I’m sure it’s been said hundreds of times by now, but I just don’t have the words to express my deep respect and admiration for the work that you do. You show deep respect and maintain the dignity of the people you honor in this way. I look for you every time you post a new post. 1 million thanks and God bless you.
What I enjoy about your series is that we all learn about the actors, actresses, people who worked behind the scenes, sports stars, musicians and their contribution and impact they made. I have leant a lot and enjoyed watching the series.
Nicholas Markowitz's death is such a tragic story and you can really get sense of his parents' heartbreak when you read the epitaph on his gravestone. The video mentions Anton Yelchin plays the character Zack, who was inspired by Nicholas in the movie Alpha Dog. Ironically, Yelchin also died tragically young. He was only 27 years old when his Jeep rolled down his driveway and pinned him against a pillar, killing him.
Yes, Caan and Wayne were that kind of man (like Lancaster and Bronson, too) you think they cant die because they are so bigger than life. So masculine and tough guys. But, when i was young and watch movies of them all in TV and Cinema i often forget that it was 40 or 47 yrs ago, and these Men were adults that time. And then i realise that they are 70 or 80 or more now. And so i will see all my cildhood or Teen heros pass, like Arnold, Stallone, Ford, Eastwood...
Arthur dark would you fufill my suggestion by visiting the grave of John philip sousa please and you are the sweetest kindest most special guy on earth ♥️♥️
Marty was modest about his medal. And he was very moved whenever he heard our National Anthem sung at ball games. He would tear up, thinking of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I wonder how he would feel today, seeing his beloved country in its current state, with so much Antisemitism on college campuses. I think it was a blessing for him that he went to the other side in 2018. It's just too bad he didn't live to learn of President Trump relocating the American embassy to Jerusalem. That happened in May of 2018, after Marty had passed. I think he would have been pleased.
Giving a Shout Out to Hollywood Graveyard. I am a big Fan. I appreciate you going all over to show us where the Famous are buried. I don't want them to be forgotten. After all these years!
I just LOVE your IN- DEPTH look into the lives of each Star!!!! You ALWAYS put your own Spin on each Grave, and I for one APPRECIATE IT!!!! Thank-You Arthur!!!!
Marty Allen was the first celebrity I met when I was a kid. He was either the MC or the talent for the Anaheim Police Department's Annual Ball. After the ball we were back in the Green Room area waiting for a friend of my sister that worked at the convention center. Mr. Allen cones out of his dressing room, thinking we were there for him. He chatted us up and signed a publicity postcard for each of us. "Hello Dere, Marty Allen." I still have it packed away in storage.
You continue to hang on to that signed poster. It's precious. Additionally, perhaps you would be interested in obtaining a copy of Marty's autobiography, if you don't already have one. He published it in 2014, and there still are copies available out there. The title: "HELLO, DERE!" An Illustrated Biography by Marty Allen." I have a copy. It's a treasure.
Thanks! It is just crazy how James Kahn’s son Scott is his spitting image! I am always saying when I watch Scott how he is just like dad in every way! I used to watch James a lot when I was younger. Very interesting vid as usual. 😊
Little trivia for you... James Caan was in "El Dorado" with John Wayne and Robert Mitchum... and his character quotes Edgar Allen Poe's poem of the same name in the film...
Bruce Gary was indeed a great drummer! Saw him in concert with The Knack a few times. One of the tightest intense drummers I've ever seen. RIP Bruce, thank you for some great music!
Thank you for sharing these videos with the whole world, you set the standard of how a graveyard visit should be. /bow. When I watch other people's graveyard visits I can't help but be disappointed because they're not you.
We often feel it's better if the headstone isn't necessary, because its recipient is still alive in this world. Marty would have been 102 this year, and knowing how much he loved this country, seeing how it is today with all of the blatant, unabashed Antisemitism might have broken his heart. God took him in 2018 to spare him that --and COVID. Marty's being Jewish meant a lot to him, and he supported Israel. To have seen it under attack for all of these several months, and to have known that so many in this country, which he so eagerly served during WWII, have been rooting for Israel's enemies would probably have hurt him deeply. Trust in God. He loves us and knows what He's doing. Eternal happiness to you, Marty.❤
Dark Shadows scared the hell out of me!! I watched as a kid sitting on my nanny's lap. I still love it, now 65, Barnabas is my favorite!! Thanks Arthur, your videos are a time machine, taking us back to visit our youth and beyond. Cheers from Northern California. ❤❤❤
Me too! I watch it every now and then. I finally got to see the last episode. It wasn't anything I thought it would be. Let's just say that for once it ending was cool.
My mom would gather me up after school (kindergarten) and we’d watch Dark Shadows every day. Fond memories of that. I loved it but I think she got a kick outta me being so entranced by it. 😂
