So. Fucking. Awesome!
Andy & Alex 18 and life by skid row please! you will get the chills! why not some hair metal?
Andy & Alex fuck yes
The new album is absolutely awesome, don't miss the smooth transition at 9:19 on pneuma, sorry to "spoil" but it is easy missed because it's probably the smoothest transition I have ever witnessed. Once you realise what went just past you you will be like "no way".
Guys the new album is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 incredible. Can’t wait!
This lyrical video analysis has been brought to you by Captain Obvious.
(That’s a comment on the lyrical video, not you fellas) 🤘
Hah I know right
Shhh, no one wants your negativity
@@ericmcneish6260 Seriously, WTH, year ago me? 😂Eric, for real, hope you're doing well.
I really dislike lyric videos that have anything other than lyrics on the screen.
It's like a bad car crash. It's horrifying but you can't look away.
This lyric video is making me cringe
Yeah I dont know why they wouldn't just watch the video instead.
Yeah, that was a bit over the top.
Skip these fan made videos please. So much unnecessary stuff in them.
Until this week, that was the only way to NOT have your video blocked. Now that Tool videos are available, maybe RUclips will lighten up.
agreed. especially the videos for right in two and wings pt1&2. The video distracts from the music to me, and tries tyo do the interpretation for you instead of allowing you to digest it for yourself.
To me the fan made videos allow the creators own personal biases to take away from the music.
Possibly the worst lyric video I’ve ever seen. Embarrassing cringeworthy garbage
@@ocat1979 Was going to say that, it was so annoying.
@@ocat1979 The Forty Six & 2 one is actually worse.
Rosetta Stoned next, please! Or Ticks & Leeches, that one will blow your mind
I always looked at this song as a referendum on the media. If it bleeds it leads. Newscasts focused on the negative, pain, and people sit and absorb it, and eventually become numb to it. Just an amazing song, and most Tool songs are.
I told you guys a long time ago, VICARIOUS. Glad you finally got to do it. The song is magnificent. The meaning is vicious in it's truth. Every time you hear about someone dying you run to the news to find out what happened, don't you? I know I do. You are totally right about Adam & Justin playing at different times one at 5 beats and the other at 7, only meeting on the 35th beat. Adam talks about that a lot during vips. Rock on!
Do 7empest off their new album!
@Steven Hallmark True true
Pneuma would be perfect
Zach Sabbath 7empest is the sh!7
I’m sorry but that lyric vid needs to be banished into the abyss.....
something interesting about this song is that it comes first on the 10,000 days album- an album with some very personal and tragic tracks detailing parts of Maynard's life. Most notably, the story of his mother passing away on "wings for Marie/10,000 days." so, in this album the listener is taking in these tragic scenarios as entertainment
11:25 Jambi sounds like your kind of stuff
Drum kit stool? It's a throne fellas haha
If you want Danny Carey GOD MODE drumming, ‘Ticks & Leeches’ is just absolute next level. ‘The Grudge’ is incredible drumming, too.
2 songs - Ticks & Leeches and Pushit.
CHECK PNEUMA, BEST SONG I'VE EVER HEARD
People dying can now sometimes be seen LIVE.
The song is basically about, "At least it's not me !"
The "off rhythm" beats you're talking about are called poly rhythms. And YES they are dope!
Everyone does that weird head shake up down left right for their first time hearing tool
But then pick up their own flow and seem to get with it, Thats funniest thing about Tool Reactions
Thank you for explaining that I love those off rhythm beats in any song and I’ve never known what to call them
It's an observation about society, specifically people who watch a lot of 24 hour news stations and buy into the negative.
At last you did it guys! I knew this song would literally blow your heads off! I hope to see new Tool reactions soon!
APC - weak and powerless
Test for Echo from Rush’s same titled album is a variation of a similar theme to this that they recorded back in the 90’s. You guys should check it out
i think i will set back with my large joint and have a listen, enjoy boys.🔧⚒
I feel like the Bass was the star of this song. Drums are great too but the Bass had more of a voice here.
