Valley Oaks is where "My Three Sons" actor Don Grady (Agrati) was cremated. Don, who played Robbie Douglas, was also on the Mousketeers and was a gifted composer who wrote the theme song for Phil Donahue's talk show. Don passed after a battle with bone cancer in 2012. Sadly there is no marker. He will forever be remembered as America's favorite son.

Welcome back! A small story: After Ronald Reagan lay in state at the Capitol, his body was flown back to California in a 747 whose route took it on a very circuitous path across the United States (think sine wave vs. straight line), essentially trying to fly over as many states as possible before reaching his final resting place. A very 21st Century kind of farewell...I was an air traffic controller at the time, and got to monitor the jet as it passed through my airspace.
Also, Artie Shaw's version of "Begin the Beguine" is, in my very humble opinion, one of the best Big band recordings ever. thank you for honoring him here.

My two favorite performances (please don't make me choose which one is #1) is his big screen debut in 1955 as Pete V. Morales in "Blackboard Jungle" and in 1979 as Nacho Gomez in the TV miniseries "Centennial" based on the novel by James A. Michener. Both outstanding performances from this great actor.

Watching Nancy Reagan placing a single rose on Ronald's coffin once it reached the Memorial and burial place, her deep weeping and clinging to her husbands coffin ....it inspired me to write some lyrics to a song I later recorded....Have you ever been to the graveyard.....And watched a widow weep......And felt the spirit of sadness as He slowly creeps....over the souls of those standing by...as they hang their heads and cry.....Now She placed a rose on his coffin....As she stood there in black ..........and a tear rolled down her cheek, she knew her man wasn't coming back.....more lyrics are with this song....but some times things that are actually far out of your reach are close enough to take your feelings by storm. And those things spur a reaction that creates some poetic justice for what your seeing and encountering even on a televised grave yard scene. Nancy was truly beside herself....and in my song I also included this line....Now we all have our heroes and today her's is dead and gone.....and tomorrow without him she'll have to face life all alone......The tempo of living is so sweet to those who are connected by that Spiritual rib and marriage gave them a bond that was inseparable. Until death swept him away and her memories of him were all she now. When we get attached our lives become one flesh and that creates a tearing away with great agony when death occur's to one the spouses and the other is left behind. Now they are rejoined spiritually some where in the beyond again....

Of many celebrity deaths that I would mourn the loss of over my lifetime, to this day, no celebrity death ever knocked the wind out of me as much as the death of Karen Carpenter. By the time her disease had kicked in, well, I had grown out of The Carpenters as my favorite (to put it in retrospect, I was 9 when "Close To You" was released), so I had no idea of anything being wrong. I would go to her viewing. And to give you some idea of just how much I was reeling from her death, it would take me YEARS to get the irony that when I went in to view her (there was only 2 people in the room with me, which gave me the opportunity to say goodbye to her by myself), I would not notice when I left that the day I went to view would happen to be Monday - and it was raining when I entered the chapel. And guess which song was my favorite Carpenter song? So I always saw that as a sign that Karen was there in spirit. I still miss her after all these years.

I worked at forest lawn cypress for the last few years Karen Carpenter was interred there. Got to hear stories about her services from people who were working there when it occurred. And hear some interesting stories like how her brother insisted she be removed from the crypt when each of their parents passed to ensure she was always at the front of the crypt. She always had the craziest fans around, one that even threatened my church group at the time that was meeting on the church in the grounds there. When her and her parents were being moved to their current location, my sis was working with me and saw all of caskets being moved.

Welcome back from the Zone! Like so many others, I was delighted to see a new installment. Thank you for visiting Karen Carpenter’s grave. She had one of the most beautiful voices in music. The visit to the Reagan Library was informative. I especially like the panel of the Berlin Wall enshrined there. Keep up the good work ... and stay cool! 😁

Nice to see Cesare Danova included in this video (though, I believe his first name's pronounced Chez-a-ray)! I've been watching him in the short-lived '68 TV series called 'Garrison's Gorillas', to which I was recently introduced, and have been enjoying his performance thoroughly. He was also in Viva Las Vegas with Elvis!

The Reagan Library is one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever been. I’m from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and nothing is as pretty to me as my Mountains. But the view from Reagan’s gravesite is absolutely stunning.

If you grew up in the '60s and '70s, you likely grew up hearing the music of Hoyt Curtin. He wrote or co-wrote the themes to just about every TV show that came out of Hanna-Barbera Studios. It's inestimable how many children looked forward to hearing those themes every Saturday morning, and later in syndication.

Now that we have been loosing some rock legends such as Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek which is really sad of for us music fans. It very hard to hear of their passing but with channels like this, it will be nice remember them along with their great music.

Love your voice, I can now hum the music in my sleep I’m such an aid watcher. I’ve always been so fascinated by the life and tragic death of Karen Carpenter. It bothered me terribly that her crypt was moved by your brother to be next to her parents. It has been inferred that her mother was a driver towards her anorexia nervous for being so hard on Karen aesthetically and otherwise. She was such a beautiful talent, yet so insecure and lonely. It upsets me that she lays next to her mom.
