Thank you so much for highlighting so many of the Lesser Afro-American stars that long since been forgotten once again I thank you from the bottom of my heart❤
An extremely sincere thank you for this one. Your videos showing the "big name" stars are great, but you have done such a service reminding us that behind the stars there were so many talented actors, performers, and musicians that aren't household names. You give these people the respect and dignity in death that they deserve.
I was more of a Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers kid, but I liked Romper Room as a 70's child. Never knew Sally dance with bubbles, I will have to check out her film.
I wrote some of these bios for Find A Grave....it is a great honor to see them visited and remembered on Hollywood Graveyard....I wish we could do something for some of these stars who are buried in community graves or unmarked graves. I would donate for sure! Thank You, Arthur!
This is a reminder that, for every big name actor, there are a whole number of people who were not big names who also starred in or supported the making of entertainment. This makes me think of everyone in general. Fame isn't everything and death is the great equalizer.
My grandma when she was 13 snuck into a Sally Rand show in the mid 30's, It was being held in the Brady Lake Electric Park just outside of Kent, OH. Rand's show was a big deal, and my grandma was not going to miss it. My grandma spoke about it like the most beautiful show she had ever seem.
Back in the late 40's and early 50's when the Globetrotters traveled around the county, going into small towns playing against the locals, my father was on one of those city teams and played against Boid Buie. My father has said of him, "He was simply incredible, watching him play, you would not even think that he had just one arm!"
I noticed that too over all his Uploads. People dying at 51 from heart attacks😳. But it was a different time. Everybody🚬 & drank to excess. And the stress of being an entertainer without all the “conveniences” or “luxuries” available to them today. So Sad 😢😞😢
I appreciate those highlighted on today’s tour, especially Mary Ford. She has a place in my life story. Her hit in 1954, “I Really Don’t Want to Know,” asked how many arms have held you, how many lips have kissed you. My mother told me she sang that song to my father as they were on their way to elope! 😂
How you find all this background information, on even lesser known people…astounds me!!! You do it every single time….you find info on the cremated people without markers….I’m just in awe of your tenacity, and drive to give these people voices, and teach us about them. Well done!!! I am a complete Tapophile..so I love this so much!! Thank you. And thank you for my Hollywood Graveyard T-Shirt!!!❤️ I wear it everywhere. (I bought this T-Shirt, it was not given to me)
Forest Lawn Covina Hills! Very familiar with it, as my grandparents are buried there. My grandfather was a veteran of WWII and could have had him and my grandmother buried at the National Cemetery in Riverside, but, they bought their plots there in Covina along with a lot of their neighbors and friends. Back in the day when going door-to-door selling cemetery plots was the fashion, along with going to town with onions on their belts.
I often find that while watching these great videos it makes me think of my own mortality, and life is but a thing we are loaned and it can be taken from us at any time and no matter how we live and we'll we do , we all end up the same.
I love that you remember the supporting, lesser-known stars and hope you will do that again! Doodles Weaver can also be seen in "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" as the hardware store owner.
What a great job, showcasing character actors. Some of these people were fundamental to the plot ,and they deserve their moment in the Hollywood Graveyard spotlight. Thank you for bringing us Hollywood Graveyard,I will continuously go back and watch the older episodes ❤.
I loved Nurse Malik McGrath on ER. Dearon Thompson, a.k.a. Deezer D, also had Malik do some raps over the hospital intercom when the staff was bored/not busy.
Hampton Hawes' recordings are still widely available and sound wonderful. _Raise Up Off Me_ is a great read and still in print. His pardon from President Kennedy came just _3 months_ before the assassination. Luck was with him.
I'm guilty I did drop what I was doing and went right to this video. Seemed so long ago since the last one but only around a month ago. Thank you for making these videos to share with us who look forward to them. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
Nice! I’ve been waiting for another video. It’s great to get the big named stars, but it’s just as important to get the co-stars and lesser known actors/actresses. These deep dives are going to be entertaining and will teach us about things we otherwise may have never learned. Thanks for the work you put in for our entertainment, A.D.
