I remember a few years ago after a game at Ohio State and his wife calling 911 that he was having chest pains. The tone of her voice on that call was so clear that he must be a total drama queen. Urban was known for playing favorites. When some of the top players at UF served mandatory suspensions for testing positive for weed, they stood on the sideline in walking boots as if they were out because of injury. Aaron Hernandez punched out a waiter and punctured his eardrum as a freshman at Florida in the presence of a bunch of teammates, including Tebow. No discipline. As a day 1 Jaguars fan, GOOD RIDDANCE!> Urban is a fool. His carreer is OVER. You would be a fool to hire this man. I feel so baddly for the Jax Jaguars. A team that needed a rebound after what Tom Coughlin brought back to this franchise. A sense of ownership, and disrespect, and abuse to the players that make the organization work. A utter sense of arrogance his entire tenure. His aloof decisions that served no one but himself. Urban abused his powers, and set the Jacksonville Jaguars back ANOTHER year that a franchise can't afford. Watching, Jalen Ramsey, Yannick Ngakuoe, and Leonard Fornette all get so upset with this franchise that they would rather walk, than play, HURT, not but the last 3 season past. Now this. The Jaguars should be such a better team. The draft picks that were good should have stayed, the bad ones made, over those years (Bortles, Gabbert ect.) they can't recover, and the loss of attracting free agents over years and years, cause you stink. I weep. Bad management aside seeing Urban fail the Jaguars so bad is just heart breaking for Jags fans. I feel for the fans, for Trevor Lawrence, for all envolved. Time to rebound again, Persistance pays off, they can still rebuild Jags. It's not over it's actually beginning again. Lastly, F- you Urban Myer, you waste. GFYS! The Kahn's are on watch to see if they can CORRECTLY manage a franchise. A New Year brings new opportunities. Further more real Jags fans should also oppose any notions of moving to London(Really). Go Jags!

      In college, it's all about scouting and developing players. And 90% of the time, the top teams play an opponent that they severely overmatch. So you don't have to be that great of a coach - you just have to know how to get the best players and develop them. That's where a guy like Harbaugh struggles in college. But he was able to coach in the NFL with decent success. So I argue they are two entirely different types of jobs that don't share much in common other than being football.

      @@sheneedsme Harbaugh has proven that he's an exception overall. But I would argue that he's a better pro-style coach than a college one. He is not as great a college coach as Meyer or Saban - there is a drastic difference between him and them at the college level! He's more of a pro-style coach who is also a capable college coach. But he really struggles at developing college players for the next level. Michigan recruits a top 10 freshman class virtually every year, and the player development has been poor for that talent level. You can see this is especially true with QB development, which is odd because Harbaugh was a college and pro QB.

But the problem is that you can go too far the other way into real fascism and tyranny - a lot of the stuff you mentioned goes on in North Korea and other dictatorships. IMO, the real problem isn't just toughness. It's moral corruption at every level. That is, doing the right thing despite how tough it is. You can't force that - it has to be developed through parenting and culture. The previous generations are just as much to blame for things because they largely failed on those fronts.

    How do you fire this Coach but not the Lions Coach who has a worse record? Also the Jaguars were equally just as bad last year when Myers wasn't the Head Coach. How do they expect a Coach to turn everything around in less than a year? Is this real news? Also don't get me wrong I don't think the lions Coach should be fired either. I think all head coaches should have at least one year to prove themselves to some degree. This is ridiculous that they just fired him like that. This is why the Jaguars will never be any good. They continue to fire all their coaches all the time. They even fired that one Head Coach that took them to the AFC Championship game. What a poorly run organization because the owner is not a good owner. Khan should sell the franchise because he's part of the problem!!!

    • @mike48931
      @mike48931 2 года назад +2

      Jesus Christ. It’s like people don’t pay any attention. Meyer isn’t being fired because of his losing record. He’s being fired because he’s a piece of shit who has lost the respect of everyone in the organization down to the players. He’s lambasting his players and his coaching staff. Mild mannered players who have been part of equally bad organizations are walking off the field and getting into confrontations with him. His best player is being benched constantly to the protest of the locker room. He kicked his former kicker at practice and said as the head ball coach he can kick him whenever he wanted. Off the field his adulterous antics have been distracting at best. How do you expect a head coach and his team to ever be successful in that scenario? That’s why he’s gone because there is no future with him as the head coach. He may still have a great mind for the game but that’s useless if your players don’t want to be playing for you and your coaches don’t want to be coaching for you. He may have led boys to glory but he is a terrible leader of grown men.