You guys should do Jambi next, it follows Vicarious on 10,000 Days and they go hand-in-hand in my opinion
Right in Two kinda follows the same theme of humanity's lack of empathy towards others.
So guys here's a list of tracks to check out. Since you just got into the greatest band ever (Zepp) listen to No Quarter from Zepp then react to TOOL's cover. One could say that TOOLS is better but that would be BLASPHEMOUS.
Another fun reaction would be PUSHIT studio then PUSHIT live off of Salival (Live album). They reworked the original. It's a completely different song. You'll swear that the song is a studio recording. The same for No Quarter. It's off of the same live album.
After that here are what I feel are their more epic tunes.
Wings for Marie part 1/10,000 days part 2. (Tissues required)
Disposition/Reflection/Triad
Lost keys/Rosetta Stoned
Ticks and Leeches(Danny kills it)
Third Eye (Mind blowing)
Right in Two
Jambi
Hooker with a penis
Eulogy
Swamp song
Jerk off
Prison sex
Hush
Undertow
Flood
Bottom
Opiate
4 degrees
Jimmy
Cold and ugly
Can't wait to see these reactions. Really love the channel.
do it now!
Tool > Zepp ANY FUCKING DAY DO NOT @ ME
Awesome track. Probably my favourite Tool track if I did have to pick one.
I knew you guys would dig it.
"shouldn't have to say it all again the universe is hostile, so impersonal we devour to survive so it is so it's always been"
Disgustapated says
" Life feeds on life feeds on life and this is necessary"
Bro; Zepp, Floyd, Tool in that order.
You have a lot of discography to experience. Lucky. Some real epic songs await you.
First time on your Channel. I love the set up and watching your reactions.
TOOL ARMY
Love your reactions! (66 yr old regular white dude in northern California here) Please react to "In A Gadda Da Vida" - 17 minutes long. The original psychedelic rock song from the 60s! Thanks! Make sure and have a little cannabis first!
New Album 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m envious that you have so much of the Tool journey ahead of you.
I loved watching this... I could predict your reactions as the song progressed as I was so excited knowing you loved it as much as I do! Great job 👍🤟🏻
Preety much every Tool song has the guitar, bass and drums not on the same beat, now react to each and every song of the new album, i ll be patient
the sad pathetic truth about most of humanity is we really cant look away where tragedy hits the news. This song crushes on every level , 10,000 days is my top Tool cd, as it is likely for most others as well. Incredible
Jambi
Maynard is almost done with the next TOOL record. I think they have years between records because for him it has to be perfect. There is a great song by one of his side projects called Puscifer called "Man Overboard". It's brilliant.
You guys should do jambi next...
7empest!!!!!!
Polymeter I think is what you were thinking of between two instruments basically completing the time signature.
Polymeter is two or more meters (macro rhythmic grouping) occurring simultaneously. This is not to be confused to Polyrhythm (simultaneous micro rhythmic groupings). What you're describing sounds more like "hocket", which is when different instruments fill in the space left by the other.
You guys should do a reaction video to, Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of The Psychic Wars (Live 1981)
Trust me.
I saw a reaction vid that suggested the song was about ptsd...never looked it from that perspective before..but when think about it...
BOC are awesome...and bucks gutar solo!!!
Yay chair!
Deep thought and introspection with the lyrics. The instrumentation was phenomenal. That guitar....
Btw, I was asleep and decided to plug you guys (and Alex's band) on my Tumblr. Not even sure how I did it, but it happened lol
@Britney Shearer
Haha that’s awesome 😁🔥
My favorite Tool song is eitherVicarious or 46&2.
You will probably like The Patient. It’s a bit emotional.
But when you listen to Wings 1 & 2, have tissues ready!
Love what you guys are doing here! It's fun to see the expressions on your faces when you're blown away. I'm not a fan of Tool, but have you listened to In-A -Gadda-Da-vVda by Iron Butterfly? The song is legendary and the drums are freaking insane.
There are so many fantastic artists and bands from that time, a lot of memories! .A few come to mind that will get your attention.