Interesting to hear my state of Vermont is also an Avenue in the cemetery in a California cemetery where Big Joe Turner lies in peace. From a proud Vermonter, thank you Joe for the music
Absolutely shameful that that cemetery was neglected because of the people buried there. Bravo to the gal that spearheaded the revival. My fave was Miss Mary Ann's grave. I had Romper stompers when small. I remember them as being yellow with green string.
Heyyyyyyyyy 🙋🏽♀️Arthur💜💜💜. I was recently on medical leave and binged every single episode - even the ones I’d seen before. That left me wanting more so imagine my joy and excitement when I clicked on RUclips today 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 Your hair has Grown 💜🥰💜😂💜 THANK YOU 🙏🏽 For the new Upload. I can sleep peacefully tonight 😅😂😅❤
Was cool to see Dudley Dickersons plot..he was so funny in those Three Stooges shorts..his famous screen saying is enshrined in the Three Stooges museum near Bethlehem, Pa..."this house is sho gone crazy"..😂
I just looked up Priscilla Lawson (RIP) when the old "Flash Gordon" serial popped up on my RUclips Suggested Views - I liked Dale (Jean Rogers), but Princess Aura was awesome (Lawson). Thank you for remembering all these great entertainers & artists.
OMG. I used to hear “good do bee” when I was a kid (in the 1980s)… with little context, except that it was a positive, and I always thought it was spelled “dooby.” But finally… an origin story. And an actual connection of sorts to The Romper Room, who knew. Thanks Mary Ann King (and Arthur!)
I remember as a child back in ‘66- 69 watching Romper Room and hoping she would say “and I see John”….and being so please when I actually believed she saw me!
Wow Wee! So many Cemeteries in LA County! Covina Forest Lawns Mosaic Biblical Murals were Incredibly Beautiful! I enjoyed Mary King’s Marker it Perfectly represented who She truly Was! How Lovely those who’s Ashes we’re not forgotten with some kind of Marker! The Compton Angeles Abbey looking like in India was Breathtaking the Artistry inside and out was Remarkable! How Poetic to see so many Wonderful Black Entertainers at Lincoln Memorial Park! What a Treat to end at Catalina Island in Avalon with such a Sweet Statue of Old Ben the Seal! As Always a Amusing and Fun Tour Arthur! Thanks for taking us Along with You it was Pure Joy! 😍💁♀️😎
Omg!!! I was born and raised in Compton. It's my dream to take over this cemetery one day!! Wish I knew you guys were there. Thanks for coming to the city #ProudComptonGirl!
I found your site a couple of weeks ago. I have binge watched each episode starting with your first posted episode. I had no idea how addictive it would be. I have enjoyed every one, even those that scared me a little.
Excited to see a new video from you ! It always bothers me that people that have accomplished something in the entertainment business don't have a little something on their head stone for others to remember them by.
Thank you, Arthur for remembering all of these people. And, thank you for introducing us to new names and sharing their stories. Your work is so very relevant and educational!
Another wonderful documentary. I always learn something about the people you post. At the 22:19 mark, Freeman Davis is a Prince Hall Scottish Rite Mason 32nd degree. Many black entertainers and sportsmen were or are Prince Hall Freemasons like Shaq. Rest in Peace Brother.
I was born and raised in Dana Point CA . I grew up going to Catalina island often. Very interesting to know that there are famous people buried there. I loved renting a golf cart and drive around the island especially going to Wrigley's mansion
Man, there's nothing like a Sunday afternoon with HG. And how wonderful it is to keep these "minor leaguers" in the public consciousness. Now they are truly immortal.
I grew up watching Romper Room (born in 1962), I loved that show and felt like she saw all of us. Arthur, thank you for sharing the stories of those who are not headliners in shows/stages or musicians. They all meant something to their families and friends. I appreciate you sharing their stories.
Interesting video. I had no idea that Deezer D had died. I remember him on ER as Malik (Mah-leek) McGrath. He was good. RIP. Most of the people in this one, I had never heard of but were still worthy of being remembered. Thank you.
Thank you for your hard work Mr. Dark. Thank you featuring black actors or singers who may not been as famous but contributed much during their time. I had no idea The Bird Song was originally done by a black artist. Thank you for all that you do.😊
We all know the drill, once a new Hollywood Graveyard drops, you drop everything you are doing and watch.
I have to laugh because I did that very thing!
Same
Me too
You are so right
Basically yes
Thank you so much for highlighting so many of the Lesser Afro-American stars that long since been forgotten once again I thank you from the bottom of my heart❤

