Forest Lawn Memorial Park is a privately owned cemetery in Glendale, California. It is the original and current flagship location of Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries, a chain of six cemeteries and four additional mortuaries in Southern California.
Forest Lawn Memorial Park was founded in 1906 as a not-for-profit cemetery by a group of businessmen from San Francisco. Hubert Eaton and C.B. Sims entered into a sales contract with the cemetery in 1912. Eaton took over its management in 1917. Although Eaton did not start Forest Lawn, he is credited as its "Founder" for his innovations of establishing the "memorial-park plan". He eliminated upright grave markers and brought in works by established artists. He was the first to open a funeral home on dedicated cemetery grounds. He was a firm believer in a joyous life after death.
Convinced that most cemeteries were "unsightly, depressing stoneyards," he pledged to create one that would reflect his optimistic Christian beliefs, "as unlike other cemeteries as sunshine is unlike darkness." He envisioned Forest Lawn as "a great park devoid of misshapen monuments and other signs of earthly death, but filled with towering trees, sweeping lawns, splashing fountains, beautiful statuary, and memorial architecture." A number of plaques stating Eaton's intentions are signed "The Builder." Frederick Llewellyn, Eaton's nephew, became CEO of Forest Lawn in 1966. In 1987 he was succeeded by his son, John Llewellyn, who died in April 2022.
Most of Forest Lawn's burial sections have evocative names, including Eventide, Babyland (for infants, shaped like a heart), Graceland, Inspiration Slope, Slumberland (for children and adolescents), Sweet Memories, Whispering Pines, Vesperland, Borderland (on the edge of the cemetery), and Dawn of Tomorrow.
The big building uphill to the left is the Great Mausoleum. Though park representatives will not disclose the locations of famous grave markers, this building is said to contain the last remains of screen legends such as Elizabeth Taylor, Theda Bara, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Michael Jackson is interred in Holly Terrace. Sam Cooke, Sammy Davis Jr. and many other stars are buried in locked sections of Forest Lawn Glendale. - Развлечения
I visited that cemetery when i visited my mother in California in 2015... we walked into mausoleum and when my mother was pointing out where her childhood sweetheart (Clark Gable) was in wall. The guard came up and asked if we wanted to see it and let us into see.. incredible moment... also that cemetery is so huge
Thank you for having Craig on your channel, what a nice and humble man.
He’s so modest and sweet. What a nice guy! Please thank him for walking with you today. I loved this walk.
Crag’s the type of person I’d enjoy walking and showing me around Forest Lawn. Nice man!
He was really wonderful and so patient.
My husbands grandparents are buried at Forest Lawn. Will R Walling and Effie Bond Walling.
These videos are a great service to those that have passed on. Cemeteries are not sad places but places to celebrate those that came before us and the joy they brought to the world, which motivates the living to continually remember them. I hope someday I’m remembered in such a way.
Well said!
@@SCOTTONTAPE who's Mario Puleo? saw them at the bottom of Gene Raymond
They should be open to the public, there is no reason why their not
Too many people are NOT as respectful as Scott.
@@nancyanne1402 I agree but those graves should be open to the public
I love this cemetery. My grandmother, her sister (my great aunt) and my uncle ( my dad's younger brother) are all buried in Wee Kirk Churchyard side by side. I remember my great aunt's services at the chapel there and how beautiful it was. It is such a peaceful place. I have the invoices from when she bought them in the late 40's. She paid $150 each. My grandfather is at Hollywood Forever in the Abbey of the Psalms. Another amazing place.
I love walking around cemeterys reading the headstones and wondering how they lived and how they died It's so peaceful and thought provoking
That's so true - I love to do the same.
Me as well, Carol.
So do I.
Me… esp ones w pictures
Me too. Very peaceful.
Scott always appreciate your compassion and respect you have when visiting the resting places of those famous and talented we love and admire over the years !!
Love craig❤
Scott, please thank Mr. Craig for us all, because he showed us graves we most likely never would have ever seen. There are probably not enough thanks for him for him, showing all of us the final testing places of all those people. And thanks Scott for the idea.
I enjoy listening and catching
Thank you Scott and Craig! When Craig is with you, it's amazing to see the graves we normally wouldn't get to see. Blessings to you both!
I love this bloke! He’s so helpful and knowledgeable. He’s an unsung hero of our world x
Agree 💯👍...Scott is awesome...genuine, kind, respectful and knowledgeable.
Forest Lawn is so beautiful. I have personally visited Michael's burial place inside of Holly Terrace at the Great Mausoleum. There's a list for family only, and I was invited to visit. 💐💐❤ FL is lovely and a respectful location for anyone if you have to be buried. 😌 Your video is very nice and respectable. I'm glad it popped up on my suggestions.
Does Mike's stone read, "BEAT IT"?? RIP my brother!
