I still love that intro! When I first saw that long ago, I had struggles fully understanding why and what was the point. But now, I understand the genius of it. It's supposed to represent all the annoying fans constantly begging y'all to do the (4) train review. Without a doubt one of the best Super Subway Bros. intros of all time! I personally don't really care much on what they put on the (4). Whether it be R142s, R142As or R62/As. But if I had to choose, it would probably be either the R142As or the R62As.
The only way for the Jerome Express to work would be to rebuild four local stations to be express stations (and maybe more depending on how the stations would be payed out). The four I am talking about are Mosholu Parkway, Lehman College, Fordham Road, and Yankee Stadium. These local stops are always filled to the brim, and they would heavily benefit the express service should these be express stations.
Yup they’ll do that for sure. Sometimes when the 6 gets taken out of service temporarily they get a different train line to replace it so they usually use the 4 to replace the 6 at times you’ll also see on late nights the 6 run to 149th Street-Grand Concourse so they’ll put the 4 in as a substitute train to run to Pelham Bay Park on late nights as well if all 6 trains terminated in Melrose at 149th Street-Grand Concourse, also the 4 and 6 are very multipurpose trains just like the 5 because they cover all lines that are needed to be filled in by a train to patch up the hole made, so like if there was a hole in the 4 line with one train missing they would send the 5 up that way to help out, maybe even the 3 on a good day since the 3 originally ran from South Ferry on the elevated station in Lower Manhattan to either 167th Street, Burnside Avenue, or Fordham Road in The Bronx until the 9th Avenue elevated line was completely demolished between West 155th Street and South Ferry then once the Giants MLB team moved out west to San Fransisco with the long gone but never forgotten Brooklyn Dodgers they took the Polo Grounds Shuttle out of existence after the 3 was cut back to West Harlem at the current Harlem-148th Street station that they have been at since they were permanently relocated there, also if the 2 or 5 trains are disrupted they would send the 4 or 6 onto the White Plains Road/Dyre Avenue line to replace them until further notice, also if you take a look at the 2000 Subway Series game at Yankee Stadium when the old Yankee Stadium was still there you could see a blue Mets R33 Redbird 7 train pulled from the museum and coming into the Yankee Stadium vicinity but unfortunately they don’t do that as much anymore because in 2000 it was the very first Subway Series game in The Bronx and their very first ever one was in Queens at the long gone but never forgotten Shea Stadium which Citi Field now holds the Mets in which Citi Field is basically a disguised version of Ebbets Field because it has the outer shell of Ebbets Field and they added some stand replicas taken from another stadium so it’s cool to see that. But if we think about how they were able to get an old train to be the 7 train with the royal blue color from the former Brooklyn Dodgers (currently Los Angeles Dodgers) and the orange New York logo from the former New York Giants (currently San Francisco Giants) aka a Mets train to also be as a 7 train then it would only run this route: between Grand Central-42nd Street and 161st Street-Yankee Stadium for only 72-80 hours and then go back to the museum and let the number 7 go back to it’s home train line until the next time the Yankees host the Mets.
Well if the City of New York did not tear down the 9th Ave EL in Manhattan in the 1940s that was connected to the Jerome Ave Line (there are trackage stubs that go down between 167 st station and 161 st station), then there might be express service on Jerome.
Every July 4th I take the 4 train to Atlantic Avenue Barclays Center to catch the Q train to Coney Island Stillwell Avenue to see Joey "Jaws" Chestnut at the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest! And I keep myself occupied by playing Kirby And The Forgotten Land until we're 5 stops away from Atlantic Avenue Barclays Center!
I see you've never heard the 6 train announcements when it's extended to Bowling Green while the tracks to City Hall loop are under construction. I mean the 6 train goes from normal to ow-my-ears-hurt aka yelling
My late grandparents lived on Mosholu Parkway until these following dates: February 23rd 2016 and November 30th 2019 the dates they both died on my late grandfather died on February 23rd 2016 and my late grandmother died on November 30th 2019 both were in their 70s when they died my late grandmother being 79 and my late grandfather being 74. I miss them to this day and their apartment but overall I still get to go their grave that they share and pray to them from the grade level of their grave to the kingdom of heaven where our prayers are answered by the lord and my late grandparents
Mta please bring a irt line to queens with the 7 line,it should be the 8 train,I think it should run between 34 st and fushing main st with the 7 as a skip stop train.
Like ever since the 9 train (your damn favorite IRT train) died, the 1 was the shit! Heck, two times going in both directions on the 1, downtown and uptown, the 1 went express from 145th Street on Broadway to 96th Street where it met with the 2 and 3 trains! *Red Rocket!* especially now with COVID-19,It still rock good shit on its own into those damn stations including my home station 157th Street!
Those never existed in the IRT. The BMT used 10 for the M, 11 for the MJ, and for an el over Lexington ave in Brooklyn. The latter half of the three are things I have no idea what their modern designation would be. The Fulton street El(13) has hardly anything left. Only a couple stations on the L and everything east of grant ave on the A(Lefferts only). BMT 14 and 15 are the J and Z, maybe one to nassau street and the other being elevated in manhattan? 16 is now the L.
i always take the 4 during the summer but i only do that because i like the r142a but now parkchester is my home station its all fucked up now during rush hours and you know what happens with rush hours all fucking chaos happens
The mta should run a irt holiday train with the train of many colors before Xmas, each weekend afternoon thanksgiving the train of many colors will run on 1,3,4,5 lines, mta please do this, and run the train of many colors with the low v on the for the Yankees opener, because the train of many colors can’t run on the 7 train because of cbtc.
Zero Point KKTK TPTS AVGCP AEDCP AFC AFR AFTL AFTW that makes no sense if the 1 goes to 242 street after 242 street there is nothing it’s the last stop the 9 is just an express version of the 1
Are used to have a girlfriend up on 170th St. sometimes I would take the number for train up there if I was on the Eastside of Manhattan, otherwise I would take the D train at 59th St. all I can tell you is that in the 1980s the 4 train was interesting I’m just gonna leave it at that. And if you took it late at night, sometimes after midnight I remember walking down those stairs did Jerome Avenue, that was its own set of challenges let’s just put it that way
Nice video. The 4 is definitely not the queen of the IRT. The 5 always got priority at 138 Street whenever I was on the 4. A couple of times the switches failed and we had to go back to 149 St. I would say the 1 is the queen of the IRT.
i know where you live and you live closse to me see Van cortland av go up and at rochambue av make a right turn the first apartment building the peach one thats where i live
Daniel Boateng If the 5 train was the leader and king of the irt then why the 4 train and 6 is more use and 5 is an irrelevant train at a certain time and or days ? 🤔

@Mr. Smith 22202 Really? Why?

but will the 9 train be reviewed at some point, even though it's been discontinued since 2005?

I hate the (4) Train
The 4 train is terrible it needs to improve on its time people always crowd 5 train is the king of IRT and Lexington avenue is better then the 4 train
E Z Borenstein the 5 is the leader the 9 is cancled
No 5 is the leader of IRT Lexington avenue and white plains
Both of are terrible now unfortunately.
The 5 sucks even worse because it has to share with the 2 most of the route. Always delays. Worst out of all the numbered lines imo
