struggle with is cleaning the cage, but people actually hit their birds?! I can’t imagine getting angry at my babies, let alone HITTING them :(
Yeah, they poop faster than anyone can clean with the best of efforts. During stressful times, it's quite overwhelming when you've got multiple birds. Which of course I have, to make them happy. I don't find cleaning the bottom of the cage to be much of a hassle, that's quickly done. But oh boy, to keep the walls of the cage and the perches clean is a lot of work. And furthermore, deep cleaning the cage means disassembling, scrubbing and showering the parts in the bathtub and then assembling it back again. Takes me a workday to deep clean the cage, all while my birds complain and scream at me for messing up their lives that day. 🙈🙈
I had many budgies as a kid and nobody ever showed me how to properly handle them. Looking back I was physically abusive to them and it makes me very sad to the point where I cry if I think about it too much. I had to learn the hard way and I do not treat any animals like this now, but I feel like the guilt will never go away until I see them again and tell them I am sorry.

Well both of my budgies were clipped when they first came to me (because I got them from uncle bills) but Shawn is my oldest budgie I am guessing because he is a pro at flying and grew back his feathers faster than Gus. Gus though is NOT a pro at flying and sometimes runs into walls. I have a bed that has a ledge and before I lined the bed with blankets (btw I cover all the furniture that they could get stuck behind) Gus was flying around the room and got on one of the ledges, I offered him an extra perch but he wouldn’t go on (this was before he was perch trained) and so he fell into the crack! I used my robe in between the bed and the wall and gently moved him out (he hasn’t had one of those incidents cense).
Shawn is the most trusting, though both of them trust me he loves to get on my shoulder and move up and down my arm. But sometimes I do have to give him millet to get on.

Thanks for the information, but I don’t need it, it’s my next door neighbours, my neighbours are very mean and one day I had the courage to to go see my neighbours to get something because my brother threw a ball, okay let’s get to it, my neighbours smoke near a parrot, I know this because they told me, what I also find sad is because they never let the bird out the parrot also has a tiny cage and plus the bird is huge and guess what it’s a decoration I’ve had six birds and they were treated well, I’ve had to put a blanket on their cage because my birds never done anything wrong but it’s because my country is very light at night but they liked it anyway because it made them sleep well other than that I only have one bird now named Chico he loves my family he plays a lot and his cage has a ton and when I say a ton I mean a TON he has a swing a ball to play with a bird feeder a water feeder and almost everything he has his best life I can stroke my bird always has time with me I give my bird fresh food and fresh water he loves it my bird is a bit like neo he is so playful and next to his room is a ladder that he loves either way I’m on vacation in two weeks we’re going to bring my bird to the vet with experts and with 3 budgies to play with and annoy he will also show off we’ll see him in two weeks on vacation I’m gonna cry but my has the best life and he’s survived for long we’ve also made a rule DONT slam the doors they scare my bird and if you put a bird on the door and slam that’s a nother rule
I have a question because I’m in a 5 roomed apartment, it’s hard making my videos when birds keep making noise it’s always hard to call, film, do any hobbies without then shutting up, what do I do?
My grandparents bought 2 budgies and 1 cage. The cage itself was small, and to make it worse, they bought the birds just for decoration. When I came over to my grandmas house, I took the birds into my room for some attention. Those birds don't have any toys, and live with just a small hanging perch in their cage. They NEVER cleaned the cage, so when I saved them, i actually did research and im trying to actually help the poor birds. My grandparents are telling me that I'm being annoying or caring for them too much, but I just want them to live the best life they can. On one occasion, my grandpa blew a huge puff of smoke indoors where the birds were. As I was moving the birds away from the smoke, my grandpa looked at me and said,"What are you doing?" And when I explained it to him he said,"Well what about when a wildfire happens in nature?!??!?" I'm just so annoyed that they don't even care at all for these innocent creature 😞.
