      Do you think that Klatt is right when he says that teams should have to win there conference to get in? For example, let's say #1 Alabama is playing #4 Georgia in the SEC Championship game and let's say that Bama loses by a walk off 54yrd field goal as time expires. In that scenario Alabama would have the best loss against the #4 team in the country which would be better than all the other 1 loss teams. So would you still think that Bama wouldn't deserve to get into the CFP? But on the other hand a 7-5 Pitt team who let's say beats Clemson would? This is the reason I'm not a fan of Klatts theories and opinions on the CFP because to me he doesn't use logic but I do like Klatt the man though.

    I love Joel's passion enthusiasm and passion for the 8-team playoff and the attitude of earning it on the field. He is
    right! I would expand that they should take out the bowls from the
    equation from hosting because the Big 10 will never have an advantage
    traveling wise with this current system. Frankly, last year at #4 seed,
    Alabama essentially played a home game in the Sugar Bowl (the Sugar Bowl
    is a SEC Bowl Game) against Clemson despite Clemson being the #1 seed. A
    playoff you are supposed to have home field advantage when you are the
    #1 seed. Have the first round and 2nd round on campus and have the Final
    4 at 1 site like the NCAA Basketball tournament. This way you will have
    teams from the SEC/ACC/PAC-12 coming to the winter weather and playing
    cold weather games. And don't tell me they wouldn't sell well because
    Michigan hosts outdoor hockey matches at the Big House and they sell
    out. This system needs to be readjusted and balanced. It can't be
    favored towards one conference because of the television deal they have
    with ESPN/ABC.

    Personally I hate this notion of "let the best team in" and not the most deserving. The reason you play the games is because you never know who will win, you can't just eyeball a team and say they are just better on paper. You'll get the same teams every year since every year the same teams recruit better than other teams so they are better on paper.

      I think the actual results this weekend have to be factored in. If Bama loses by 10 and OU blows out Texas, I think you have to go with Oklahoma. Even if they lose a nailbiter, if OU or OSU deliver a dominant performance and show improvement in the flawed portions of their game, the committee needs to at least consider leaving Alabama out. They haven't played any strong offenses this season and have sleepwalked through stretches of the last couple games. Now, I think they're the best team to this point in the season and I really don't see them losing to Georgia, but I hope that the specifics of how these championship games unfold are taken into account.

If Bama loses, it would be the best loss of all top 10 teams by far. These playoffs are absurd! Head to head: ND beats MI 24-17. OSU beats MI 62:39 (and 14 of those points were just give up touchdowns.) OSU beats MD 52-51. Texas LOSES to MD 34-29 - and Texas beats OU! The rankings should be 1) Alabama 2) Clemson 3) Ohio State 4) OU 5) ND and 6) Georgia. Conference championships should count! ND has continuously decided to stay independent. Good for them, but there should be repercussions for not winning a conference championship when that's 25% of the decision for the committee. All 4 of the top 4 I have listed SHOULD win... but should GA win, then they take Alabama's spot. Done. If two should lose - say Alabama and OSU, then you take Clemson, Georgia, OU, and ND. No matter the case, conference championships should be the first round of playoffs. If a 1 loss team, or a no loss team goes down in those, then you invite other undefeated teams into the playoff. That should not be the end all be all.... Suppose Bama lost to LSU - but went 11-1 but had to sit out. And GA was 9-3 but beats LSU in the conference championship, then that should open the door for Bama to move in. Either way, to suggest that bama should still be included even losing the last game is absurd. To take a non conference champion (ND) over a one loss team such as OU or OSU should they win, is absurd.

    That guy's nothing but "full of it" with the comment of bringing-in more "flawed" teams! Let's see what Ohio State does to Northwestern vs. what Notre Dame did. Look at some other comparisons with Notre Dame and, then, explain how that undefeated team isn't flawed. And, that's with the Refs helping them through the season!

    I like Joe but I’m sorry man, I gotta call you out on this one. Unless Bama is absolutely dominated by GA (which they won’t be) then they are gonna be in the playoff. They are clearly the best team in the country. Also you say that you didn’t like them getting in last year but they WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP ANYWAY. What you’re saying doesn’t make sense.

    So Alabama has to go undefeated to make the playoffs just because they didn't get blown out by 29 on the road in the regular season??? How would losing by 1 point in Georgia to the number 4 team in the country eliminate bama yet losing by 29 to an unranked 6-6 team doesn't eliminate them??
    Who cares when you lose? Georgia is playing at a level at if they were to somehow beat bama playing at their best, then they would beat any other team in the country as well... Meaning, if Ohio St or ou were in bamas shoes they would have lost as well, except that would be their 2nd loss while it's only bamas first.

    • @Matthew_Webster
      @Matthew_Webster 5 лет назад

      Bama losing to Georgia would show us that GA is better so no need to put Bama in since we already saw GA was better. Bama should be penalized for losing and not given a second chance for losing and forcing GA to have to post beat Bama again. Most teams throughout the year would fall out of the top four after a loss, end of the year should be no different.

      Bama played 3 Fcs schools. They had three byes on their schedule. Ok, Osu, Nd played 12 real teams. They tested themselves. In those 3 weeks bama gets to rest starters and play inexperience players without having to sacrifice any important playing time. Bama loses they are done. No playoff. GA not sure at their schedule but i'm confident they played at least 2 fcs schools.

