Arthur should get a recognition for his work from the Hollywood chamber of commerce
I concur... ❤️
Being 70, I'm preoccupied with my dieing, and enjoy these graveside tours! Yours are, by far the best ! Thanks !
You are simply the best bud 🏴👍🇺🇸
Great job like always Arthur 👏👍🏻
What a beautiful cemetery.
I'm drinking, from my HOLLYWOOD GRAVEYARD coffee cup, while watching this video.
What a beautiful cemetery. You did an excellent job ❤️❤️❤️
Norman Gimbal - what a talent! Thanks for another wonderful tour - I enjoy every single one.
While going to college at the University of California at Santa Barbara, I lived just down the beach from the Santa Barbara Cemetery, next to the Santa Barbara Zoo. Being fascinated by cemeteries, I often visited SBC and was happy to see you covered it today. This was in the late 70's and there were not nearly as many famous celebrities buried there then. Thanks, as always Arthur, for another wonderful video! Cheers from Sacramento!
Thank you Arthur for another great tour.21 People didn't like it but 3K did just goes to show who has taste. Can't wait for the next one.
I so look forward to your vids!
You just have that special kind of voice to do this graveyard stuff.no one else could do it like you do. Hang in there .for us ..
I always look forward to your videos! I was so happy to receive notification that you had a new one out!!
Met Fess Parker at his winery back in the 90s ...still have autographed wine bottle , super nice man
lucky
What an amazing experience 🥰
Cari D ....it truly was, I idolized him as a kid ...Davy Crockett....very very nice man had nice chat
Yay!!! More episodes!! 🤟🤟
Yes!!! Thanks for a new episode.
LOL! "A view to die for." I bet they're just dying to get in. 😀
ben trimble
makes one wonder, how many men and women are buried there?
All of um.
Dead centre of town?
I'm stunned at how beautiful & intricate the gravestone of Ronald Colman is!
Loved him.
Thank you for sharing the final resting place of my cousins Laurence & Domino Harvey. There lives were short but important to our family. Just wish I could have met them.
Very impressed by all the research that goes into each one of these😊👍🏻
I remember my mom mentioning Suzy Parker. She was a beauty. I enjoyed her husband in a lot of different shows. Thank you for remembering them.
Many thanks for including Ronald Colman!
I thank you again, Mr. Dark, for your hard work on your awesome videos!!
Alan Thicke was always a favourite ! He did not look his age on his reality show! That Santa Barbara cemetery really is beautiful!
Hi from Northern Ireland
Thanx Arthur, that Susie Parker was so friggin gorgeous. What a babe!
I had the hugest smile on my face when the notification for this came on, love your tours so much and this Santa Barbara Mausoleum is truly beautiful it is like you said touring a castle or a monastery. Glad to see Alan Thicke remembered.
1024laf dont get out much do you?
@@brianws71 You're a swell person.
I had the highest smile reading your comment. Keep enjoying these videos and living your best life!!!😊🍸
What a beautiful cemetery! Thank you for bringing so many old favourites back into our lives and introducing us to so many amazing unknown people.
Alan Thicke
I watched him too when I was a kid
He was so handsome
Carrie Green yeah? Well now he’s rotting in the ground.
@ too soon
I think Nelson Eddy was very handsome! Not to knock Allen Thicke, but Nelson Eddy was born right here in America, in 1901. I love that American Baritone!
The ocean lapping in the background is a really nice touch.
I grew up in Santa Barbara in the 60's and used to run into Fess Parker on the beach. We both had labs that we walked along the beach. The dogs liked to play together. He was very nice to a 12 year old kid.
Santa Barbara is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! Hi Arthur...great tour, as always...love from Liverpool, UK xxx
What a beautiful cemetery. Thank you for giving us a tour!
I so enjoy your visual tours of the Hollywood famous. I get me a large great tasting cup of coffee with two chocolate cover donuts, outide, sitting on the porch with my 15 inch wide laptop watching your documentaries, just makes my day. I am thinking out loud, can you do a series of Hollywood famous animal graveyard videos? I believe its going to be a hit.
Great way to end the day....Hollywood graveyard! Thank you Arthur!
I must say I have watched several of these videos and not are they always consistent from the opening credits to the ending credits. The in between with the myriad of stars is fascinating and sure the big stars are in there but there are so many stars I have never heard of and he has background on them and actually makes you feel connected to them well done sir! This is The best channel on RUclips regarding Hollywood stars final resting places without a doubt!
Beautiful cemetery. RIP everyone.
I loved Alan Thicke. His acting was amazing.
between your videos, Big Bill Anderson and Steve I get to see a lot of interesting cemeteries. I know you work hard on these and it shows. I like how all your styles are different but respectful of of these people's memories. great work ⚰️
Arthur, you were first viewed from my list today.
