In college, despite having a university president and athletic director, the football coach answers, if winning, answers to no one. NOT IN THE NFL! even bill belichick has to humble himself to Robert Kraft. Urban hasn’t had to answer to anyone in 20 years.

The way Meyer acted when he was with the Jaguars head coach makes a bit more sense to me now.
If you believe the stories (and I think there's some merit to it), Belichick wanted to trade Brady several years ago, thinking he was near the end, but Kraft overruled him.

John Brown learned the Bills complicated offense under Daboll and was their leading WR in 2019. The idea he would have trouble learning Urban Meyer's offense is laughable.
The racist overtones in that story cannot be overstated, especially after he allegedly said that things needed to be explained to them "southern boys" because their college transcripts were embellished.
Yeah if Meyer had said that to an unproven rookie it would’ve been bad enough but the fact that he felt he had the right to make those comments directed at a veteran wide receiver who’s clearly way fucking smarter and more experienced then he is makes it so so much worse.

He has a lot of pieces in place. A lot of solid young talent with some above average vets sprinkled in. Goes without saying that he's a lot more competent of a coach than Meyer, but I'd say he's a lot better than Bradley or Marrone too.

The problem with the plane theory is proximity, he wasn’t fired immediately after that came to light. Urban is kinda right, though. Like, we all knew Bobby Knight was a d*ck, but nobody at Indiana gave a crap as long as he produced winners. A decade after your last first place conference finish, though, you get fired for grabbing a kid’s arm.
It’s a sunken cost fallacy. They paid him a LOT of money and really wanted to fix it.
Yeah, but that just makes the point further. You can fire someone for not liking their behavior, but if you’re willing to try to work through it, then it can’t be cause.

Idk why this whole Urban thing was such a surprise to any body. Guy has been doing these kinds of things for years and all of the sudden because he does it in the NFL, it's some big thing. Couldn’t happen to a more despicable guy…