Wow, what an amazing tour! Craig is incredibly generous to share his access, knowledge, & time. I hope he truly knows how much he is appreciated and I can just imagine how fascinating it would be to have a conversation with him about the classic Hollywood stars. Deepest condolences to Craig for his wife's passing. The Elizabeth Taylor grave was absolutely stunning. This is something that most of us would never get to see in person, but you & Craig have changed that. Scott, it is very touching the connections you have created on your channel. Take care.
THANK YOU, CRAIG! Being part of the same generation as Craig, I have to say I love these grave tours of the famous people that I grew up watching. These videos are my favorite. Thank you, Scotty this was amazing, to get to see the graves we normally do not get to see. ❤
Thanks to Keymaster Craig again! Sam and Michael in one video, amazing. It’s a shame that everyday people can’t visit their final resting place, but I understand from the families perspective.
I absolutely LOVE Craig!!!! He seems to be a patient, humble & friendly. May you be forever blessed Craig.
I feel humbled to see how many celebrities have simple graves. Thank you for your tours
Scott and Craig, thank you so much. This is the first time I’ve ever seen anybody get Michael’s grave on camera, where there wasn’t some sort of partition or something in front of it. Much appreciated.
What a tour! I will turn 60 shortly and some of these people have been a big part of my life through music and movies! Thank you so much for the chance to see them and their resting place! ❤
Thank you again for another wonderful program. Sadly, Mr Bugliosi must be turning over in his grave with the tragic news that Leslie Van Houten is being released from prison. Her attorney said she is overjoyed. This makes me ill.
Thank you Scott and Craig! I met Clayton Moore about 10 years before he died. He came to the city I live in , for the grand opening of a shopping center . He was dressed as the Lone Ranger and took pictures with my two brothers , my grandpa and myself and he was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met . It was also one of my favorite memories of my Grandpa because he and my grandma lived in New England and only saw us twice a year . My grandpa passed in 1997 .
I admired Clayton Moore for his integrity all through his life. Wish I could have met him. You have some great memories.
Scott and Craig- what a beautiful cemetery. It is very nice to see some actors and actresses from many years ago. Craigs knowledge is simply amazing to hear him talk about them. Scott as usual great videos .Thank you for what you do.
Thank you Sheryl!

♥️
I'm sitting with my 15 year old dog that is getting ready to pass on and your video was a nice little distraction for me. Thank you so much and both you and Craig please stay safe.
I'm so sorry about your fur baby, hugs to you. Mine is 15 as well and I am dreading when that day arrives...😢😔🙏
Worst aspect of owning dogs xx
I'm so sorry. I hope you're doing ok. I've got three of them and absolutely dread losing them. Take care of yourself.
@@alisonwright3199 yes so true but the love and joy they give us during there short lives make the pain of losing them hurt less
@wright3199 Worst aspect of every living animal, we all have to move on! no one gets out ALIVE!!!!!!!!!
Celebrate/enjoy your loved while alive. "Don't go crying at my grave" my dad used to say.
Craig…Thanking you for your kindness and generosity towards Scott in taking him into the very private area’s, which allows us to see 🙌👍🙌. Another, Great Job Scott!
❤ thank you Craig common for your extensive knowledge and modest persona. You certainly are an attribute, thank you so much!
This is an extremely Beautiful Cemetery. I just started watching these Videos as I’ve gotten Older the thought of Cemeteries no longer scare Me. It’s so Peaceful and Majestic. Thank You to Gentlemen for the tour.
Ty Scott and Craig for showing us the final resting place of so many celebrities. As always Scott, you are so respectful and compassionate. 😀💜
So glad Clark Gable and Carol Lombard were laid to rest together. Thankyou for taking us along to see the final resting spots. Especially Michael Jackson
That was beautiful. I never saw the Tracy grave before. His daughter, Susie, died just last year , in May, and I believe she's resting in the grave. Mother and brother passed before her. Clark Gable was married to Kathleen Gable, when he passed. He wanted to rest beside Carole Lombard. Kathleen passed in 83 and shes on the bottom row, to the left of Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. They had a son, who was born in 61. She was expecting him when Clark Gable passed and he never saw his baby boy.
Clark Gable's grandson died a few years ago and is buried n Utah.
The grandson, wasn’t he the “host” so to speak of the show Cheaters?
Thank you Scott. Craig is the perfect tour guide. Like you he is friendly, respectful, compassionate and courteous.
So ironic, I was just watching a documentary on Dorothy Dandridge. I wondered if you ever visited her grave & I was gonna come look but I forgot. She was so beautiful & parts of her life story is so sad. Halle Berry did a great job portraying her.
*sorry for the multiple comments lol*
Thank you Scott and Steve for all the effort in pulling Craig's vast knowledge together for all of us to enjoy ❤ I just love old Hollywood and you guys did a great job! Thank you~ 😊 Joan
Craig is a wealth of knowledge and is so nice to come out there with you and show you & us all of these graves that normally the public wouldn’t see. So I heard you say he has family there so does that mean he has access to all the locked off areas since his family is buried on the grounds?
