Should add Carl Laemmle Jr to this list, who was as much a driving force behind the early Universal monster movies as was his father. He's entombed above Carl Sr.
And also add Carla Laemmle, and "Lurch" actor Ted Cassidy
Why? Lisa Loring is still alive.
Isn’t he second on the list?
you should add any newcomers that have passed away
Hollywood Graveyard at melrose abbey the founding member of No Doubt John Spence. Him and Eric stefani his sister Gwen Stefani started the band. If u ever go back
I'm (no jinx) happy to see that John "Gomez Addams" Astin is still with us. He's 90.
RAUL GOMEZ ADDAMS JULIA SHOULD ALSO BE THERE MAN
Lets hope he lives a lot longer than the rest of the cast
Maybe you can help me John had a Halloween special back in the 80s it had clips of old b&w movies Dementia 13,Night of the Living Dead and the song Monster Mash but I don't think it had a title and he was dressed as a mad scientist and I've tried googled it but it doesn't come up I've even looked at his file with all the films he's done but nothing stands out
Bela Lugosi was probably one of the best actors for horror movies of all time! Certainly was popular with the woman, married 5 times.
Boris Karloff also voiced the Grinch in the original Christmas special from the 60's
It wasn't him but his voice was parodied in the song monster mash.

Boris Karloff did Dr.Frankenstein on the special Mad Monster Party 👹🪅 and Phyllis Diller was the Monster's Mate
Carolyn Jones, was such a great actress ,and a beautiful lady.
Carolyn Jones was my first TV crush. Her beautiful eyes, elegant shape and captivating voice had me tuning in for every episode. RIP
The sexy Mortisha.!
😂
Yes,Carolyn Jones beautiful and a great actress.I grew up watching Addams family.
Carolyn was also in the TV series roots.
Mines too
Lon Chaney was a genius I loved his movies Phantom of the Opera still gives me the chills til this day
Carolyn Jones was so beautiful.
And she deserves a star on the walk of fame. I have many times requested to know why it was never done and the Commission never responds.
Yes,and a great actress,I grew up watching.
According to a close friend of mine, Carolyn Jones was a delightful lady. She took dance lessons from my friend shortly before she died.
She was a very beautiful lady!
Yes she was!!!⚘
Karloff's marker is so modest considering his iconic career.
His body was cremated following a requested modest service at Guildford Crematorium, Godalming, Surrey, where he is commemorated by a plaque in the Garden of Remembrance. A memorial service was held at St Paul's, Covent Garden (the Actors' Church), London, where there is also a plaque.
Watching Halloween special in middle of March. Love it!!!
Bela Lugosi was credited as the star of Ed Wood's "Plan 9 from Outer Space," even though Bela died before the movie was ever made. His scenes, encompassing approximately 5 total minutes of film, were shot by Wood in 1956 to send to movie and TV casting directors to let them know that Bela was alive and looking for work. Unfortunately, Bela died a few months after the footage was shot. So Wood edited the scenes into "Plan 9," and reused one scene multiple times during the movie. Wood used his chiropractor as Bela's stand-in for the movie, even though Bela was about 5'10" and his chiropractor stood about 6'4". Ed figured that no one would know the difference if the doctor held his cape in front of his face. Ummm...yeah,sure. Bela was 6 inches shorter than the chiropractor! How could you NOT notice the difference?

Ed wood wasn't too bright. Lol
Peter Cushing should have been on this list. The man's a legend when it comes to horror. Christopher Lee as well. 😀
They're probably buried over seas.
@@Shiyounin I believe they were both cremated. Christopher's ashes were scattered in the Surrey Hills. A wee mention would have been nice 😀
@@marleybu7984 Fair enough.
@@marleybu7984 I heard that Christopher Lee's daughter refused to allow the fans to pay their respects-I heard that she's a selfish bitch.
Yes exactly loved all of their films,
I saw Boris Karloff's grave while attending my husband's gran's funeral. You really have to look for it.
