Maynard even stands behind the band when he sings live because he wants the focus to be on the band, and not his performance.
Yeah it's annoying...
He also has an issue with his eyes and the lights. It almost was keeping him from being able to perform live anymore.

Best kind of b*******the truth is that he had severe. He had to go up there as a character to get through the shows and now he doesn't necessarily need to be a character but standing behind the band and saying that is better than saying "I'm nervous as f*ck and this makes me less nervous

Once upon a time a turtle came to a creek. Standing on the shore of the waterway was a deadly scorpion.
"Mr. Turtle, I need to get to the other side and cannot swim, would you please be so kind as to carry me across?"