Its been a week since i bought my budgies from my brother. I was fixing in toys for my budgies today, and guess what, one of them flew away. Idk what that makes me since im new to bird owning😅
what if my budgie doesnt want to come out?its pretty quite for the past few days and even after opening the cage for near an hour it doesnt seem to come out
My bird was not tamed and I’ve had him 3 weeks. He still freaks when I clean his cage or change out his food and water. I work from home I’m with him all day. He has toys and large cage I try giving him millet he does take it sometimes. Need help
Hey Salvador um every time I bring my budgies out of the cage they go on the window and not come down the only way to get them down to try to tame them is clipping their wings but i don’t want to do that so any other ways to get them down
I have a budgie and have had him for about a month, but it's taking longer than I thought to tame him. My other budgie is already tamed even though I got him one week after my first one. I let my tamed bird out every day but am too scared to let my untamed bird out because he flies quick and fast. They have a big castle-shaped cage with many and many toys plus a variety of food. I also keep the cage in the nature-themed area of my house where sunlight is 24/7 and surrounded by plants and pictures of forests. Is it okay for me to keep my bird in its cage while I'm still trying to get him to at least learn to step up onto my finger?
Yes, Every bird is different so don’t compare 😇also some videos also say teaching your bird to step up on your finger is recommended before letting it out of it’s cage. And i love your background forest theme🤩
@@Wwasgud thank you, though he only steps up when he wants. We began letting him out of the cage months ago. Now he knows the entire map of the house and flies all over the place, he dosent like being touched but when he's in the mood or in a new environment, he will step onto my finger. (BTW my other bird Mangoe, the one I was comparing him with died. But it's okay beacuse I got him a new friend, and she's super tamed)
I would never ever pushed my pet bird it's so cute actually have two of them but I can't take them because they always get distracted but I still love them
so it's being poor, being loud, being nocturnal and having little to no space for a cage, not knowing to deal with their curiousty & being frustrated, & continuing the cycle of abuse. It is also listening to a boomer's idea of animals & letting them scare you out of your better judgement regardless of the fact they meant well & being desperate for your bird's affection & hope it has opened up to you. Thankfully I never punished my birds, but they were in my bedroom & I didn't have enough money for a vet...
i find having a bird lot like having a kids you can give em a lvoign home or not, you can be poor and still love and give them affection, truthfully i have umbrella cockatoo other tehn thing sto chew on he has tons of toys. just love him. give em as much time as you can most people dont have time anyway so you giving them some is better then none if espcialy if they are rescue that cant be around other birds, bird proof lving room , check it regular , do the best you can do and love em, my bird has a cage just incase to protect him while im cleaning but realisty the whole living room is been adjusted to him so hes free to move around do as he pleases fly back and forth . also you can fuck up ive fucked up so many times with my umbrella cockatoo and he still forgives me. Each bird is different. each bird has different personality, you have to learn them and thats the biggest pros and cons to resuce vs new bird. Rescue you know personality from rescue but may not know historyand may have problems. Baby you can feed them right from get go and teacht them but you wont know their personailty,. also its like dealing iwth a toddler, Birds are complex each one is complex personailty, these videos really overly simply a complex being that is lessa pet and a terrible pet and can be a wonderful companion if you treat them respect as you would someone else. unfortuantly most people are stupid and pieces of shit. Im told having an umbrella cockatoo is the most difficult parrot to have, my friend has one too. WE both agree bird experts kinda jsut suck, and you just gott love respect, as far as anything else you can fuck up and bird will be fine cuz Birds do understand in a way the effort you put foward. they are stupid little shits, but smart enough. Smart enough to get their dumbasses into trouble thats why i have my little retard on a leash when we go out cuz he will let a cat eat him the stupid little fucker. does not know how fucking lucky he is i want to let him off but cant jesus fucking christ a eagle, hawk, gooose, fuckign everything want sto fuck up or eat my guy its why i have the leash. like seriously whoever said its horrible tohave parrots as pets is a moron!, im like ivesaved this guy like 5 or 7 times thankfully because of having a leash , and one time because i got between him and the eagle since leash isnt always enough. but do you know what eagle talons are like several feeet from your face,!? a blur thats what they look like a blur cuz that shit goes down FAST AS FUCK. ever see the 115 year old parrot no feathers they could not live that long in the wild. being unable to fly or keeep themselves warm throught the cold season yes there are lots of cons and less of a regular bird life but they dont have to contend with nature either which hey neither do us humans thankfully. con is bird doesnt have a normal regular bird life and get to have all of what life could offer for them in the wild, the pro is they dont have all the many many shitty sad horrrible ways they can die in the wild, and they can live a longer life thats also happier, if they dont have a piece of shit human.