I love the original horror films! Lon Chaney films are some of the best. They don't all deal with a "monster" but they deal with human nature which can be utterly horrifying. I prize my Lon Chaney DVD boxset among just about all of my movies except Star Wars, Young Frankenstein, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner.
I totally agree. People that won't watch silent films are missing one of the best actors ever! Phantom of the Opera was a creepy film, and the Unknown is, too. What a marvelous actor. Too bad he only made one talkie before he died.
I LOVE how you explain things! So simple, easy to understand and entertaining AF! The music choice fits and your tone of voice makes it too good!
I would love to see all these graves! Especially Bela Lugosi 🦇
Heather O'Rourke could have been saved if the doctors had've been on the ball at the time. Poor child. I always think about her as Poltergeist was the first horror l watched as a child and what got me obsessed with horrors. Rarely are there any good ones nowadays...
Great tour! Thanks for all the work as always!
There here
And There Back
They were too busy covering up what really happened to her. It was a ruptured bladder, not her kidneys.
Peter Lorre!!! One of the greats.😎
What a GREAT way to end my Halloween night! Thanks!!! :-D
Damn! Philben lived a looong life! Aww jamie lee curtis's parents are together! Thats beautiful
Uncle fester / Jackie Coogan , also played the KID with Charlie Chaplin🙏🏼
Boris Karloff's ashes are at the mount cemetery in Guildford, Surrey in the same place that Lewis Carroll who wrote 'Alice in Wonderland' is also buried.
After watching these videos, it really amazes me the modest markers or none at all!
Love the Addams Family.
"It's an Addams!"
I was more of a "Munsters" fan. I wonder why none of them were brought up?
My family
02chevyguy Yeah...that’s true. The majority of the Munsters characters are now deceased. (...even the first “Marilyn”).
Love Morticia Addams. Such a beautiful woman. It's a shame though that Boris Karloff only has that tiny wee marker cos the man was a great actor.
Judy garland now back in Hollywood Forever cemetery. Finally home.
Moving bodies around after 50 years of resting in peace seems a bit odd to me
I absolutely love your videos! So well done and I love hearing your voice. They have a lot of information packed into them and I am so delighted to learn more about people just from where they are resting.
R.I.P To all the ghouls thanks for the awesome memories
Love this Arthur! Your content is amazing and plus you use Hollywood history and treat the star with respect. 😊😊😊
What a great character name...Uncle Fester...Charles Addams was a genius.
Jackie Coogan and Ted Cassidy, one time, were on a flight to Los Angeles, in the 1960s. My parents recognized them, but did not make a scene. At the time I was a toddler.
After the plane landed, my mom was busy getting ready to carry me down the jet stairs. My father was busy with my two sisters. So Ted Cassidy offered to help, and he carried the younger of my two sisters down the stairs.
My sister loved sharing that story. We cried when we heard that Ted died, in 1979.
Also, Jackie Coogan, as a child actor, made quite a fortune with his roles. But he learned that his mother and stepfather squandered his earnings. "The Coogan Law" was named after him; so that child actors, including Jackie's grandson Keith, have 15% of their income placed in trust before they reach age 18 or 21.
Gotta love Bela especially. This video is very much feeding my inner goth.
Bela Lugosi as “Dracula” apparently thought that a character such as that would have that type of persona he presented for him on film. And he pulled it off. I rarely think I don’t see his fangs when he bites someone or see him as a bat-but he’s no doubt Dracula !
He never wore fangs. He refused to. Felt it was beneath him to use any artificial prosthetic.
I got to visit his grave, at Holy Cross Cemetery. Yes, a remark can be made about him buried at a Catholic Cemetery, as a cross was something a vampire could never approach.
The last time I visited some of the celebrity graves at Holy Cross Cemetery, I noted a vampire figurine at Bela Lugosi's grave
Nicely done as usual. Very consistent with the Halloween motif. THANKS and Happy Halloween!