THANKS!
Simply great. Best commentator I have ever heard. Thanks.
Day off from work and enjoying a new Hollywood Graveyard. Bliss.
I’d like to visit the mission from Vertigo with the church tower!🙂
What I noticed most in this vlog, how well maintained the grounds and markers seemed.
Wonderful as always! Thanks!!
Always informative and entertaining! Love seeing and learning about the final resting place of these stars.
Man, I watch a lot of different RUclips channels, and I NEVER click on any of them as fast as I do this one, when there’s a new video up! As always, thanks for these great pieces!
Iissafaith agreed
Yes INDEED!! Me too!!
INDEED!!
I like them also!
Same
Alan Thicke was my favorite childhood actor. Loved him in Growing Pains and he was in How I Met Your Mother in some episodes. Died too young. RIP Alan
Love your videos so much, I could listen to your voice all day, wonderful and soothing. You really do an awesome job!
Thanks for the mention of Christopher Bernau. “Dark Shadows” is my favorite TV show, and Bernau, though he didn’t have a long-running role compared to some other actors, was certainly a handsome addition to the show. Thanks again!
I liked Chris Bernau when he was on Guiding Light as Alan Spaulding.☺
So grateful you are back at it dear Arthur ! Thank you from the East Coast.
I'd forgotten how wonderfully beautiful Jeanne Crain was/is.
So glad to see you!
The full quote of the epitaph on the grave of Ronald Colman reads thus:
"Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep."
William Shakespeare
From The Tempest, Act 4 Scene 1
Thanx man, A+ for the effort.
CaptKundalini I think a lot of us were going to look up the full epitaph. You get another vote of gratitude from me.
I loved Ronald Colman. He started as a silent film actor, but transitioned well to talkies, unlike many of his peers, due to his excellent voice and unique delivery.
Colman 's delivery was so distinctive that I read this poem with his voice in my head. Thanks for posting!
Damn..... William Shakespeare was deep...
Such a beautiful garden of stones!!!!
I get so excited when I see a new episode! I love the history lessons of each star. Many stars I remember and some I don’t, but I like history all the same! Thanks for bringing these folks to life again!
Absolutely loved Alan Thicke! Such a great TV dad! Thanks for sharing that one. And Fess Parker!
I'm glad to see Alan Thicke remembered. I fondly remember him as Robyn Lively's father in the Disney films "Not Quite Human" and "Still not quite human." He kept acting up to the end. He made a few guest appearances alongside fellow Canadian Cobie Smulders in the show "How I met your mother."
Forgot to add, Domino Harvey was alive at the time of the film starring Mickey Rourke and Keira Knightley and even appears in the closing credits of the film. She died shortly after filming was done. They both attended her funeral.
Merci Arthur! It is a beautiful spot up there!!!!
Lunch break and this pops up last 15 min before I go back perfect timing!
Found this on my wall, I couldn’t stop watching the films, very informative and respectful to each subject
I love it when these come out. I have to admit, I didn't know most of the people you featured, but now I do! Clearly one of the best channels on RUclips.
Literally dropped everything just now
As always another great upload Mr Dark ....you never disappoint 😁 👍
My favorite HGY musical theme starts at 13:59. All of the music in this series adds to the overall effect of each episode.
Dearest Arthur, you are above and beyond... thank you for remembering and enlightening us all about the wonderful folks who made our lives better through their work. I dearly love your videos, a gateway to the past that makes me feel happy and sad all at the same time.♥️
I've read the comments here and come to the conclusion that I am a full generation older than anybody else here! While everyone else grew up with Alan Thicke, I grew up with Fess Parker. In fact, Daniel Boone came on at the start of the raging early teens and I fell madly in love with FP. About a hundred years later I retired from my job and decided to spend at least a full year doing fun, silly things that I never had time for before. This included writing fan letters to all my old crushes. The great thing was that most of them were still alive and were no longer receiving many fan letters - so I got lovely responses from every one. Fess Parker wrote me the nicest note and included a signed 8x10 photo. I still had a Daniel Boone crush!
I'm glad to see your notification on Instagram today. Santa Barbara is one of the most beautiful places on earth but I've never been to the cemetery. Such gorgeous scenery and the view to the ocean is just outstanding. There were several stars here who I've never heard of but they are still interesting to hear about. Thanks Arthur for your great work. It's been months since I started watching these posts so maybe its time to start again?
Oh Arthur, it's a pleasure to see this pop in my notifications. Great job🇯🇲
One could not ask for a more satisfying video. The photography of the cemetery architecture and natural scenery, the ocean views, the well-researched narratives of the many tremendously talented people presented, the music; Oh that music! And, of course, Arthur Dark's signature voice; Oh that voice! I hope Arthur Dark has another Halloween masterpiece for us this year. Thank you so much.