Tysm!!!!❤❤ Btw my bird killed my birds baby 😢 i had to seperate it whenever i keep it in it always fights can u tell me what to do ?? even when i try and got a pair it killed that poor bird 😢😢😢😢 Btw I am a breeding owner who would sell them? They have done it around 16 times!!!
I just Got my Big neo the budgies got freaked out now some hours later they have become friends he is already tamed do i need to tame him again if he was already tamed
I do some of these mistakes but it's because there not trained. I can't take them out of there cage because the would just fly out and be lost or get out of control. And I can't clean there cage because if I put my hand in there cage, they would get out of control and bite and poop everywhere, and I've been looking for videos on how to train your bird inside there cage but there would never be any results.
there maybe a lot of thing bad was doing that i did not know. And yes. “WAS” Because my bird died a year ago due to suffocation. i struggled with its diet. and did not know how to clean its cage. the cage was pretty small because the cockatiel was young. i did not know that bird water bottles are very important. so i used an open cap to fill water AND Food. Luckily, I cleaned the water bucket everyday and replaced the water because it kept getting dirty. I kept it there, I also put a feeding rack for it. just in case. i may have overtamed it because it starts calling for me when i exit it’s room. R.I.P. Bubbles (You will be missed)
Tysm the last days I had MUCH work to do and had not enough time for my birds tomorrow I’m gonna spend more time with my birds and clean their cage btw I love your vids
Hey I have a question how can I let my bird out if it’s not trained and they are scared of me every time I open their cage they get scared and refused to come out even if I give them treats they steal be scared of me I had them for a month now and Always tried to train them but nothing worked So how do I make my bird out his cage if Tho it’s not trained well well a playground work?
i got my first bird in the 6th grade i learned alot of what to do and i was a really good owner but this year i feel into such a bad depression that i didnt really take good care of them and i feel so bad about it everything i do wrong will imidetly be fixed (i have 2 birds but i needed to get rid of one becuse she was so mean and like distructive that i had to let her get rehomed she is in a small care rn witch is her transport cage becuse she found a way out of the big one and started eating the walls and tunnling so she will only be in that cage for 2 more days befor getting her new owner)
i have 2 females sisters - a blue and a green one - they came to me 3 months appart and i feed the blue one by hand, the green one loves to bit me in my fingers and i cannot release her in the house unlike the blue one... i let her out and when she is tired she goes home,,,, i will try to release the green one and wait until she finds her way back into the cage.. i am also looking for a bigger one,
I used to be a vwary good owner now with the new birds I cannot,I am cleaning after them and everything but they bite me alot and I cant train them wich makes me a little more distant with them. I just want to try and teach them but it's hard because I always bleed.
I catch my bird to either take it out of cage or inside cage and I hand tamed it but it is still scared but it’s getting calm but I hope I’m not a bad owner
"Punishing your bird." While I agree in most cases you are correct, but in some cases you can use certain types of reinforcement to sway your Parrot away from said unwanted behaviors, and this usually only works for CERTAIN types of parrots. For example. You own an African Grey (a HIGHLY intelligent parrot). Let's say you don't want it to do XYZ because the behavior is potentially harmful to itself and/or it's highly destructive in general which could cost you lots of money in repair/replacement. In those situations I would just tell the bird No right when it's doing the behavior, and then I would put the Parrot in it's cage for 1 hour, then take it back out again. Another big thing is to give it lots of love and pets / positive reinforcement when it is NOT doing the behavior. Then repeat this ad nauseum until it finally learns to not do XYZ. This can work but it takes a LONG time - and it takes patience - and I would only do this for only extreme behaviors that again would pose it self harm or end up costing you a fortune in repairs. For smaller breeds of parrots that's a tough one - since not all of them are intelligent enough like Grey's to easily learn from simple reinforcement modification behavior techniques like that. In those cases you can try getting it different kinds of toys to distract it from those behaviors for them - or you must find ways to work around the issue that do not involve the Parrot/Parrotlet directly. Big Caveat: If the parrot is plucking it's own feathers out - You need to take your Pet to a Vet ASAP - as they can have an underlying medical issue - and it may take time and MULTIPLE vet visits for that behavior to be corrected. In some cases it may never be corrected (which is sad - but those are rare - and at the very least you have ruled out anything medical by taking it to the vet!). When it comes to "how good of an owner" I am. I know I am not the best owner out there - hands down. That being said though - I love my African Grey like a family member. I am thankful to have him in my life. However I will admit there are some days where I am just so busy I do not have time to give him the attention he deserves - and some days he will go most of the day without my interaction. However on the days I do have extra time I always try to make up for that by giving him as much attention as possible :) I've been told to not let the parrots hang out and relax on my shoulders - but I do this frequently - especially if it's during a time when I want to play some games on my PC. So I'll just be gaming on my PC and my parrots will be chilling out on my shoulders - and I'll be petting them at moments where the game does not need my attention. Speaking of which I need to go give them some pets and put them to bed right now. Cheers and GL everyone. Remember none of us are perfect - just do the best you can when you can, show your pets love and affection and always let them know that they are in your hearts - and they will understand on some basic level (I hope) when there are days you cannot do everything 100%.
