There were a couple more sites I had hoped to get for this episode, but given the state of things, it likely would have taken weeks to get there. I didn't want to wait that long, and I figure you all could use this now... hopefully a little ray of light in a dark time. Enjoy, and stay safe my friends!

Room 8 has to be my favorite of those talked about. The fact a cat was so punctual as to show up everyday and just hang out, letting who knows how many sticky and heavy hands pet him. He must have been a great comfort to the children on the bad days every student has.
That the school welcomed him and worked with/around him? How many children hugged that cat as they cried? How many screams and squeaks and squeals of joy and excitement did he endure for his children? How many stressed-out 'temper-tantrums' and breakdowns did he avert and defuse simply by being there, always there to be petted and stroked no matter what was going wrong? How many stuttered and stumbled over words did he listen to, spoken by children just learning to read or trying to strengthen that skill?
It is firmly my belief that animals, especially those with the right temperaments, can work miracles. And Room 8 was one of them,

I have lost 3 dogs in my adulthood. Ginger, Chloe and Domino. When you mentioned the Rainbow Bridge I started crying all over again. I hope to see them soon, especially my little boy Domino. He was 17. I love you all. Ginger was 18 and Chloe was 12. They were both rescued from an animal shelter. On Ginger's last day before going to sleep, I adopted her. She was 8 at the time. She lived another 8 years. All were my babies!

So do I. I have 6 cats over the Rainbow Bridge and I miss each and every one of them. I have two now. I don't know if I'll adopt any more. All the cats, except one, who is buried in his favorite place in the backyard where he soaked up the sun, were cremated and sit in my kitchen window where they can watch the birds. And, though it might seem strange, I talk to them, even though they are no longer with me. They were my 'children' since I wasn't blessed with human ones.

I've always wanted to go to the Los Angeles Pet Cemetery , but in the 9 times I've been to LA, I just couldn't make it happen.

I can’t believe you posted this vid today... my oldest girl dog, Cleo the Shiba Inu, passed away at the ripe old age of 18 years. She was such a trouble maker, mainly escaping any yard or confinement we tried to keep her wrangled up! She was the sweetest Shiba Inu!!! She did a lot of time in doggie jail from her escapades. I swear she had 3 microchips!!! And if any of you have a doggie that likes to escape home, I highly recommend getting them the Home Again program. This saved my family from the heart break of Cleo not being identified and returned to us. Or rather me going to doggie jail to spring her out. She was such a sweet girl and I know she’s with my mini poodle Cocoa that passed away in October from cancer. This last year has broken my heart. Rest In Peace Cleopatra Atencio. Forever loved!!! :,(

I am so sad for you that your beautiful dog has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. No matter how old, we want to keep and hug them forever. I have seen the face of one of my dogs after she'd left me. I saw her laughing face, ears flapping, eyes shining. It was only the next day I realised that she had lost an eye with glaucoma yet here she was, both eyes shining. She just wanted me to know she was whole again and happy. I found this so comforting. I hope you find peace of mind and heart. Warmest wishes.

@@wallys11000 It's funny how rarely we see our own beloved lost pets, yet others do. Bess, the dog who appeared to me had bone cancer unbeknown to us. She damaged her leg but the vet thought it was probably just an injury, although the cancer was then diagnosed. She went downhill rapidly over the next two days. That second day I knew we had to say goodbye. My other dog, Lucy, and I lay with Bess on my bed for hours that day. She loved music, so we played gentle songs and tunes all the time. I held her, stroked her, told her how beautiful and loved she was, over and over. She had been cruelly treated before she came to me. I still wonder if she allowed me to see her because she was so surrounded by our love that day.
On the other hand I saw my best friend's cat twice. I often went in to let her dog and new pup out at lunchtimes. Barney, the spirit cat followed me up the path one day then disappeared. The last time I saw him was in 2008. My friend's house had been flooded out in 2007. I went to see to the dogs one day and saw Barney's tail pass down the side of the replacement settee. I think he was inspecting the new furniture!! I always believe when we get a pet they burrow a tiny hole in our hearts. When they say goodbye they curl up in that little hole and become part of us forever. That always comforts me. Your Gigi sounds so gorgeous. Her memory will always remain part of your life and continue to enrich it.

