    Hi so how about MARPOL regulations? You’ll be discharging oilywater during the blow down.

    Does MARPOL regulation allow to do a scum blow down during this scenario ?

      No.

      @@CLASS4ORALS @4:48 screen it says in the third point not to do a bottom blow down if oil is present. Fourth point it says only do scum blow down several times. Even in other websites it says the same, I really don't understand that part. Btw the video was very educative, thank you ❤

      If u do bottom blowdown, then below the water will drain, but the oil which is present on top of water, it will keep sticking to the walls of tubes as the water level is lowering, and it will be a major job to clean the oil inside.
      Thats why only scum blowdown is done several times..directly remove the oil and impurities from top..and the system is left with only water.
      I hope u understood now. Try to imagine the oil getting sticking to walls in case water is being blowdown in bottom blowdown method.
      Thanks for your kind words.❤

      @@CLASS4ORALS no no.. I understood that perfectly fine.. my question is.. why scum blow down when Marpol prohibits any oil to be discharged ovb. (Or this doesn't go overboard? 🤔)
      Shouldn't we stop the boiler immediately (if possible) and taking all neccessary precautions we manually remove the oil on the surface through the top man hole door?
      Always welcome.

      @@kamaldeenabdullah3424 In this case we can set up the scum blowdown valves to the bilge tank. So now it won't break the MARPOL

    Why do we want to check condensate water test also?

    • @satheeshkumar3252
      @satheeshkumar3252 3 года назад

      Boiler water test is enough for removing impurities na?

    • @Adventures_of_Sahan

      from that, we can ensure if the oil has been entered to steam system or not.