1. Peter Frampton, Frampton Comes Alive (live version) - it gives me chills hearing it to this day
2. Blue Oyster Cult, they have some great hits
3. David & David, Welcome to the Boomtown (longer version), very cool song and lyrics
You should check them out!
Check out Maynard (the singer) in Puscifer. Conditions of my parole
Ive heard alot of tool recently. I like their material for sure. Great reaction video to btw
Its how society and human nature is in general. We seem to be naturally hostile towards one another and tragedy is always number 1 on the evening news.
You guys deserve way more viewers
@Jonas Hagemo
Thanks man! Slowly but surely! Gives us more time to read awesome comments like yours here! 😁
New Album's Out!!! FUCK YEAH!!
Next time, just listen to the song without a lyric video. But yeah, as soon as the song started, I knew it was going to be a good Tool song. This is actually the first Tool song that I rate a 10. It was so good!!!! Tool is very unique with their unusual time signatures, energetic drumming, and hard to interpret meanings. I'm not a Tool expert, I'm only saying this based on what I've listened to from this channel. But yeah, great way to end the week guys! Have a good one! :)
Unlike most Tool fans, 10,000 Days is my favorite (Fear Inoculum is damn good, too)! The whole damn thing is just Next Level. The Pot is one song in particular that absolutely grabs me, shakes the shit out of me, takes me on a splendid, bumpy, crashing, mind-assault journey -- and then drops me at the end, exhausted and ecstatic. That song gives me a one of a kind experience. The whole album through, in the dark with top-notch headphones and some nutrient-laden beverage, is a must.
Yo dudes! TOOL - Third Eye, off AENIMA... Mindblowing!
I’ve heard over 100 Led Zeppelin Songs bootlegs live recordings etc.
Loving the TOOL reaction videos, but how have you guys gone 3 years without reacting to more? Unless you’ve already heard the rest of their discography 🤙🏼
You guys wanna be blown away watch Zakk Wylde do Mountains song Mississippi Queen on acoustic guitar with Les Paul Trio He also does Voodoo Child of Jimi Hendrix with the Les Paul Trio!! It will blow your minds!! Lol Keep rocking guys!!!🤘😈🎸💀🖤💀
guys you are starting to understand why I have been a Tool fan since 1991
Key words to the song “Eye on the TV, cause tragedy fuels me. Whatever flavor it happens to be”.
Not necessarily a reference of view into reality, but more so fictional tragedy for entertainment.
That’s always been my interpretation.
The term you're looking for is polyrhythmic
One of my favorites! Just picked up the new album! Looking forward to your reaction.👽
I Love you guys, but I have to turn the volume down... Vicarious upset and unsettled me so on Patreon, can't take it emotionally today. Still working my way through Tool. Last was 46 & 2, which oddly made me tear up... I had my usual questions to myself in comments. Have a great holiday weekend. Alex, hope you & family aren't in hurricane's path. Stay safe everyone. Peace.
Lisa W I love your Edie S icon 😍
@@sarahzentexas Thanks Sarah! Edie was a force of nature. Not sure if many remember her or not? Love that you recognized her! Have a great holiday weekend. :))
Can't remember if I've suggest this one to you guys yet. (It's new to me but bits of it have already gotten stuck in my head). Cheer-Accident *The Autumn Wind is a Pirate* . It goes of into Zappa-space at times, but doesn't get stuck anywhere for too long, and has some nice passages of simple melody, too. (It better; it lasts more than 22 minutes). You'll be glad if you can find yourselves the 20 or so minutes you need to give it a first listen (as in probably glad enough to give it another spin not too many weeks from now, again). ruclips.net/video/8_rLyF-7n_I/видео.html
I think they're from Chicago. Would need to look it up to be sure, though.
Hooker with a Penis, Third Eye, or the recently released 7empest should be your next reaction if you liked Vicarious.
Pneuma. #Fire
Their new album finally hit after THIRTEEN YEARS!!!! Check out Pneuma and 7empest!