Good job with this video Arthur, it was very enjoyable. Thank you very much.
My thoughts exactly Bro 👌
Isn't that the truth! Always looking forward to the next one.
I recall the rap song" Crack Killed Apple Jack" as a teen. That is sad one of the singers was killed.
I was more of a Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers kid, but I liked Romper Room as a 70's child. Never knew Sally dance with bubbles, I will have to check out her film.
Phil Hartman's ashes were scattered off Catalina as well. Great job once again.👍
The cemetery in Compton is beautiful, but the fact that it's in Compton likely keeps a lot of people away.
I love the music of the Platters.
I wrote some of these bios for Find A Grave....it is a great honor to see them visited and remembered on Hollywood Graveyard....I wish we could do something for some of these stars who are buried in community graves or unmarked graves. I would donate for sure! Thank You, Arthur!
Thank you Arthur for taking a picture of Carl White's grave and posting it to his memorial!
Here here
Umm, 😂!
This is a reminder that, for every big name actor, there are a whole number of people who were not big names who also starred in or supported the making of entertainment. This makes me think of everyone in general. Fame isn't everything and death is the great equalizer.
Gone but never ever forgotten
Only Hollywood Graveyard could take me away from March Madness. Thanks for another great video.

Thank you for remembering both Nobu McCarthy and Gladys Bentley.
Back in the late 40's and early 50's when the Globetrotters traveled around the county, going into small towns playing against the locals, my father was on one of those city teams and played against Boid Buie. My father has said of him, "He was simply incredible, watching him play, you would not even think that he had just one arm!"
Another wonderful video Arthur! It's such a shame how young so many of the entertainers were at the time of their deaths!
I noticed that too over all his Uploads. People dying at 51 from heart attacks😳. But it was a different time. Everybody🚬 & drank to excess. And the stress of being an entertainer without all the “conveniences” or “luxuries” available to them today. So Sad 😢😞😢
Arthur dark would you fulfill my suggestion by visiting the grave of john philip sousa please and you are a sweet kind guy on youtube ♥️
Yes I kept saying wow, so young

Great story😊
Thanks I appreciate you ❤
Superb discussion of Gladys Bentley - respectful, compassionate and sensitive to the complexities of the historical shifts through which she lived
I can't click on these videos quick enough. Thanks Arthur Dark.

Thank you so much,Arthur🪦 RIP to all of these legends💔
Yay! So happy to see another video.
@11:35 "I haven't been out of work since the day I took my pants off" Thank you; I needed that laugh! RIP all. Interesting, as always.
I"m glad you guys are back.🙂
Appreciate you highlighting a charity that’s cleaning up their cemetery. That’s awesome!
Onions?
Dudley Dickerson made every Stooges short he was in even funnier than just the Stooges. Thank you for sharing his eternal resting place.

You have The finest show of it's kind on the net!!
I often find that while watching these great videos it makes me think of my own mortality, and life is but a thing we are loaned and it can be taken from us at any time and no matter how we live and we'll we do , we all end up the same.
Thank you again Arthur! Hope you are safe and well! Best wishes!

Thank you. I like the long videos 😊
Welcome back Arthur with another great video of celebrities 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I loved Nurse Malik McGrath on ER. Dearon Thompson, a.k.a. Deezer D, also had Malik do some raps over the hospital intercom when the staff was bored/not busy.
I also love that Arthur enjoys the stained glass in these buildings as much as I do….just beautiful. Thankyou Arthur 😘🙋♀️
Another one 😊 thanks Arthur !
I so love when Hollywood Graveyard begins and I hear Giuseppe Vasapolli's music♥️
Something about his music just makes me happy😊💫
Giuseppe is also very awesome! I always listen to his music, an want some of it for my wedding/funeral 😅
Hampton Hawes' recordings are still widely available and sound wonderful. _Raise Up Off Me_ is a great read and still in print. His pardon from President Kennedy came just _3 months_ before the assassination. Luck was with him.
I love learning about the people who helped the stars achieve greatness! Also the silent stars who we need to remember! They were amazing talents!
I'm guilty I did drop what I was doing and went right to this video. Seemed so long ago since the last one but only around a month ago. Thank you for making these videos to share with us who look forward to them. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦
It's nice to see a Canadian actress in this video, for once we're not forgotten.
There are many pretenders to the throne, and some do admirable work, but the sun shines brightest on Dark.
Welcome back guys
Mate, the withdrawals had already started! Slight itch when driving past cemeteries, sleep depravation etc
Thanks for the upload
Deezer D was also in Fear of a Black Hat as one of the Jam Boys!!!!!
In and out is the best bugger joint …
My fav when I’m in California
I have missed you Arthur.love the history lesson.great video💐🏵🌹🌺🌻🌼