    Notre Dame should not be in the playoffs. If they want to maintain their elitist, holier than thou attitude, and cherry pick their schedule, then they should pay the consequences of not being in a conference. The PAC 12 and the Big 12 are probably not going to be represented in the final four, so much for the committee's "reverence" for conference champions. We all remember what happened to Notre Dame the last time they were invited to play for the National Championship. They were humiliated by Alabama. There is a reason that 13 of the last 14 National championship games included an SEC team, with an SEC team winning all but two. The only northern school worth a flip is Ohio State (as demonstrated by it's complete domination of Michigan). The SEC championship IS the national championship. The ACC, Big 10, and PAC 12 Championship games are going to be snooze-fests. To keep Alabama out of the CFPs would be an abomination. They simply want to avoid three Georgia-Alabama games in two years, even though, Georgia and Alabama are obviously two of the best three teams in college football. Defense still wins championships, and Oklahoma and Ohio State don't have one.

    • @chicksdigthestutter
      @chicksdigthestutter 5 лет назад

      7700Purplexity It’s not like ND picks a easy schedule. They played a traditional powerhouse in the Big 10, PAC 12, and the ACC. Unfortunately those teams are down this year. In the beginning of the year people were saying how tough the schedule is and now they are saying how easy it is. Plus what other team travels from coast to coast like they do? They deserve to be in.

    If Alabama loses they should be OUT! Not because they lost to the #4 team and Ohio State lost to unranked Purdue or OK lost to a weak Texas team, but because they only played 8 conference games, they played an FCS school, had a bye, and ONLY BEAT a weak and overrated LSU team led by an Ohio State reject QB. That's why Alabama should be out and OK or OSU in if they win. Not even saying OSU should be in over OK or other way around. You lose you drop out of top 5. Period. Let alone for the reasons above. If Alabama lost to GA at the beginning of the year and they were #1 and GA 4, and the other teams 2 and 3 won that week, Bama would be put out of the top 5. Should be the same at the end of the year too.

    I love Ohio State.....I went to OSU....I graduated from OSU ==> and I believe Urban Meyer is CLUELESS and should get ZERO CREDIT for our 2014 Championship and NONE for Dwayne Haskins either. UM (hate those initials by the way) has only wanted the RUN FIRST QB's as his starters. The ONLY reason we won the NATTY in 2014 was because JT Barrett broke his ankle and Urban was FORCED to play Cardale Jones (which brought BALANCE and a DFT to our Offense). He (Meyer) loathed Kenny Guiton, Cardale Jones and Joe Burrow.
    PROOF ==> Urban is the ONLY COACH IN FBS HISTORY to BENCH an Undefeated, Natty Winning, MVP...and when he did, we LOST !
    Urban Meyer was OK with OSU losing to TTUN in 2017....and if JT hadn't got hurt (again) => Dwayne Haskins would not have entered THE GAME, and we would have lost. Please watch the game if you've never seen this. Dwayne only needed 1 quarter to win it !
    All last summer when every MEDIA person asked him whether he thought Burrow or Haskins would START, all he could talk about was Tate Martell...…..Please don't believe me...….watch the interviews. W/O the all the pre-season garbage that Urban brought TO OSU and on himself, we would have seen another RUN FIRST QB at OSU. Collectively, they've never helped our team win anything but it's the ONLY thing UM knows. Why has Ohio State struggled this year ? Well, it got WORSE not better after UM returned to the helm.....and the reason is, HE DOESN'T understand how to utilize a Pass First QB in the spread Offense......and doesn't care to. He's been FORCED TO PLAY PASS FIRST QB's => 4 different times....and we've won every game but one during his tenure when this happened => but it was NEVER HIS CHOICE, it was forced onto him and thankfully it was, as we won.....a Big Ten Championship....Dwayne can make it 2...….a CFP BAMA victory....a NATTY...…..a victory over TTUN...…..and a 24 - 1 record !
    In 2018, OSU got better on Defense when a Targeting Call brought Brendon White in the game.....and an injury brought Chris Olave into our Offense...…..not any VOLITIONAL CHOICES by UM. We could be GREAT THIS YEAR. WE have the players we need. They just can't get an opportunity with UM's mindset. His history shows this to be true......
    PROOF ==> Did Urban Meyer bring Burrow off the bench at any time during Ohio State's 0 - 31 loss to Clemson ? Our WR's were wide open......please watch the 3rd quarter to see it (over and over again). Did Urban change QB's in the IOWA game ? Did Cardale Jones get to play even one quarter of the 2015 game vs MSU (because that was all he would have needed to win the game for us).
    We have the BEST TEAM in FBS THIS YEAR....and have for the past 7 years...….but Urban can't SEE the volitional decisions that need to be made. Nick Saban barely did. He had his COME TO JESUS MOMENT during half time last year. He had been short sighted same as Urban for years......losing to Cardale Jones and OSU in 2014, losing in 2016 vs Clemson and he was ABOUT TO LOSE to Georgia when it HIT HIM...…..and he VOLITIONALLY benched the Running QB for a TRUE FRESHMAN who brought a balance attack and a DFT to the game......and he (TUA) won the thing in just over half a game.
    Joel sees some things...….but he's NEVER fully grasped these historical FACTS......as TRUTH !!! Hope you do now !!!
