I am more than convince that Arthur deserves an academy award for best short documentary. He puts these series of Hollywood Graveyard so zealously and so well told. The way he briefly tell us about every single deceased celebrity with a perfect synopsis of each individual beginning, work, controversies and method of death. I would like him to feature the nitch of my favorite movie mogul Dino Delaurentiis who is interned in Communale Cemeterio in Torre Annuciatta, Italy.
I would be surprised if Hollywood hadn’t already noticed him. Talent gets noticed. As soon as somebody figures out a way to profit off of him, Arthur will remain on their radar.
Victor Hugo I was wondering where he was buried! I grew up just 4 houses away from were he wrote " Les Misérables ", in Guernsey, Channel Islands. He was in exile there and had big house in Hautville, or up town, with a view from his top floor that could see his beloved France on a clear day! His House is a museum and as he left it!
There is something inarguable, something irreducibly honest and right about Arthur Dark. We are all blessed to enjoy his exceptional creations. Thank you so much. Stay cool in the Valley.
Thank you for visiting the classical composers. Their music is so important and too often overlooked. The movies wouldn't be the same without classical music.
It’s funny, I was listening to the Doors on the way back from a road trip. Roadhouse Blues, People are Strange, and Riders on the Storm are my favorites.
People are Strange is one of my favorites too. James Morrison was a prolific writer who was taken from us 😳much too soon. I wish I could visit his grave and silently thank him for his beautiful and thought provoking words that he gifted to all of us. Maybe someday. ❤️
My wife and I have visited Paris several times and have spent many afternoons wandering the fascinating and beautiful Pere Lachaise Cemetery. We found the graves of the great actors Simone Signoret and Yves Montand close to the Columbarium. Their marriage and love story would have made a nice addition to your tour, btw. The great jazz violinist and collaborator with jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli is also buried there. Enjoyed the tour.
I think this is thee best tour you have done yet. I have watched every one of your tours and enjoyed them all. This particular one was so interesting and very informative that it saddened me to see it end. Thank you Arthur, 👏🏻
This is my favorite Hollywood Graveyard video! I was fortunate enough to go on a school trip to Paris in 1989 and a few of us split off to ride The Metro to Pere Lachaise Cemetary to visit Jim Morrison's grave. We found his grave, and passed by Chopin's grave too. It was and remains the most fascinating cemetary I've ever visited. I could have spent days there, just walking around and viewing the ornate and beautiful monuments on most of the graves. It is my dream to go back and spend a few days walking through Pere Lachaise.
I hope you'll get that chance again. If you have family, take them with you. Maybe they might not share your desire to visit Pere Lachaise, but maybe they would be fascinated by some famous people they heard of, including Jim Morrison. What a trip that would be. There's another grave in Paris I want to visit. In Picpus Cemetery, where many victims of the Reign of Terror are laid to rest, is the grave of Gilbert du Motier, otherwise known as the Marquis de Lafayette, the hero of two worlds, who fought in the American Revolution. An American flag is always present over his grave.
As a fan of history, I was left almost speechless by the graves you visited. It gave me chills. The best video you've ever gifted us with. Thank you so much, Arthur.
Ones I would have liked to have seen at Pere Lachaise: Colette (author of Gigi), Simone Signoret (Best Actress Oscar winner for Room at the Top), Eugene Delacoix (French painter), Jacques-Louis David (French painter), Heloise (11th century abbess, noted for her affair with Peter Abelard), Moliere (French playwright), Marcel Proust (French novelist - In Search of Lost Time), Gertrude Stein (American/French author), Alice B. Toklas; At Passy Cemetery - Gabriel Faure (French composer); I would have also liked to have seen a tour of Montparnasse Cemetery where Alfred Dreyfus is is laid to rest, but I understand time constraint only could do so much! Loved the video as always!
Every time i visit Paris there is a “dead” day. Visiting Pere Lachaise and just walk around in silence, paying respect to some of my favorite artists and enjoying the beautiful monuments Pere Lachaise has to offer. Every visit is different and spectacular. Thank you Arthur for showing the world the beauty of Pere Lachaise.
So ... I'm sitting here on a Sunday evening thinking, "Wouldn't it be great if another installment of Hollywood Graveyard was up and running." And there it is. Another enjoyable walk through the past. Many thanks, Arthur. Already looking forward to "seeing you on the next one."
I love the Gericault monument. What a beautiful cemetery though. I really enjoyed seeing the little mausoleums with the Gothic look and it looks like a great place wander and get lost in. Thank you for taking us on a tour.
@Brad James I have no fears in a cemetery and I enjoy wandering thru them and finding stories. That is what I mean by getting lost. Being enamored by the history, stories, architecture, photos and names.
Out of all the Hollywood Graveyard Tours this is indeed my favorite. I have watched it multiple times and learn something new every time. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
I'm a little bit ashamed to say that I even shared some tears (for a bulding!!!) when I heard that Notre-Dame was burning as I had visited Paris and Notre-Dame a few years prior to the fire. So much history!
I have chronic pain from an autoimmune disease. Your videos help me take my mind off the pain. So very comforting. Thank you for such wonderfully made videos.
I‘m REALLY GLAD to see Oscar Wilde’s tomb looking fairly clean now, I guess the glass around it works. The first time I visited there in 1988 they hadn’t started that crap yet. Also I wish you had mentioned that Modigliani is buried with his partner Jeanne Hébuterne. She was a talented painter herself and it is tragic that she killed herself when he died.
You deserve as many of those you honored in this video had gotten in their day, a standing ovation for a brilliant, touching, informative and inspiring opus.
I watch all of your episodes and enjoy them very much. This is my FAVORITE. Pere lachaise is my "bucket list#1" cemetery to visit, and your tour was excellent. Keep up the great work!

