Actually, the conductor is the guy you see in the middle, usually pointing at a black and white sign. That indicates that the Train Operator/Motorman, or T/O for short, has correctly stopped at the station

Almost 9 years later the shooting happened at this same exact station. I also remember when my classmate mentioned about watching this video at school since 4 grade I believe and found the video after finishing elementary school but never saw him again.

I used to watch this religiously in the 8th grade. I don’t know what my obsession was with this video but there was something about it that I just loved
I gotta say well done this is very funny sketch and cute at the same time people encouraging the D train to not be scared. For a second thought I thought this is going to be a jump scare at first or that D train will jump at the bully. He just a D train that is scared. Great job

This video reminds me back in the late 70's when I was waiting at the train station with my mother and grandmother waiting for the double RR train to arrive and when the train was coming it stopped in the middle of the tunnel and wasn't coming to the station. I told my grandmother why did the train stop in the tunnel? Is the train on it's coffee brake? I actually thought the train itself was drinking coffee. Not the driver but the train itself. After 15 or so minutes the train came to the station. And I was actually talking to the train on why it was taking it's coffee brake and not coming to the station. I was only 4 or 5 years old at the time I think. It's nice to still remember stuff that I did from such very long time ago. So I wanna thank you for posting this video because it brought back a lot of memories for me from when I was a little kid in those days :)

The new subway trains need a lot of preparation. The older trains would just zoom in full speed and immediately stop at the end. This poor little train must’ve been too shy. 😂

I love the D train. Always there at 36th street, waiting for me to get off the R train and head over to it. Always there to take me directly to Atlantic Avenue without making a stop at any of those local stations. Although you usually lose to a race against the R, you are still a lot more reliable and on time. I love it when you pass an R train stopped at 9th street while I’m onboard to see it.

I suddenly remember one episode from Thomas the locomotive..
In that ep a new train, proud of its youth (still bright colours), was scared to move away from under a bridge because the rain could harm it.. And he developed more fear over time while staying there. Remember, it's a kids show.. What did the humans do? They weren't nice, they honestly immured / walled it in under that bridge and the episode ends there. With a sentence similar to "if he doesn't wanna listen, he has to feel." just that they never showed enough empathy.
For real, what should children even learn from that? "Obey us elders"?
