[Quick Info]
The (6) is the Lexington Avenue Line's only local train (along with the Diamond (6) during the rush) and runs between Pelham Bay Park in The Bronx and Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan via the City Hall Loop.
As mentioned in the video, the (6) line is the very first subway line in the entire system.
The equipment the line uses currently are mainly Bombardier R-62As and a few Kawasaki R-142As, with an occasional R-142 from the (4). The line is based out of Westchester Yard.

I live by the Parkchester station and I take the (6) everyday and they use the R62As but I really miss the R142As as I used to ride them all the time when I was younger 😢

I used to ride the 6 train a LOOOOOT since I lived on the east side. I became very acquainted with the R142A in the process.

I ride the 6 for a very long time, from PBP or other stations. It's sad to c the 142A's headed to the 7 line. but 6.5 [minority] car fleets [7591-7655], while 62A is the majority.
Let's be honest: crowding has gone down since the opening of the SAS, but it's still pretty crowded as we speak.
Oh yeah and no more R142A 6 trains since 2018.
Do the green 9 now. And the red 6. Those will be fun since they don’t exist!

Cdai Massey Now it’s just the 4 line. In the near future, 15 R142s will go to the 42nd Street Shuttle, and the R62As there will be moved to the 1 and 6.

Brigada Gutierrez Not really necessary since there is an easy cross platform transfer to the 4 and 5 at Brooklyn Bridge and once you get to Bowling Green, South Ferry is only a 5 minute walk away.

I wish the 6 and 7 switched less equipment. That way the 6 would still be the best of Lexington and the 7 will be almost flawless.
Arif Akyuz Why? It would be more desirable to have the 7 operate with all NTTs to supply extra trains for the CBTC installation and the 7 line extension, while the 6 gets R62As to boost service.
I hadn’t considered that old tech trains would be difficult to run on lines equipped with CBCTC. I suppose it is all for the best. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