Love it..I grew up with them all on film, and ironically several of those icons are buried just a very brief walk from where I reside now..I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Halloween..
Great Halloween video! I love horror films and especially older ones. My favorite of all time is Vincent Price but you had some really good ones in this video.
RhettyforFun my mother actually met Vincent Price in an elevator years ago. She was on a HS band trip to Washington DC. She’s 73 now so that tells you just how long ago it was. She says she couldn’t speak to him at first until he said, “Well speak child! Don’t you have any manners?” I always laugh so hard when she tells that story. I love it!!!
Vincent Price in a horror movie meant that I would be terrified when the movie ended on the Saturday afternoon movies.
Happy Halloween! This video is by no means comprehensive… just a small selection of entertainers who loved to scare us. There are a few re-visits, but presented in a new way. Enjoy!
Hollywood Graveyard. Happy Halloween🎃🎃🎃👻
HappyHalloween:)
Hollywood Graveyard Loved the way you honored Boris. Wish that someone would let us know where to find Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.
I can DIG IT......Happy Halloween!! ....=^.^=
heather was only 12 when she died that really sucks and that year i was born in august of 1988
This is my favorite history class ... Ever 🙏🏼🌹🌿
Fantastic video. I mean, it's so sad how many of the greatest horror personas have passed over, but the atmosphere in this video is fantasic. And I love how you gave us some background info for each individual. I've only seen this video from you, but will hit subscribe as soon as this comment is posted.
Love your videos! I’m a film buff, especially the silent. I’ve learned quite a bit from your outstanding commentary. I look forward to seeing many more videos from you. Thanks
!
Cancelling "The Addams Family" has to be one of he dumbest moves in the history of TV programming.
or the munsters
Why was it cancelled?

Don't forget The original
Star Trek.....
You're right, it was one of the best "family" shows going. Enjoyed my Friday nights watching them....."you rang". :-)
Thanks again for this quality vlog! Pure quality all the way...wow.
Scatman Crothers not only is he well known in The Shining, but, he's also a great voice actor. He was Jazz The Autobot in the 86 animated classic Transformers movie, Meadowlark Lemon in anything Hanna Barberra needed him as Meadowlark from Scooby Doo, Super Globetrotters and the Harlem Globetrotters series. He also was in Disney's The Aristocats and of course his famous role Hong Kong Phooey.
TheDemonDeuce I think he was also in the tv series Chico&the Man
the brother they cared to show dammmmmmmm
Not to mention his great jazz career and voicing Scat Cat in the Aristocats....
Also the voice of "B.O.B. the robot from "The Black Hole" (1979)
I remember his funny line in 'Chico and the Man'-"stick out your can cuz here comes the garbage man '😅😅
Absolutely classic! I love it. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting this. I never realized just how many wonderful, talented actors I had the privilege of growing up watching on TV.
So very different from the type of actors we have today. ( not saying anything bad about todays actors).
It just seems like we had a totally different "class" of actors back then. ( I'm talking about growing up in the 60's & 70's ). Especially those actors from even earlier than that.
I absolutely LOVED the horror movies back then. ( still do) Vincent Price shall ALWAYS remain my most favorite actor. And his voice !!! It was perfect for the movies he did. I loved October, TV would always do a marathon of his movies.
Thank you to all of them for many sleepless nights as I grew up. (Lol)
May they all Rest in Peace
God Bless All The Great Stars. That. Lived To. Entertain. Us. All. These. Years. Roger Steigleman.
This could be my favorite but it is so hard to choose. Great work !
"It's alive...it's alive, it's alive, it's alive!"
Really?
My youngest brother used to yell that out, when my other brother would amble in to the kitchen.
My brother would scream "The monster is alive!!"
I had a great Halloween, & it was so cool! RIP Heather O'Rourke!
I was watching the Claude Rains version of The Phantom of The Opera this past Halloween Night. I cried horribly at the end. Poor Erik. Why did that one guy throw etching acid on his face again?
