Heck yeah Aurora Giga Deep Dive! Glad to see you updated to the latest firmware. Was told there is another update in the works to fix a few new minor issues. But really happy that extruder randomly crashing into the bed issue has been sorted
I absolutely love how you put the actual work into giving the most honest and unbiased feedback and reviews. Everyone should strive to match your work, you really are the gold standard! Please know that so many of us have really appreciated your hard work and dedication to giving us the knowledge base on what to buy and how to use it as well! Great job, can’t thank you enough!
I have no desire to watch any other 3D printer reviews; if you two beautiful people didn't review it, I simply wouldn't buy it. I hope the 3D printer manufacturers realize how lucky they are to have you!
I’ve been watching the channel for a long time now and had the same reaction long ago. These two are an incredible team and I learned so much from every review. I bought a Sovol SV05 which they oddly discontinued shortly after (guessing Creality went after them?) after Aurora Tech review and I’m still printing with it. I absolutely love the speed, accuracy and I’ve never had an issue. I just got a K1 SE and AURORA TECH PLEASE REVIEW IT!!! ;-) Anyway there’s my plug. The icing on the cake is, and please no beatings, I’m nearly 60, the icing is they are kids, umm, young adults? Whatever the appropriate term is but honestly these two have full on engineers (myself included) and have had for a LONG TIME, watching their work. Everything from the cinematography, scripting, products, in depth testing and discussion? It is truly something that makes this old man smile every time. This, is professional. The very definition of it.
Wow the two of you are incredible! Now I can print my grandkids their DC doll-house and castle super duper size. Thank you for the great service and effort you put into this keep the info flowing 💪
Congratulations on your success in getting the giant to work!!! As far as I've seen, you're the first reviewer to succeed!!! Eat your heart out, Joel.... hahaha. Another fine review! Well done!
Great video. It was very good to see someone having good success with this printer. I always felt it had great potential if Elegoo could get past all the previous issues so many others have had. Even though i dont have room for a printer this big or the money to get it, it would be a lot of fun to print some big items on. Love all your videos and always my goto source for checking on Pros and Cons of printers.
You did not make a mistake by not connecting the filament sensor, the design logic needs to be reversed so that if the filament sensor cabling is not connected, it shows that the filament has run out. This is simple failure, logic design.
It could have been so good....but everything went cheap...I don't understand why they didn't design this around an enclosure since that is certainly needed. The location of that USB drive is really bad. You're correct - a machine this big will want big nozzles and some big flow rate. It's too bad they didn't consult with someone like Slice Engineering to put a Mosquito Magnum in there or the like. It'll be neat to see what the community mods this thing into.
It would certainly have been a good idea to have that as an upgrade package. Even at 2.5k it's very cheap for what it is, though that also opens up so many issues. It would also have been really nice to get an option for a powder coated welded steel frame. Could have opened up the potential for speed quite a bit. For just a bit more cost in shipping
Hi Aurora - thats a massive printer, 31 x 31 x 39 inches, wow. Thanks for sharing with us. Always good work. i could see the potential benefit of multiple print heads.
Another superb review. Especially for bigger printers variable extruders would be useful if possible. Where flow rate adjusts with nozzle size adjusts with geometric detail and placement.
Nicely done. I don't have the space for it, but very informative. I believe that TronXY has one that is bigger or more, but bed levelling is a royal pain due to size. I would pick this one over it - but I would love to see one print bed instead of 4.
Thumbnail made me think you printed yourself with it haha. Interesting to see some of the same issues other reviewer had still exist, but also the fixes that were added.
❤❤❤❤ I love we are seeing some updates from the first round of testing to this one 🎉 good job @Elegoo Now we just need an update on when backers will start seeing machines. 👍
They have been getting machines for a few weeks now. The biggest issue is because of the size and weight, it is taking 6-8 weeks to get from elegoo to the backer.
Support for AMS-like multicolor addons like CoPrint would be great for large object continuous printing using just regular 1kg spools instead of large ones.
HOLY MOLY That is huge! This machine would be fun if you have a 3D scanner, sit down on the print beds and scan yourself sitting there, then print out a life-size model of yourself sitting on the machine, how cool wouldn't that be?
Based on my experiences with my RatRig V-Core 3.1 500 I would say having 5k acceleration on this huge printer is very respectable. I don't use more than 5k accel for printing moves on my 500x500x500 printer either. I use 10k for travel moves. Setting it for more seems to lead to occasional missed steps. Elegoo seems to have used a thicker and stiffer gantry for the X-axis than the V-core stock one but that makes it heavier too. So it is a fight between having enough spare torque on the steppers to overcome at least slight drag of the nozzle on imperfect print while at full acceleration on one hand and having stiff enough gantry to avoid forcing the input shaper to modify the acceleration too much on the other hand. I would say Elegoo did a decent job here and got a good compromise for such a huge printer.
Thank you for your thorough review. Your upclose shots are very informative. Really nice editing. Just a question: Do you have an airfilter/ air purifier in your garage for all your printers? Thank you so much 😀
This was a very good and detailed video. The printing quality I think for a huge machine like this should be better. Normally with bigger machines you have enough end room to work with where you can put better tech in and more of it. The quality of the prints should have been able to beat out the rest. Also, curious to why the name change as well
Another great and extremely thorough review. No one does it better and I really like the pros and cons lists you do for all of them. I think Elegoo released this too soon and really made some poor choices for hardware and setup. It should have had a top of the line hotend and there is no way a printer with this large of a print bed should have to be manually adjusted with set screws. That is unbelievable to me with all the other printers being entirely automatic for both the bed and Z offset. At this price point of $2500 there isn't much excuse for that. The components they are using are certainly not top of the line and other than the frame itself, I think the design choices are very lacking. I was so excited when I first heard about this printer and they hype certainly doesn't match the end result. I would never pay this much money for a printer with manual bed and Z offset. I am not an Elegoo hater, and I do like many of their other printers and their Rapid series filament is awesome.
1:43 What's a 5051 blower? Do you mean 5015? The long filament path can cause issues if you don't auto retract the filament, just imagine what happens to the filament when the head moves from the front to the back, the filament can catch the part or droop onto the part
A kit that would allow stackable heated bed, would make it incredibly productive, and if the process was automated, it is a contender for larger volume orders on a print farm. One printer that could take care of a single order is less logistically challenging on the print end....

