What did you think of Urban Meyer retiring from Ohio State?
I think it is the same excuse he used when leaving Florida
As a buckeye I’m sad because I appreciate all that Urban brought to Ohio State, as successful as they were under Tressel which was averaging 11 wins a season, Urban elevated that level even more. I understand his health is of the utmost importance and I hope he gets as healthy and happy as possible in retirement. He will be missed for sure on the sidelines at the Ohio State University.
What is there to think?
Others will produce reasons they prefer to subscribe to regarding the motivations for the retirement. I will leave that to them.
If continuing to coach is a serious health concern, there should be no thinking that needs to be done on this issue on the part of Urban Meyer or his friends and family, and it sure as heck doesn't matter what a hundred million complete strangers choose to say or think about it.

@@joshuagarner1654 the controversy was over by the time any of us peasants realized how serious this was. Nobody was forcing him out...or they would have back when he was suspended. If he was able, he could have easily coached for another 15 years.
I'm so sick of people bringing that up. He was protecting someone he really cared about. Probably not the best judgement but I know I have protected people I probably shouldn't have, because I genuinely cared about them and believed they were a good person. None of us are perfect.

HaHa..you must be bittern Sparty fan.. It's true, but Meyer was mad, focused all his attention on beating UofM and his son Harbaugh b/c Jim knocked up Urban's wife/mom. Urban and Harbaugh both wanted to throw the newborn in the dumpster, as it showed classic signs of inbreeding like deformations (very tiny cranium/ without testicles) and retardation. However the mother/wife objected and said she knew of a State Funded Institution for Invalids, in East Lansing. Jim and Urban argued what to name it before UPS pickup, they compromised with Jim naming it Michigan and of course Urban was able to keep surname.. This is the Story of Michigan State and why their Maize and Blue neighbors down south call them Little Brother... We know little brother is very sensitive when finding this out... They should feel lucky, but we should wait until they accept being little brother before it's revealed Harbaugh/ UofM is also Sparties Daddy! and Urban is their pa and grandpa..!?

What has he done since then....a 31-0 loss to Clemson in the CFP semifinals, 55-24 loss to UNRANKED Iowa, ranked #2 and lost 31-16 to #5 Oklahoma at home in the Pony Shoe and a 49-20 loss to UNRANKED Purdue. Bye bye Cyers.

My wife has a brain tumor. A grade 2/3 astrocytoma. Found out 6 months after we married. Weve been through 2 brain surgeries since last Christmas. She goes to work every day through chemo. No disrespect to Mr Meyer. Shes just my hero.

Thanks for the support from a fan of another program. Funny that in the SEC championship I needed Alabama to win but I could not help rooting for Georgia! Those kids hit hard and played their hearts out in that game! Much respect for your program. It is interesting that Alabama needed second half QB changes to beat you guys the last 2 times you played. You guys shut Tua down! You shut Jaylen down last year! I was rooting for you both times.

A lot of people don’t realize that when you have a certain job, it’s a 24/7 job that can wear you out mentally in no time, because it’s not just the players,coaches or the university but the community they live in as well that they have to deal with, the media and so on. You put all that in a hat shake it up and dump it out and that’s what you have to deal with day in and day out!

He left Florida due to chest pains and coached Ohio State a year later. When the scandal happened with his coach heath problems came again... just like Florida. He will coach again. I have zero doubts. It's just matter of where... NFL or college.

Really, it's hard to understand why any NFL-ready and eligible player doesn't go pro. These guys are one play gone horribly wrong from losing a career or, worse, getting seriously injured, and they don't get paid for real while coaches like Sabin, Meyer and Harbaugh make millions every year. I don't hold it against any of them.