So loved this video, and the remembering of all the greatest horror actors and actresses, great job Arthur!😀
Nothing compares to the original monsters... Bela Lugosi will always be the greatest Dracula ever. They are timeless- Lon Chaney, Karloff, Vincent Price and all the others will be etched in our darkest dreams
Hi Hollywood Graveyard! You should really do a Disney edition! I want to see every single grave of all the celebrities involved in Disney, including Walt Disney himself!
Great videos very additive learning about a lot who have passed on.... i thought Christopher lee .Peter Cushing ,Vincent Price and John Carradine wasnt in the line up on the video but i clicked then Hollywood Graveyard ... not too sure where they are laid to rest here in the U k or there in America? but once again thank you for the videos it must take forever putting all of theses together for us to watch :)
Vincent Price was cremated and ashes spread in the ocean.
Happy Halloween everybody. Thanks for posting, loved it !!
This is fantastic! Thank you for this spooky tour. 😊
this is my favorite. i love what you guys do, it's so niche i think it was made for me! i love old hollywood and campy horror. xxx
Great collection. The Shining still scares the bejebus out of me.
It's been stated that Shelley Duvall was particularly frightened, when she did the scene with Jack Nicholson breaking open the bathroom door, followed by his classic "Here's Johnny!!".
IF Shelley Duvall has been dealing with mental health issues, that scene was NOT helpful to her, IMHO.
Really? There nothing really scary with the movie
Wow This was great. Thank you so much for all of the hard work you put into these. They are always very educational and entertaining as well.
May all those who gave us fright and scare rest in peace
Very creepy & kooky, mysterious and spooky.
Altogether ooky...
Where's the Addams Family...?
@@xaraxen the only ones that weren't on here was Lurch and Gomez
brian versansky Isnt Gomez still alive though?
I say it all the time......this is the best channel on RUclips!
How sad that I immediately recognized a Valhalla resting place by the poor shape it's in. Truly shameful the condition that place is in.
Still, thank you for this! My birthday is Halloween, and while I'm not viewing this on that day, I still love the themed special!! As always, fantastic video!!
Hey Hollywood Graveyard, I have an idea, you should do a special on music (with the deaths of many rock legends like Chris Cornell, David Bowie, Prince, etc.)
Great idea!!
David Bowie dont have a grave shamefully
@@johngurnhill4633 was he cremated.they should have plaque or something I family can save some of the ashes.have nieche or something to honor them no matter how they died lot these legends whose music and songs gave lot people pleasure help some to feel better. When I saw the picture for 'The Man Who Laughs' Movie, I realised where they got the Look for The Joker.
Bela lugosi owned a mirror from his movie dracula. It said its haunted and it is now at the haunted museum here in Las Vegas owner is now Zak Bagans from Ghost Adventures.
The mirror is haunted and curses people whoever stares into it.
Theres an episode about it on Ghost Adventures.
Stephanie I hate to say this but do you think Heroine addiction could have made believe that the mirror was haunted?
he is buried in his Dracula Cape
I don't know about that, that might have something to do with his experiences in front of the mirror, but there have been other people affected by that mirror, so there could be something to it.
Caleb Grill ppl
Zak Bagans empty head is haunted by dust bunnies
I wish they would have at least added a memorial of Vincent Price. Although, I know he was cremated and had his ashes scattered at sea. It just doesn't feel right making a Halloween special video and not mentioning him.
Aniya Day there is a Vincent Price life mask hanging on a wall at Gettysburg Dime Museum in Pennsylvania. They are closing in October for good though... :(
true
VeVe el real, they did mention him.
My most favorite actor.
@@cjw2661 Yes, absolutely. I just completed a month long Vincent Price movie marathon. Watched Theater of Blood on bluray last night. I absolutely love that movie. If you haven't seen it, check it out. It's arguably his best film. There are so many though.
Frankenstein was my favourite character, I think I should
get a Frankenstein action figure. Great video indeed, thank you.
