@@chockypompom Now why did you have to go there!? As a matter of fact I just finished listening 🎧 to "My Ever Changing Moods" just to prove you wrong. That'll teach you to question me. How do you like dem apples Mr know-it-all?
As much as I enjoyed Rick, Bruce and Paul's efforts as the Jam, the Style Council's My Ever Changing Moods album was absolutely otherworldly brilliant. Paul's finest moment.
Is it just me, or does this song along with Joe Jackson’s “You Can’t Get What You Want Till You Know What You Want” seem as twin towers of extremely underrated British blue-eyed soul? They came out about the same time in 1984, love them both!
Lucy Fer 80's was my favourite decade for music. The smiths, psychedelic furs, the cult, the cure and many more. Such a pity about Ian Curtis because joy Division would have gone onto big things then too had it not ended so soon. RIP Ian Curtis ❤️

Great live version of this song - it never gets old. So much going on here, especially Weller’s charisma as a performer...it’s always a mystery to me why he wasn’t as big in the US. Great songwriting, musicianship, vocals, horns...just a brilliant piece of music. A treasure trove of sonic bliss!
I had the privilege of seeing the Style Council on stage at The Brighton Centre in the 1980s and they were superb, melody, rythm and soul with great songs that captured the mood of the times. Many thanks to Theaceface for posting this.

He has to be in Brtain! As for the US, no hit singles from all three. It's too bad, but it's ok. I'm just glad ROXY MUSIC finally got in, in America. Awesome sing. Love the various renditions he's done over the years, from the original studio track to more recent acoustic recordings. This one is especially great.

My Ever Changing Moods
The Style Council
Daylight turns to moonlight and I'm at my best
Praising the way it all works, and gazing upon the rest, yeah
The cool before the warm, the calm after the storm
The cool before the warm, the calm after the storm
I wish to stay forever, letting this be my food
Oh, but I'm caught up in a whirlwind
And my ever changing moods, yeah
Bitter turns to sugar, some call a passive tune
But the day things turn sweet for me won't be too soon, no
The hush before the silence, the winds after the blast
Oh the hush before the silence, the winds after the blast
I wish we'd move together, this time the bosses sued
Oh, but we're caught up in the wilderness
And an ever changing mood, yeah
Teardrops turn to children who've never had the time
To commit the sins they pay for through another's evil mind
The love after the hate, the love we leave too late
The love after the hate, the love we leave too late
I wish we'd wake up one day, an' everyone feel moved
Oh, but we're caught up in the dailies
And an ever changing mood, yeah
The cool before the warm, the calm after the storm
The hush before the silence, the winds after the blast
The love after the hate, the love we leave too late
The love after the hate, the love we leave too late
The cool before the warm, the calm after the storm, I said
The hush before the silence, the winds after the blast
The love after the hate, the love we leave too late I said
The love after the hate, the love we leave too late