Love your channel! Love that you honor death because it is a part of lifes journey.
*I can’t get enough of these! 💕 Are you doing another Halloween episode???*
Oh how young you are Mr. Dark. Roberta Flack recorded Killing Me Softly before the Fugees!
And originally by Lori Lieberman.
To be fair, he DID say remade.
barbaro138 that’s what I thought... I was like I grew up listening to Fugees but I know Roberta Flack sung this beautiful song before Lauryn Hill
That's the one I remember.
Just a short note to say YOU Sir are Absolutely T H E Best Narrator...I really Enjoy WATCHING Listening...And That VOICE ...Like my dad would say a VOICE that really "TELLS A STORY"
VERY IMPORTANT!!
THANK YOU! 👍😄😁
Was going to go to bed, but i first needed some stars to wish me goodnight. Thank you, love
"Raven haired beauty". Love that line. Another great show. Keep em coming.
Love it, love it, love it! When I clicked on RUclips and saw your new show, I became excited! 🤗
I love the music in the background
Arthur how about starting VIP Graves about those of importance, such as war heroes, presidents, inventors, sportsman, racing car drivers, those who died in disasters such as the Challenger spaceship etc.
GAZZ MAN lighten up...I’m sure someone else is doing that already. As we say in Australia....” calm your farm” maybe this channel is not for you. But don’t minimalise what is happening on this channel. It makes you look superior and judgemental.
Check out Grave Explorations.
@@lestariabadi Yes, Matt at Grave Exploration has more wonderful grave tours.
One of the best channels, by far.
I'm sure you have something planned for Halloween.
Thanks for the video.
Beautiful place where folks can eternally rest in peace. Also, my dream city to live. Thanks Arthur!
Tab Hunter ❤️ I love that he included his birth name, Arthur Gelien, on his stone
Beautiful cemetery. If I lived there I would go just to sit and watch the ocean, maybe have a picnic, looks so peaceful.
When my notification came up I said to my co-worker "Oh Hollywood Graveyard is up gotta go to lunch" thanks again Arthur for another great video.
My parents and one sister are in the Mausoleum in the pines, and both grandparents on one side are in the original mausoleum. When growing up I recall frequently visiting my Grandfather then later both grandparents and we always drove around the cemetary. As a kid the pyramid was the coolest thing. Your video reminds me of my youth as well as my loved ones resting there. Thank you for giving me that experience.
Mr. Dark, can you please do a Hollywood Graveyard of the original cast of The Wizard Of Oz??
great idea
@@heysista321 Yes i like that idea.
Most of them have been visited on previous tours I believe.
@@susanleitch8649 Great minds think alike. You are correct.
@@susanleitch8649 OK, so let's suggest Arthur Dark make a "Clip" show: combining the snippets, with fade in/outs and "Oz" clips of the featured actor.between.
Theres something very calming about these cemeteries
I loved Jeanne Crain and Ronald Coleman. They were real stars. Norma Varden was always a hoot in movies.
I'm so excited to see you've posted. You have to be one of my very favorites!!! Thank you for taking me places!
34 seconds in the music is one of my favorites but the one playing at 4:00 is haunting 👀👍🏿
A beautiful day at a beautiful cemetery. Thank you once again...
Worked on Norm Gimbel’s home. What a nice man he was. Towards the end of the job he took the time to show me his music room. It was adored with gold records and photos of very famous singers and entertainers he worked with. He even handed me his Oscar so I could feel the weight of it. The man was humble and so kind. Old school class act!!
LOVE your series! ❤
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!
Alan Thicke was only in a handful of episodes of This Is Us before he died. It would have been interesting to see how they developed his character. It was a shock when I heard the news that he died. Watched Bradford Dilliman on tv throughout the 1960s. Lots of great details on he and Suzy Parker. I knew about Tad & Tony being an “item.” Your tours are addictive and I will therefore keep watching news entries. Thanks Arthur!
I've never clicked on a video so fast great video love to see all the famous graves you do it so well thank you
Next time you are in New York you should visit Tony William’s gravesite. Lead singer of the Platters. What a voice!
I really look forward to these. Very sad to learn of Heather Angel and her husband having to go through that terrible ordeal. I know lots of Hollywood folklore but did not know that. Great job as always.
Well done as always!! Thank you!
Wow what a wonderful service you are doing! So entertaining, historical and respectful. Hard work but fulfilling.
Suzy Parker. Not sure I in my 65 years have Ever seen such a talented AND beautiful Woman! Hard to imagine coming home to that each night.
