    [Quick Info]
    The (D) Line, which runs from 205th Street in the Norwood section of The Bronx to Coney Island, Brooklyn, is a line that has one to many jokes about it. Because well....it's the (D)!
    FUN FACT:
    When the Manhattan Bridge was under construction in 1986, (D) Trains were split in two sections: Manhattan/Bronx Section was the current orange (D) and the Manhattan/Brooklyn Section was the yellow (D), which ran with the (Q). During that time, (D) and (Q) Trains performed Skip-Stop service along Brighton. Instead of two Skip-Stop lines [(1)/(9) & (J)/(Z)], there were three!
    The equipment the line uses currently are mainly Westinghouse R68s and the line is based out of Concourse Yard (with extra trains at Coney Island Yard).

    in all honesty i think the MTA should give the D trains R68's to the N line while the N shares some R160's with the D and at least have 1 D train with an R46 from the R or F trains

      AndyCoolGames We don’t need R160s on the D. All they need to do for now is tune up the R68s through the SMS program.

      You must start on the D train, then travel to 59th st to transfer to the A, then travel to West 4th st to transfer to the M, and travel to 34th st Herald sq to transfer to the N train. Once you get on that N train, you'll find that DAMN fourth chaos emerald.

    The D now goes to and from 205 street and bay 50th street. It sometimes goes to Bedford park during rush hours.

    Pretty sure this video has to be older than the posted date. Anyway I like the D as its the only letter designated train to go to the bronx full time. But thats said the line is irritating cause of long wait times between trains even sometimes during rush hours. Also the crap the thats the B and D trains in the bronx as its when during rush hours a find system would be useful to know when the B is local and D is express in the bronx. It's 1 of those times when a R160 be useful on the concourse line or even an upgrade to R68.
    Lastly the D last stop in the bronx as I believe MTA should have continued its age old plan of extending the concourse past 205 st. which my opinion is extend it to co-op city through gun hill road.

      Hey 5hat can be useful because Do to the fact that the (B) and (D) trains are the only two lettered line trains to go up to the Bronx makes a perfect opportunity to help those people who don't have a car and work in Manhattan to have a better way to get to work and also the closes train is the (6) train and because of the beat up R62A cars also helps a better smooth train ride

    Edit:The (D) has a load full of R68s in the Concorse Yard too bad they won't give them up. Probably would be the last train to ever have Alstoms or Kawasaki R160's or R179 OR even better somewhere in the future.

    The D is one of the trains I ride the most, ans always riding the R68s and occasional R68A is boring as hell, they need some variety on the D, especially some R160s A or B

    If there was R160s and R179s on the B and D lines then I will have the same reaction when I saw an R179 s on the A and C lines

    The D train(and concourse line in general)is boring as hell. It’s just the r68’s and nothing interesting shows up here. I think the B should at least get 160’s
    Shit is unreliable too especially towards the Bronx
