Watching people react for the first time allows me to live Vicariously in remembrance of my first time. TOOL is, indeed, Legendary and in a genre all their own. Been listening to them since 1993 and it NEVER gets old. Enjoy your experience, brother....it is one one the TOOL Army will ride with you on.
Tool is definitely their own genre. Greatest band in history.
You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you to react to this song. This is what headphones were made for. Maynards voice in this is superb. You said you want to play a whole album , play this one, 10,000 days. It’s amazing from start to finish. 10,000 days is the number of days his mum was left paralysed after taking a stroke , it’s also roughly the orbital days of Saturn 🪐 around the sun ☀️… Brilliant reaction. So happy you loved it.

@@pavelbreza919010.000 days is easier to get into though. Most people who don't mind a little hardcore music would probably enjoy the whole album from start to finish. Ænima is probably the least "mainstream sounding" album. But yes, I agree. Lateralus and Ænima are a bit more "intimate" so to speak. Parabola probably saved my life but it wouldn't be the first song I showed to a newer listener.
To be fair Maynard is the least relevant in this song. Yes, it's a good melody and lyrics and everything you want, but seriously the most notable or interesting thing is Maynard? I don't think so, honestly not. This, first of all, is an incredible instrumental odyssey. Maynard just goes above doing his thing. It just bothers me a little when people only focus and highlight the voice or the singer, leaving everything else aside as if it were not so relevant or important.

The lyrics to this one are every bit as important as the music, I hope you delve into the lyrics because they go perfectly with the whole theme. He speaks of how we want to see the tragedy and suffering of others on the news and online etc as long as none of it touches us personally, we vicariously experience all the worst things from a safe distance. The jumbled talking you referenced was just a taped series of breaking news reports about murder, tragedy,etc. So yeah, next time you listen to this one try to also experience not only the indescribable excellence of the music but alongside that also grasp the impact of what Maynard is saying about human nature. This is one bad ass song for sure.

Do your best to resist just listening to all of Tool's songs. They only have so many, and when you have heard them all, then ....... like the rest of us fans, you just have to wait for a new album. So, string it out over months at least and enjoy it. Thanks for letting us see your reactions.
I listened to tool so much when I was younger and absolutely burned myself out on it. I didn't listen to it for a long time but when I went back to it, it was just as good if not better because it brought me back to my younger days.

I’ve been listening to Tool since the beginning. Saw them live for the first time at Lollapalooza 92’ on the SIDE STAGE in New Jersey. Been a fan ever since. Love their entire catalog BUT, 10,000 days is the most incredible, important albums they’ve ever released IMO. Every track is unforgettable and unique and yet from start to finish take you on a journey. 🔥🔥

Not only is Tool’s music legendary but equally legendary are Maynard’s lyrics. This band is so deep it’s ridiculous!

Experienced this live on their 10,000 days tour in London sell out night in Brixton! They were outstanding! Opened up the set with Jambi it was a night I’ll never forget! 😎
One of the greatest live bands you will ever see.
I have been lucky enouh to have been alive long enough to see them from start to now. Been to a couple of their shows and going again in Feb to Birmingham Al. I CANNOT wait. I feel like they do things with the frequencies and vibrations that make you feel all kinds of ways. Especially live. You can be strait as an arrow and feel all kinds of high after a show. But, I find when listening on my headphones, I get put in a trance and either pass out or just zoning out. Which is crazy because of all the sounds put out. You wouldn't think you could sleep to that... but sometimes it puts me right to sleep. In a GREAT way.
This is the first song I ever heard from my favorite band back in 2006 and I’ve been hooked ever since
I had the same visceral reaction when I first heard Tool! Dig deeper, there is a lot of depth in their catalog. Not all songs are radio length (Vicarious, Sober, The Pot), but you have to listen to the journey. I always respond to the energy in music, and these songs are monsters! I can't listen to them loud enough :-)
I saw them on this tour.....YES! freaking awesome show that I wish was still happening.

Hands down my favorite Tool song!
I first started listening to tool in highschool. The same time I was getting into marijuana. And let me tell you it melted my mind. I cant even express the feelings it made me feel. You are right they are 4 geniuses.
Weed definitely makes Tool even more interesting than they already are. It makes most music, especially metal/ rock sound better but more spiritual/ existential music really gets to you when you're high since you're thinking about everything more conceptually.

I think this is one of their hardest songs. By the end of the song I feel like the guy in the Maxell ads getting blown away by the music. The second page where all you see is the chair flying out of frame.

Bro... you truly MUST do Patabol/Parabola next! This is the TOOL song that truly takes you to another plane without the use of drugs. Mind you, some magic mushrooms will only appreciate your existence while experiencing this song ... but if you are so inclined it isn't a necessity. I'm the same age as Maynard and have been listening since day 1. Driving 8 hours to Rockville to see them on Sunday. Tool is great therapy.
It’s crazy, I’ve yet to ever see a reaction to tool that is in any way negative . Some reaction video have guests who don’t like some music. Tool captures everyone . They are timeless . Even my 6 and 7 year old like some tool songs

Like how you place Tool in their own category. They are epic musicians and songsmiths and define their own sound. Another band Id love to see you react to is Deftones. Also defined their own sound. Singer is ridiculous, awesome almost hip hope drums n drops. Hexagram, sextape, digital bath, knife party are some sick ones and have some varying feels and techniques. Rock on