Remember, Frankenstein's Monster was most often played by Gunsmoke bartender Glenn Strange! :)
So satisfying! I was hoping you'd do a Halloween Special. Thank you!
Blessed Samhain Arthur!!! I couldn't slam that like fast enough!!! Did it before I even started watching!!! What a cool treat...I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!!! Carolyn Jones, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price,Lon Chaney Jr,Bela Lagosi, Blossom Rock, Margaret Hamilton, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Peter Lorre and Colin Clive were the best at their Kraft better than what we have today RIP to the horrific
So many young stars xx
The Bates Motel set and the house on the hill are part of the Universal Studios tram tour. The last time I did the tour an employee at the Studios dressed up as Norman Bates and approached the tram, with the same soulless look that Tony Perkins was able to do.
Many people swore that the original film had segments done in color, as some swore they saw the color of blood.
A host of one of the Studio Stage Shows mentioned that many people opted for sponge baths, after they saw the shower scene.
Years later Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh were at a tribute to Alfred Hitchcock. Anthony said he was not even on the set the day the shower scene was shot. He also pointed out that Janet Leigh was quite alive and well.
Janet Leigh died in 2004, 24 years after Alfred Hitchcock and 10 years after Anthony Perkins.
Arthur I love your voice. Just amazing
Kevin Eaton he does have a nice voice. I think he should work in Hollywood, he could make a killing.
You should do a 2nd Halloween special for 2020 featuring Mr. Addams and whoever you forgot to add to that list.
John astin is alive
John Astin is very much alive. This year, he turned 92. Only he, and Lisa Loring, are the only surviving original cast members. If anything, there should have been mention of Ted Cassidy (lurch), and Felix Silla (Cousin Itt). I'm surprised Darren McGavin wasn't mention for his role as Carl Kolchak in The Night Stalker movie, and series. While I'm at it, Elsa Lanchester (The Bride of Frankenstein), Vincent Price *numerous films, Christopher Lee, and Peter Cushing (Hammer horror films), Elisabeth Brooks (The Howling), William Marshall (Blacula), Marilyn Chambers (Rabid), Max Von Sydow, Jason Miller, Lee J. Cobb, Jack MacGowran, and Rudolf Schündler, (The Exorcist), John Carradine (Vampire Hookers, The Monster Club, The Howling, Evils of the Night, Monster in the Closet, Jack-O), Donald Pleasance (Halloween films, Prince of Darkness), to name a few.
Lisa Loring just passed away a few months ago
Happy Halloween!
Love the videos man keep them coming! If you ever get the chance to travel to New York check out Gate of Heaven Cemetery. It's where James Cagney and Babe Ruth are resting among other well known ppl.
Great channel. Respect for professionalism. Greetings from Poland :)
I think you should've added Claude Rains to this list. He's buried in New Hampshire. I don't remember exactly where. But, I know him as Dr. Jack Griffin in Universal Studios 1933's The Invisible Man.
As always,brilliant stuff Arthur.
When my mom was a little kid, her older brother took her to see Lon Chaney in "Phantom of The Opera. " the unmasking stayed with her all of her long life. She talked about it and "Frankenstein. " Her brother really knew how to scare a little sister.😮

Love watching your videos. I learn so much from them and they are quite enjoyable to watch.
I was expecting Bela Lugosi in his coffin like any other Dracula ⚰️🧛🏻♂️
In the very beginning of the video, have we ever figured out what type of trees those are? Love them!
I wonder why there re so many unmarked graves, especially of those who were on the silver screen?
I think families were afraid of bad people possibly tampering with their gravesite or maybe they just wanted simple privacy for them. Interesting all around though.
Perhaps people kept stealing the name plates that's the only reason I think they'd not have them.
@@lorriharrington2055 That's exactly why! There used to be a lovely brass plaque in memory of Lon Chaney Senior on the outer wall of a film studio but it was stolen.