Aloha H.G! My own pet stars were my dog "Lulu," who was a mix of Black Lab, and Beagle I called her a "Labeagle"- what a good dog! She used to steal single shoes off my neighbors doorsteps. We had quite a collection.😄 My longest lived star, & most adored was my all black Japanese Bobtail cat that I found as a tiny kitten walking along a highway. When I pulled over to pick him, I walking quickly, afraid he would wander into the road. Instead, he ran toward me & jumped into my arms!...it was like a scene from Love Story! His name; Big Black Bendy- for his short, bent tail. He lived to be 21.😊🐾

It was a bit difficult to locate but thanks to a nearby resident we found it. The home wasn't occupied or lived in at the time so we kinda just walked towards the back to check it out. Its a nice grave.

I know, right? But one Human Actor had more talent than today's horrible Actors and Actresses. His name was Claude Rains. Great, great Actor! He had a film career that spanned 6 Decades! Perhaps best know for portraying The Invisible Man, in 1933, he also played The Wolfman's father, and The Phantom of the Opera, in Universal's 1943 adaptation of the film of the same name! Claude died in 1967, of an Abdominal Hemerriage. He was laid to rest in Red Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire. May he rest in peace.

So so true, my partner and i raised Shih Tzu, we had the mom and dad and kept two of the boys from her first litter, they are all gone now, the last boy Baby we just lost at the beginning of this year at 16yo. In between we also rescued animals, mainly parrots, but also have a few Macaws that were born here, and at the age we were at this time, they also will out live us sadly. As far as turtles which we have a pond of Red Eared Sliders, the average life span is 20 to 40 years which a few of them will out live us, but on the other hand we also have three Sulcata Tortoises which will most definitely out live us at an average live span of 80 to 150 years. That being said we do understand that some arrangements will have to be made (soon) due to the fact that we are not an organization, we have done all this for the love of all animals that we could take in and care for, just trying to do our part!

In the early 20th century, a Collie Breeder named Albert Payson Terhune wrote several Dog books, which were very popular. Today his estate, known as Terhune Memorial Park-Sunnybank, in Wayne N J is open to the public. Many of the dogs made famous in his stories are buried there and their graves can be visited. Terhune's work is still found in todays 'rough collie' breed. Two of his most famous stories are: Lad, A Dog, and The Heart of a Dog.

The story of Kabar always reminds me of our Aussie ' Pilbara Wanderer' Red Dog.
Just hitched a ride into town one day, and was made a union member of the mining town. His Master, John was an American bus driver fore the miners, took him in.
Sometime later, John died in a Motorbike accident after hitting a kangaroo and swerving off the road.
Red Dog waited out front of his house for weeks before wandering around Dampier, and then he wandered all around Western Australia, as far north as Darwin, seen in Perth, and even hitched a boat ride to Saganoseki, Japan, all in search of his master John. He would basically Hitchhike with truck drivers...My grandfather was one of them, and train drivers too. After a while, he returned and the community took him in again and had him registered as a community dog, he died after eating fox bait, and he died at the gravesite of John.
There's now a statue for red Dog in Dampier.

I've got a herd waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. I've adopted so many critters in my lifetime. All were well-loved. One time, when I was about 6, I went with my dad to a local farm. He was a mechanic and went to fix some broken farm machinery. The lady of the house thought I should have a couple of kittens so she tucked them in the pockets of my coat. When I got home, my mom heard mewing from my coat and had to investigate. I got to keep the kittens, (who can say no to a 6 yr old little girl?) and they were named John and Deere.