Wanted to try high speed filament and figured I'd try eryone since you use it a bunch, would love to purchase it in a way that benefits the channel for all the great work you do.
8:05 I wish Elegoo makes the SD card reader more accessible to the bottom or the top of the panel instead of cracking the panel open. 12:02 20,000 mm per second? I would like to see that in action! 14:40 I guess I was expecting more for something at 1mm nozzle. Shows how much I know about 3d printing. 19:07 Is that a Grammy? 17:38 Ah, it's an Oscar. I forgot that a Grammy looks like a record player. Ooops.
Can the settings be tweaked to get a better surface finish (more like Prusa or Bamboo) . for printing impeller blade patterns for the foundry ? Your help would be appreciated 🙏
I'm curious if anyone has attempted to enclose this printer, perhaps with acrylic (and weather stripping tape) in order to more comfortably print ABS (or simply to behave more consistently when used in non-temperture controlled environments such as a garage in the winter.
Actually, I think they should slow down heating of the bed. At least for 115V. Going near the limit of the power you can get from one line isn`t great. Alternativly they should use 3 phases to connect the printer to an outlet for ovens. At my home (in Germany, so 230V) renovating my kitchen I actually used a Perilex plug for my oven (Perilex is a 3-phase+neutral+ground connector for 3*16 Amps, esp for ovens) to be prepared for the future. Even it means to buy takeout food for a few days on a big print, this might be better than to overload your electrical system. For 1mm nozzles: Imho there is one function missing on all modern slicers: Different layerheight for outer layers. Why isn´t it possible to use 0.6mm layerheight for a print, but with printing outer layer first with a layerhight of 0.2mm for theese (so the printer would print 3 outer layers on top of each other, with 0.2mm laayerheight each, than the inside of the object with 0.6mm). This would increase the printing time only for the outside perimeter. But as you only can see the outside layer afterwards anyway, this should improve the quality by a lot. Combine this with variable layerhight to get more detail at the top, and you would get great results with only modare increased printing time. Also this printer definitly needs a toolchanger. Not (only) for multimaterial, but for different nozzle sizes. If - for example - you print a landscape, print the bottom with a big nozzle, but change the nozzle if you go upwards for more details. For the design of the printer: It should be more modular. The base, the top, left, right and back side should be made as seperate parts with each having a few thumbscrews (and of course plugs) to connect them together. So you could assemble and disassemble the printer in maybe 20 minutes (+calibrating after assembly). A printer this size does not fit through normal doors.
Can you give more info on how you got the profile into cura. I have tried and it gives an error and can't import. Also did you have issues with connecting to the network?
Why no mains powered beds? Also 30 cubic millimetres per second is pretty bad if it doesn’t increase with really large nozzles. That’s something I’d change in the settings to see how far you can push it. 60W is pretty small too, considering a 70W heater will fit in a normal V6 heater, let alone something like a volcano.
Great Job as always. I was nice to see more of you also and it helped to scale the size of the printer. I wonder how would you rate this printer. i was a bit supprised when this came out as I am in the process of making my oun for a project I am working on and now seeing this review i wonder if i should just buy this instead. No, but they will realize that after they watch this video.

17:38 Ah, it's an Oscar. I forgot that a Grammy looks like a record player. Ooops.
If it can do 30mm3 with a 0.4mm nozzle, switching to 1mm nozzle could have dome much more flow i would safely assume 45mm3 or more.
Great review as always :). P.S Thanks for reminding me to update the firmware in my Elegoo printer 😅.
I have always thought that input shaper should be measured at multiple heights, let's hope this becomes standard.
For big prints this printer would benefit greatly from finding out the actual limits on max flow and acceleration
If the 1mm nozzle maxes out the flow rate then I assume a 0.8 nozzle would print in the same time with a better quality.

Actually, I think they should slow down heating of the bed. At least for 115V. Going near the limit of the power you can get from one line isn`t great. The slicer suggestion for different internal and external layer heights would be so good! Great idea! Hope someone implement it in the future soon!