Jonathan Frid starred as Barnabas, the vampire. I used to watch Dark Shadows nearly every day. It was quite the different serial than General Hospital and some of those others that my mother liked.
I loved James Caan, since he was in Brian's Song, RIP also, I remember watching Marty Allen on TV, he was so funny! The comedians in that era were the best! RIP James and Marty and all of those you shared with us! Thank you, Arthur!
I love this channel but as I get older it reminds me of my mortality! I am 56 and the amount of stars I have outlived is staggering. Although, they did have many vices.
Cheers Arthur, it’s Sean in Atlanta! I can’t tell you how much this has made my day! I absolutely look forward to each and every video you produce so thank you so much and have an absolutely smashing day! Sean
SQUEALS!!! I cannot believe I get to see another new video!!!! Wonderful, as always, Mr. Dark. Thank you for making this author psyched!!!! Love from CT.
James Caan: Brian’s Sing, Elf, Sonny in The Godfather (great death scene), Misery and Eraser. I like those movies Solomon “Terry” Becker: voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was one show we all watched as a family along with other Irwin Allen shows Lost in Space , The Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants! Marty Allen: What I remember the most about him is when he came in the Mike Douglass Show and whe Mike asked him what he was working in, he said he was going to be a judge at a nudist colony in Roselawn, IN, a few miles from where I was living! That crazy hair! Dan Curtis: We would run home for lunch just to see the show and then talk about it at school the next day! Howard Caine Cohen: Liked watching the Hogan’s Heroes reruns in the 1970s right before Crane met his untimely death! George Wylie: The Gilliligan’s Island theme is one you just can’t get out of your head!. I like the dirty version of The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! Beautiful, Respectful, Insightful and Moving Installment of Hollywood Graveyard! Thanks Arthur!!!!
@@denicesanders4586 You know, when you are a kid you make up dirty lyrics to a song? If you listen to the Howard Stern Show, cast members and listeners make up dirty lyrics to sing about cohort Robin Quivers. I wonder what Marty would have thought of that? He would probably have gotten a big laugh out of it. When he was in the Army Air Corp in Italy, he befriended a little dog until it one day disappeared. He revealed that in his autobiography, "HELLO, DERE! An Illustrated Biography by Marty Allen." If you or your brother don't have this book, I highly recommend it. It came out in 2014, and copies are still available.
Marty Allen received the Soldiers Medal for saving lives when a fire began while others were boarding a plane driving off a fuel truck. He then returned using his own body to put extinguish the flames and was given an even more rare honor by full dress parade in recognition of his Valor. His name is at the top of the list when you look up what the medal is for online and salutes bravery of those who saved others often away from combat...🇺🇸
Not only do you pay homage to this people, you keep their memories alive by introducing a new audience to their work! I always stop and search throughout your videos! Absolutely, amazing content! Thank you! Ps Jimmy Caan, what a legend
Hollywood Graveyard should do an entire video on Westminster Abbey! Poets’ Corner is favorite section! I never been to Westminster Abbey! But it looks exciting.
Sometimes I lose track of my favorite actors and actresses. Well here is where I get my answers and other great tidbits of who wrote and composed for series and movies I saw. Thank you Arthur and Hollywood Graves💕
Thank you for this one, two of my still favorite TV series, Dark Shadows and Kolchak, are all thanks to the creative genius of Dan Curtis. I am also a huge fan of James Caan. May their memories be for a blessing.
So sad what happened to Bob Crane who starred as Colonel Hogan. I don't think they ever solved the mystery of who murdered him. The jury acquitted the one suspect they had, who later died. I'm still not so sure that guy was innocent...
Great revisit to Eden! So many interesting Writers, Producers, Actors, Composers a few Directors, a funny Comedian and even a sad story of a Murder Victim. James Caan was a incredible character actor, one of my favorites. I remembered most of them during this video. May they all continue to Rest In Piece.
My favorite James Caan role was as, "Alan Badillion Trahern." Good Lord Mississippi!
@@robertwatkins364 for me it has to be Sonny Corleone from "The Godfather" and Frank from "Thief" not to forget "Alien Nation"
The Godfather seen was pretty dramatic.
They put 30 rounds in him! 😂
I loved James caan, especially in Misery 😢
"Rest In Peace"

Thanks for featuring James Caan, my heartthrob growing up. I was devastated when he died. Definitely one of the all time greats.

@christopherwilkinson7935 Arthur only vists celebrity graves! His channel's called Hollywood Graveyard not Family Graveyard.
Always up for some Hollywood Graveyard!
Me too!
Excellent work, Arthur. Glad to see Marty Allen's marker. I remember him well back in the 60s. He is a WWII war hero. Look up his service record.

Another great Hollywood Graveyard video. I didn't realize James Caan was there, great actor. Thanks, Arthur, for the tour.
James Caan, wow. Misery, The Godfather, to name but a few, legend. Thanks Arthur and crew.
Rollerball, a big and controversal Box Office success, and the bad guy in Eraser...and, and, and...