Damn I've missed a lot being gone for almost a week and y'all nailed it once again with another monster fat ass 10 👏👏👏👏👊✌
React to Led Zeppelin - No Quarter (live from the Song Remains The Same album!) or if you guys are able to stream a half an hour long song stream any of their live versions of Dazed & Confused! You won't regret it. Great reaction
Twinkle twinkle little star
(A star is varying in brightness in the sky due to atmospheric refraction)
When you get back to Boston, I think you guys should do "Don't Look Back" off their second album
additional requests: Round and Round by Ratt, Roundabout by Yes
I think you kinda hit the nail on the head it is what I think a peice about the human condition and how instead of looking towards positive examples we all only react to what we are shown and I don't believe it was always this way but certainly within the last few like 5 or 6 decades we all seem to gravitate to whatever tragedy is goin on in the world or just down the block and at that I would even go so far as to say maybe we are more savages now then we ever were in the past some or most was I believe survival above brutality though we don't know a lot of what may have happened in the past but at the very least back then it was the attention of everyone's focus and now it's even at our fingertips and all we have to do is point and click but I also think a big part of it what kind of information we get fed or consume what the people that control want the masses to know and as long as our obedient eyes are focused on what they want then they are free to do whatever they want that's the point I think Maynard is trying to get across we need to pull our attention away from that so we can see what's going on but sheepel are sheepel
(People) and unless we stand together and educate ourselves and everyone that's willing to learn and try to bridge the gap of communication between everyone so that we all have the same chance to get back our lives and what really belongs to the people it doesn't hurt to take a look inward every so often we have brains we need to use our gifts to make this world a better place for all there are so many possibilities to be had and goals that we all can achieve if we work together. ..... sorry for rambling just my thoughts
Oh fucking A! I've been waiting for this one!
what I took from it was that we all have a sadistic side even if its mild. some are in the extreme but that doesn't mean their all bad just as no one is all good. we all like watching people die in entertainment, tear jerkers, action movies and horror, but it spills out from that to the news. when we hear about murder our thoughts are omg how horrible but something inside us even if its way down is saying "awesome"" and that's really ok. people need to ADMIT that and realise their not good people but not bad either
please do a song that you really never heard before... Do " Squonk " or " Trick of the tail " by Genesis, im guess`n you kids have not heard them. Best 2 stories in music history!!! thanks
Tool - H.W.A.P.
Damn-straight it's a 10! How do you make this song better?
Another great song by TOOL!!🤘🏻
The new album is gonna blow your faces off... So Epic... So Kick Ass...
Guys I've been a fan of them since day 1. I've seen hundreds of concerts and bands and zero bands do music in all its scopes as well as tool
PNEUMA from the new tool álbum please! Check that one out! You’ll love it.
Tool is excellent live.
Love Tool reactions. How great music can affect the soul
You guys need to listen to 'White Man' by Queen and their Montreal version of 'Dragon Attack' Complete change up of song and seems really underrated
This song (along with significant portions of their entire catalog) is heavily influenced by "Discipline" era King Crimson. The first minute is almost a straight lift from the final title track "Discipline". Too bad no reaction videos available of King Crimson, due in large measure, I presume, to the heavy hand of Robert Fripp (a/k/a the protector of the King Crimson copyrights).
Jambi by Tool
This is one of my favorites
Rosetta Stoned from the Danny Carey drum clinic. Watch the master live
Everything dies...
OK I’m frustrated. I know I’ve heard this band on the alternative station here in Kansas City but I cannot find a single song I recognize! What’s going on!?
Cruising an intergalactic freight ship.
Ticks and Leeches from Lateralus or Invincible from the new album
Hey guys! React the Group Tiamat ans the Song Gaia!! A swedish Band they belong to the co-grounders of Gothic Metal.its an amazing Song!
Loudness 'Crazy Nights'... this song ROCKS!

Pantera domination live at Moscow 1991 please do a reaction video to it it's bad ass
Danny Carry is just an insanely talented drummer same for Justin Chancellor on bass Adam Jones is just a great guitarist not flashy but I think he's great What can you say about Maynard! Weird but deep!
Next Alexander the Great by iron maiden.
I like your hair. You have to figure it out who I am taking about. I would die to see a tool concert by the way.