Wish I had known more about the cemeteries when I was there, but, alas, I was just 15 and wanted to see the “cool” attractions! Seeing La Tour Eiffel brings back wonderful memories! Hope you enjoyed your time there! Fan from New Jersey!

It was very awesome to see Modigliani's grave ( I turned and looked at my bookshelf of his art books) and I just kept saying "Holy..." They're buried there too!! Plus always great to see Oscar! And you used one of my all time favorite quotes! It's a bucketlist place for me 100%
Chopin, Legrand, Bizet, Dukas, Debussy and Ravel. Wow! Thank you for maintaining such an important inclusion of great composers! Erik Satie is at Cimetière d'Arcueil. Fauré is at Passy Cemetery. Delerue is at Forest Lawn, Glendale and Saint-Saëns is at Montparnasse Cemetery. Extraordinary video!
I loved this episode. So fascinating and intriguing! Makes me think, "ah ha! So that's where we got the music, science, or works from." Like the blind writing system, Braille. I would've never thought it was named after someone, but it makes a lot of sense now. I'm really enjoying this Europe themed famous grave tours! I hope you can go to other parts of the world too sometime, Mr. Dark. After covid of course. Perhaps take a trip to Asia? I'm sure Asia is full of famous graves.

all I can say is merci beaucoup Mr Braille...my eyesight is very bad I'm low visioned and it's nice to know I won't have to give up my books because of the braille system..I'm not quite ready for it yet but nice to know it's available and God bless him..and likewise Mr Dark I throuroughly enjoy listening to your program and you definitely have a nice voice for narration I must say..

Another incredible presentation. Thank you Arthur!
Thank you so much for featuring artists and writers! Love this ♥️
Sheer bliss! Can't get to your channel fast enough when the bell rings. This was a beautiful and fascinating tour. Thank you, Arthur.
We visited there in 2017. Such an amazing cemetery with so many famous people buried there. Wonderful memories 💖 thank you 😊
Having the opportunity to visit Paris on several occasions, one of my favorite sights is indeed the catacombs. A must see for any traveler.
Such respect and respectful treatment of all that you feature. No matter who the were or what they did, you treat them decently.
I thank you for that.
@@brightmacsworld8353 I didn’t create this video. Mr. Arthur Dark did. But funny you should mention that as many people prefer the longer tours.
@@brightmacsworld8353 perhaps turning on subtitles and/or slowing the playback speed slightly might help you process the info more easily. I know I often slow playback a tiny bit when listening to audiobooks. Just a thought - all the best to you!
PARIS is the best so far!! Fascinating!!
I love your stuff brother. Thank you so much for all you do, for preserving the past.
Thank you for the memories of all of these great actors, writers , musicians and everything in between we loved them all they will never be forgotten.
Once again you take me to places I'd never see otherwise. Your research is superb, and images you present are masterful and respectable. Be safe in your travels, and please where a mask when you are among the living!
Yes I agree with your comment and follow the health protocols. Always wearing face mask.
Thank you Arthur! Can't wait for the next tour....always a treat.... filled with history....safe travels 😎
Saw the notice, & dropped everything. Magnificent! Again! Thank you Arthur, you never disappoint. I saw the doors at the forum in the late 60s; so nice that you included Jim Morrison in your tour. & thanks for playing couple of my favs, ‘ Riders on the Storm’ & ‘ People are Strange’. Looking forward to the next one; don’t keep me waiting too long!
Jim Morrison was one of the Top 120 Musicians are passed away at the age of 60. Greetings from Manila, Philippines.
I met Michel LeGrand aboard the QEII in the late 1980s, just after I graduated high school. He was charming and lovely.
OMG. I've been waiting for Père Lachaise here for so long. Looove it.
Thank you for doing Sarah Bernhardt! ❤️❤️
Thank you very much for these videos. Love them, especially the history lessons. 👍
Fantastique cette video! Merci beaucoup😊😊😊😊😊😊🌹🌸🌷
Like a work of art. Well done Arthur.
all I can say is merci beaucoup Mr Braille...my eyesight is very bad I'm low visioned and it's nice to know I won't have to give up my books because of the braille system..I'm not quite ready for it yet but nice to know it's available and God bless him..and likewise Mr Dark I throuroughly enjoy listening to your program and you definitely have a nice voice for narration I must say..
Hello from Iowa always look forward to each video 📸 Love it Glad your traveling it's a gorgeous world out there.Thank u Mr Dark Take care 😎😘
This is truly brilliant. I'm an opera singer and go to Paris often, but I've never been to Bizet's or Debussy's graves. Thank you so much. And from everyone at Munich Opera. Ich liege dich!