I rescued a budgie 7 days ago. Never owned a pet before. I am binge watching all your videos to make sure I do a good job.

What should I do if I want a pet bird but like to play violin
Will this scare the bird?
love the video! ❤
Its been a week since i bought my budgies from my brother. I was fixing in toys for my budgies today, and guess what, one of them flew away. Idk what that makes me since im new to bird owning😅
Thanks for the guide
9:58 blue feet 🥹💕🤗 Mine have pink
Mine too
It's definitely a female budgie then
If i cover up my birds cage with a towel at night when we’re going to bed is that bad?
^up
Heat and used up air can Store up under a Cover. Especially over the course of several hours.
what if my budgie doesnt want to come out?its pretty quite for the past few days and even after opening the cage for near an hour it doesnt seem to come out
But my birds aren’t used to coming out the cage yet do I need to start doing that?
My bird was not tamed and I’ve had him 3 weeks. He still freaks when I clean his cage or change out his food and water. I work from home I’m with him all day. He has toys and large cage I try giving him millet he does take it sometimes. Need help
how can I train my yellow-side cornure ?
Sometimes I pick them up without there will because they won't voluntarily go I there cage
what do I do my birds do not want to come out but hes saying to let them out
i find having a bird lot like having a kids you can give em a lvoign home or not, you can be poor and still love and give them affection, truthfully i have umbrella cockatoo other tehn thing sto chew on he has tons of toys. just love him. give em as much time as you can most people dont have time anyway so you giving them some is better then none if espcialy if they are rescue that cant be around other birds, bird proof lving room , check it regular , do the best you can do and love em, my bird has a cage just incase to protect him while im cleaning but realisty the whole living room is been adjusted to him so hes free to move around do as he pleases fly back and forth . also you can fuck up ive fucked up so many times with my umbrella cockatoo and he still forgives me.
Thanks for the tutorial! Will definetely try on my birds.
What's the plant that you have hanging in your birds cage? I would like to add some plants to the top of mine 🥰🌿 Only if they're safe of course!
It’s Mortimer from Craig of the creek
I have a question about your bluebird why is it missing feathers

Tysm!!!!❤❤ Btw my bird killed my birds baby 😢 i had to seperate it whenever i keep it in it always fights can u tell me what to do ??
even when i try and got a pair it killed that poor bird 😢😢😢😢
Btw I am a breeding owner who would sell them? They have done it around 16 times!!!
Ive tamed a robin it has a nest on my porch and reuses it.
I just Got my Big neo the budgies got freaked out now some hours later they have become friends he is already tamed do i need to tame him again if he was already tamed
My bird stays in the same 2 spots almost 24/7 it doesn't jump or fly around 🙁is it a bad thing?
I do some of these mistakes but it's because there not trained. I can't take them out of there cage because the would just fly out and be lost or get out of control. And I can't clean there cage because if I put my hand in there cage, they would get out of control and bite and poop everywhere, and I've been looking for videos on how to train your bird inside there cage but there would never be any results.
there maybe a lot of thing bad was doing that i did not know.
