Fact:The 42nd street shuttle’s internally the 0 train. It doesn’t need to exist. At YYZ airport, there is some fast moving walkways that could easily replace the shuttle, connecting them as one station. A single station for all of IRT.
Except that the shuttle gets tons of ridership that a simple little tramway couldn't handle. It's purpose is to handle the overflow from the 7. It's not going anywhere so please let this pipe dream go.

Knuckles I heard that Cuomo and the RPA team is considering extending the 1 train to Red Hook for the project of the residents of Red Hook and the rehabilitation of the neighborhood and people in the same latter having access to lower Manhattan directly without a hassle with the F train and all this other stuff so I’m just letting u know that I saw the list of the Red Hook Rehabilitating project and the extension of the 1 train was actually in the RPA’s list in visualization of ppl from RH with direct access to lower Manhattan and to take the steam out of the oven the MTA under the hands of the RPA is also considering bringing back the 9 train from the dead. I haven’t confirmed the visualization if if the 1 train would be extended there with the 9 to SF or the 9 train doing the extension and the 1 train staying at SF so just letting u know that this is something you really need to see for yourself because this is something Cuomo is actually considering himself. Plus what review is next

If the 9 train came back I think it should go from 242 Van cordaline park to Franklin Avenue it runs express with the 2 and 3 trains and termainteds at Franklin then when it gets to 96 st it switches back to the local track and goes local with the one and get the skip stop should stay

I remember recording a 1 Train that went express from 137th to 96th. It was like it was representing the 9. Not to mention that R62A that looked clean af hauled ass.

I honestly prefer the calm version of Sky babylon act 1 for the IRT Broadway 7th Avenue Skip Stop Local Line. It brings a buffs mind to remember when no such technology was used and how calm and quiet everything was during a morning and afternoon rush hour. Beings it was a rush hour train. Check it out one day.

Just something to bring up. My grandma used to ride the 9 train to work when she was a much younger adult back then. My dad knew about it when he sees the subway (and rode it) in the 80s and 90s. Too bad it died though, but I saw that number on the Van Cortlandt - 242nd St sign at the station. In case you ask me how old I was back then, I think I was 12-13 years younger back then. P.S.: I originally lived in the Bronx (Schuylerville), so I lived across the Westchester Square line (you know, where the 6 train is at).

Hell yeah I miss this train and it discontinued while I was in the navy. Can I suggest something though. Back in the day there was 1 special train I for sure missed idk if u ever heard of it but there was a JFK train (the train to the plane) service that ran from jfk airport with the A all the way to 57th street in midtown manhattan. It was a light blue color with the airplane symbol. It would probably be more of a history review but if u could do that it would be awesome

This skip-stop wasn't exactly the greatest, but it at least lasted for more than an hour with a notable number of departures (in both directions, to boot), unlike Jamaica's pathetic excuse.

First comment and the MTA should bring the 9 train back once the CBTC is activated from Van Cortlandt Park Bronx down to South Ferry lower Manhattan via Times Square 42nd street and Cathedral Parkway 110th Street due to the crowding on 1 train in the upper westside
EpicThe112 keep u eyes open because I had heard that Cuomo would extend the 1 train to Red Hook within the future; this means that 7/10 for every party to be happy the 9 train possibly will return in effect regarding the extension whether the 9 will go to RH or the 1 train idk yet but I know for sure they’re considering to bring the 9 train back from the dead
