How could anyone write so many great classic songs in such a short space of time. They were just smoking straight out of the gate.
He already had them in his head while with the Jam. Just couldn't produce them as Jam songs.
what a great concert, what a great time it was back in those days. Love it ❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️💥💫
I've still got the cassette tape I recorded when this was broadcast on the radio all those years ago....😊
Listening to this today I'm going to dig out my box of cassette tapes ❤
Me too!
One of the absolutely tightest bands ever-regardless of genre…
Brilliant, I so wanted a Lacoste cardigan after this. Never did get one. 👍
Never too late. Get on eBay 👍🏻 🐊
If that wasn't British as fish and chips mate
Too poor for one!
My brothers had one in the 80s, dark green. They were all the rage back then!
Heh - I did 😉

@@lorrainerose3016 You're welcome
Just found this. Absolutely brilliant. Some Jam purists don't rate TSC but subjectively, times changed, music changed and PW nailed it.
even in the jam days which were excellent, he was always destined to take it higher
Saw Weller here in Los Angeles back in September and he played a bunch of TSC songs and sounded fantastic. I feel so lucky to enjoy his music all these years later and that he’s still putting out great albums. Cheers Paul!
Timeless and amazing
I think this is Style Council's best show to date.
The recording with no reverb at all is also great!
Just fantastic
Hooohooo!! I feel like I was transported back in time. The new wave era.
Just great !! Let's go back to the 80's ,right now !! Just love 'The Whole point of no return' , Paul sings it solo....brillant !!
Thanks for the upload! I’ve not seen this full version with the M.E.C.M warm up, then the compare, Pete Drummond introducing the band. Some unseen footage that is priceless for a TSC fan. Brilliant!!!
She is amazing, first time ive heard the paris match this way🎉
I was 22 years old and in the crowd great memories .
amazing music! 40 years ago!
Thanks for posting this …it’s a fantastic show!
Saw them August 85 Melbourne , brilliant
Bons tempos.Muita euforia.
Fantastic performance all around!
What a great band!!!!☺
Awesome show! so many good memories of TSC -and it’s every bit as good now in 2024!
So so so good. Gorgeous song.
Second time listening to this. Just fabulous.
wow.. what a find.. Thanks so much for sharing.. a Chippenham resident and a regular visitor to The Goldiggers back in the day
Would be fantastic to see the Style council reform. I know Weller would never do it, but still, it would be a sensation if they did.
They reformed in 2019 for Sky Arts 'Long Hot Summers' An excellent documentary with the band reforming for the finale
.............pre DEE C LEE no disrespect to the backing singer shes not the great dee c lee what a voice she had .............
@@eamonnquigley2125Agreed. She's ok, but not got the same polish as the rest of the band.
Cant beat it amazing group had everything 😊
This is wonderful. Thanks so much for posting.
Just found this, THANK YOU ❤
I appreciate the talent here all around
Goldiggers! That's a blast from the past. Saw Howard Jones there. Thanks for posting
For me they’re one of the greatest musician .. we’re talking about Paul Weller’s punk rock group switching to Funk.. Jazz .. pop Genre .. this is phenomenal. You don’t expect this from Sex Pistol or any other rock group as I know 😎
Style Council son la bomba. Weller es demasiado. Qué bien
Paul's vocals and lead guitar are so good. This whole concert was amazing. Thanks for upload. ❤

Ace band style council forevever
Party Chambers @ 30:00
Yeah - superb.
Smoking. A young Robert De Niro.🤣🤣🤟😎💙
@54:59 is that Rick Buckler jumping on the stage for an impromptu dance??
Was Weller ahead of the times by turning so jazzy after The Jam? Or did he miss a beat when the 80's headed into an electronic, dance frenzy?
Absolut genial!
The guy @ 54:59 is badass!!
Paul Weller !!!!!!!!!!❤!!!!!!!!!!!
👍
He was wrong. They formed late 1982 so they were over a year old by this.
何歳だったか忘れてしまったけどスタカンが日本の大阪城ホールでのコンサートでチケット握って行ったんだけど体調不良とかで当日キャンセルで幻に成りにけり。。。
Weller at his best
U see the bass dude it is difficult yes
The whole point of no return, so poignant in today's times
Brilliant. Welle rules.
Wonderful but missg Dee C
where's Dee C Lee?
Hadn’t joined the touring group at this point. The vocalist on this session is Jaye-Ella Williamson. Stunning vocals. She married, and is now Jaye-Ella Ruth.
I was thinking the same.
What's the gir's name? I know it's no Dee C Lee
Yes, her name is Jaye Ella-Ruth (formerly known as Jaye Williamson). She was Support vocal on the early outings, before Dee joined. Amazing voice. What a talent.
@@prestidigitation2301 Thank you!
the mods are turning they had kids ultimately
I wonder what happened to all the other musicians who played here ? (apart from Mick Talbot, I know he's still around). Who's the singer on Paris Match ?
It is Steve White on drums. Tracy Thorn sang Paris Match on the album but its not her.
Helen Turner toured many times with him recently.
You can catch up with all of them on the Desperately Seeking Paul podcast
My brother's brother in law is good friends with the keyboard player Mick Talbot . I met him in the 1990's at my brother's surprise party for his brother in law who was coming over from Australia .Mick is a talented pianist as well and a top bloke , he tried to get Paul to come as well but sadly he didn't come to the party ! 9:06 10:08
Steve White played with Weller on many of his solo records.
Helen Turner!
Great on live wood too mate!
Never in the same league as The Jam.
They were never supposed to be the Jam. I believe the Jam had less success too.
YOU CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE WEATHER
The States do not get it.
It's embarrassing.
Effing A...
That Dee C Lee song is brutal. Out of tune and an awful melody. The rest of the show however is incredible. She should just stick to backup vocals which she is average at at best.
A neutered devolution of The Jam. I lost all interest here; besides the odd mildly arousing track the Council were sugary pop-tarts
Don’t be so closed minded Gary mate, even an 18 year old who didn’t live through it can get into it😅
Get it over and move on 😅
Here we go. Another narrow minded idiot. Paul Weller chose to develop his sound. He wanted to get away from the constraints of Jam and its fans like you. He produced a fuller classier sound that can't be compared to The Jam. Cant argue with all those singles.
So he wouldn't agree with you, so who would I agree with?
Why are you even watching thus video?
@@robthemod58 'Chained to The Jam'...Hardly, too left wing for comfort, but politics aside, they were a lot more creative and interesting. Not really a fan of his solo stuff, it's a bit slow and derivative. The changing man is really the 10538 Overture, which also sends me to sleep. I probably have have a short attention span though...

Where's Dee C Lee?
May have had prior commitments. She had a lot of work on around this time.