Finally welcome back Arthur , we missed you! More videos and with longer duration! it's never enough your vlog ! 😄

Yeah! Thank you for a new vlog!
Brilliant video for a Sunday night. 👍
Always worth the wait brilliant work as always
Dayum, Lucille! My ears are still blushing!
Another great film, Arthur. The best producer of videos on RUclips. In my opinion.
My late husband was a lifeguard for LA County. The reference is sentimental. Thank you ❤

Hay Arthur, I’ve missed you, so wonderful to see you back! As soon as your post alerted me, I started watching. Love your channel.

Just discovered that the Compton mausoleum was also seen in Phantasm 3......was trying to find it's location. Thank you Hollywood Graveyard.
I really enjoyed this video of some of the not so well known entertainers. Thank you! I never knew Sally Rand performed into her 60's right on. 👏
I remember as a child back in ‘66- 69 watching Romper Room and hoping she would say “and I see John”….and being so please when I actually believed she saw me!
I, too, kept hoping that she would see me, but with a name like Brent it was not going to happen.
@@rebadaddy I hear ya Brent. Doubt that helps but it’s the best I can do! Lol

Welcome back Arthur. I don't go on RUclips without looking for your videos.
I’m so excited to see a new Hollywood Graveyard. Your videos are special and I always learn something new.
The narrator has a most soothing and relaxed manner. Could listen to his voice for hours.
Hello Hollywood Graveyard Fans and Mr.Dark. Hooray 🎉🎉🎉 another stellar video.. much anticipate. Much love from Ga.
I love when you do stories on lesser supporting people. And musicians. And I too drop what I am doing to watch these. You do such a fantastic job.
Thank you so much for all your hard work always enjoy
Yay way to go Hollywood Graveyard. Definitely my favourite channel on RUclips. God knows why….. literally.
The laundry can wait. Arthur is on.
Thank you Arthur for doing this!! I LOVED IT! They all deserve it! Awesome as always!!!❤❤❤❤

I found your site a couple of weeks ago. I have binge watched each episode starting with your first posted episode. I had no idea how addictive it would be. I have enjoyed every one, even those that scared me a little.
Been watching your channel for years, it's been my go to channel to relax and enjoy great content , thank you!
Romper Room. One of the few earlier memories I have. ❤
I really enjoyed this video. I often wondered what happened to some of them. I remember when I was a child and watched Miss Sally from Romper Room.
I used to watch Romper Room as a kid. I specifically remember watching that show.
When I couldnt imagine you, Arthur, going above and beyond, you amaze me. Catalina Island. Bravo! Another one! Just fascinating!
As a kid, I loved "A Day With Doodles". Corny but funny; he played all the roles & narrated each short episode.
Love. How. He. Speed's. Up. The. Next. Showing. And. Yes. Very. Well. Spoken. Thanks. Much. I'm. 55. And. Yes. Time. Flies. Mercy.
Excited to see a new video from you ! It always bothers me that people that have accomplished something in the entertainment business don't have a little something on their head stone for others to remember them by.

You are simply the best...period!!!
You do an excellent job on your videos the work that you put in is amazing
Malik was one of my favourite characters on ER! May Deezer Rest in Peace.
Man, there's nothing like a Sunday afternoon with HG. And how wonderful it is to keep these "minor leaguers" in the public consciousness. Now they are truly immortal.

It amazes me how you find these all these times woolen and graves. Thank you. I love the videos!!!!
Interesting video. I had no idea that Deezer D had died. I remember him on ER as Malik (Mah-leek) McGrath. He was good. RIP. Most of the people in this one, I had never heard of but were still worthy of being remembered. Thank you.