And yes. “WAS”
Because my bird died a year ago due to suffocation.
i struggled with its diet. and did not know how to clean its cage. the cage was pretty small because the cockatiel was young.
i did not know that bird water bottles are very important.
so i used an open cap to fill water AND Food.
5:49 i can not do because my apartment is filled with spaces my bird could get stuck in and die from to
So I wish I could let my bird out but I'm worried that if I let them out they'll take it as an opportunity to leave what do I do
How many birds is a bucket?
Tysm the last days I had MUCH work to do and had not enough time for my birds tomorrow I’m gonna spend more time with my birds and clean their cage btw I love your vids
That is a cute budge bird 🐦😂😂 btw I own a budge bird
Happy that im not from one of them :)
i love my budgies.
I dont have a big cage what should i do😢
What should I do if my bird won’t come out of her cage? She used to, but in the last few weeks, she hasn’t wanted to come out at all.
If she used to get out and be playful, it may mean that something is wrong, I would take her for a check up.
I mean heart
I sometimes pick my bird up, because I want it tame.
I have two adult birds and they're somewhat scared of humans. How do I let them out of the cage without having to chase them to get into the cage?
Hey I have a question how can I let my bird out if it’s not trained and they are scared of me every time I open their cage they get scared and refused to come out even if I give them treats they steal be scared of me I had them for a month now and Always tried to train them but nothing worked So how do I make my bird out his cage if Tho it’s not trained well well a playground work?
Patience 😌💙
make it tame, dont let it out when not tame, they will be more scared and they dont wanna come back
just put your finger in the cage and stay still every day for about 5 minutes, maybe longer, Bird Nuggets made an video about this 😊
Get a big cage? I have two budgies, they're cage is 152 cm wide, 182 cm tall and 152 cm deep (6x5x5 feet) (ABRS-UK)
i got my first bird in the 6th grade i learned alot of what to do and i was a really good owner but this year i feel into such a bad depression that i didnt really take good care of them and i feel so bad about it everything i do wrong will imidetly be fixed (i have 2 birds but i needed to get rid of one becuse she was so mean and like distructive that i had to let her get rehomed she is in a small care rn witch is her transport cage becuse she found a way out of the big one and started eating the walls and tunnling so she will only be in that cage for 2 more days befor getting her new owner)
i have 2 females sisters - a blue and a green one - they came to me 3 months appart and i feed the blue one by hand, the green one loves to bit me in my fingers and i cannot release her in the house unlike the blue one... i let her out and when she is tired she goes home,,,, i will try to release the green one and wait until she finds her way back into the cage.. i am also looking for a bigger one,
4:39 does it have the same rules for big birds?
also my mom wants my birds to have a baby but she wants to sell the baby but luckily i Forced her not to
So beautiful ❤
And can u show how to make a bird proof room?
I used to be a vwary good owner now with the new birds I cannot,I am cleaning after them and everything but they bite me alot and I cant train them wich makes me a little more distant with them. I just want to try and teach them but it's hard because I always bleed.
Dude my friend hits his bird not very hard but slowly and still his bird likes him and I never hit but kiss it but still it bites me what can I do ?
Hey bro
Plz make vdo about cage i making new cage on next 2 days
Show your cage
Love from india
This is a new one.
Yes
Why would i heatt my one bird
Is it okay to cover your budgies cage with a sheet at night so it more dark for them to sleep in?
That is good actually
Dont play pop music when your bird is more into dubstep as this will make your bird think that you are absolutely tasteless
I have a budgie rn but we dont have enough money/space to buy a big cage for her
I catch my bird to either take it out of cage or inside cage and I hand tamed it but it is still scared but it’s getting calm but I hope I’m not a bad owner
my little green friend, just destroyed my finger, i said: ouch! but i tried to make it in a way it won't scare him
"Punishing your bird." While I agree in most cases you are correct, but in some cases you can use certain types of reinforcement to sway your Parrot away from said unwanted behaviors, and this usually only works for CERTAIN types of parrots.
However on the days I do have extra time I always try to make up for that by giving him as much attention as possible :)
I've been told to not let the parrots hang out and relax on my shoulders - but I do this frequently - especially if it's during a time when I want to play some games on my PC.