Thank you both, very much. Spencer Tracy ❣
Really enjoy your videos with Craig, such a sweet knowledgeable man 🥰
He’s the best !
Thank you Craig for your, kindness, even though was just a glimpse we got to see the resting place of our beloved MJ. Thank you with all my heart ❤️
The story of Clark Gable and Carole Lombard makes me sad. Their story is so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing Vincent Bugliosi's grave. He was a great man and helped prosecute Leslie Van Houten and the Manson Family. Yesterday, July 11th, Leslie Van Houten was released from prison. Strange times.
Amen to that
She paid her debt to society. People have done worse and was released in less time
I visited Errol Flynn there in 2004. The greatest swashbuckling, playboy movie star of all time Thanks for the memory Scott......................."in like Flynn".
Never knew Steve priest of the sweet was buried here, love listening to the sweet brings back good memories
I love Jimmy Stewart and for the it’s a wonderful life I watch it every year. I loved him so much. Thank you for showing him to me.
Craig, you were very nice to show Scott and all the viewers places we can only hope to see. Thank you so much.
I just watched the old Perry Mason with Raymond Burr and saw Craig’s aunt on there. She was a beauty and one of my favorites. Thank you Scott and Craig.
Thanks to both Scott and Craig for the special tour.
Thank you for always being so respectful and Craig is an absolute treasure.
Thank you Scott an Greg , i thought was cool his family an has history to this cemetery ...Errol Flynn was a colorful character .the cemetery is beautiful ,it never gets old watching the famous graves . much appreciated woth all these videos knocking them out of the park .
Errol Flynn. My late dads idol, my mother bought my dad Errol’s pipe and shaving kit from his estate and my dad lost it, cried his eyes out…my dad would’ve loved your videos Scott, a HUGE old Hollywood fan as am I because of him ❤
I still enjoy watching "Don Juan" and all the old swashbuckling movies of the silver screen. I would have loved to have owned one of his cup hilt fencing sword props from that movie. Not sure what happens to most of those props. I am only 44, as they were before my time, nevertheless yet "timeless".
@@mallardtheduck406 from what I’ve seen on movie set and sound stage tours they re-use props for other films. So it’s highly possible all his swords still exist somewhere in a prop house! Would love to have that job of cataloging all of it.
I was a kid visiting a ranch at Tombstone when they made an announcement over loud speaker that the Lone Ranger had died and we watched them lower all the flags to half mast. Lovely man
Craig was fantastic in showing us all these new graves and his knowledge base is just never ending! Keep visiting Craig!
How cool is this being able to pay your respects to such amazing greats. I'm in my 60s and wish I could do this. Thank you Scott and Craig.
Thank you and Craig for showing us Jimmy Stewart, Red Skeleton, The Lone Ranger, and Elizabeth Taylor’s grave sites and of course all the other ones as well. I know I will never be able to see their graves myself. So I live vicariously through you Scott. I look forward to each and every video you post. Please don’t think I’m a weirdo but I just love you to death. I’m so thrilled that I found you on YT. You are just the sweetest, censor, and so respectful person out there. Thank you so very much for everything you do for us. Please be safe in all your travels. ✌️🥰♥️💕❤️
Haha I don’t think you’re a weirdo at all! I appreciate you watching Donna!
I met and had a chat with James Stewart back in 1974 when he was over here in the uk ....... got his autograph and some pictures ............. a true gentleman in every respect.
The gentleman Craig that was with you, his aunt, Gloria Talbot, is one of my favorite actresses on so many westerns and shows I watch - I first saw her on some "Rawhide" reruns but, then in so much other stuff, she did such variety in her characters. It was cool to see her nephew, and I hope he knows how much so many of us enjoyed her work!
Scott as always you took us on a great trip, paying respects and with compassion for all that rest there, and with our special guide Craig! He's a wealth of knowledge and a really nice gentleman. His niece was wonderful in a movie i saw, All that Heaven Allows. She played Jane Wyman's daughter. Thank you Scott and Craig, this made my day❤
Scott, see, you outdid yourself again! This video is incredible! So many greats that I remember growing up. Boys Town was one of my favorite movies and can still bring a tear to my eye. I never missed an episode of the Lone Ranger either. Sammy Davis Jr... "The Candy Man" can always make me smile. Gracie Allen and George Burns ... "Oh God" how I loved that man! The Three Stooges ... one of my dad's favorites!! They gave him belly laughs that I will never forget! Today was his birthday, so seeing one of their graves on this day just added to the beautiful the memories of him that I carry always in my heart. Thank you for remembering Roger, the driver in the Paul Walker crash. That was so sad, and his life meant something too. Jimmy Stewart, and amazing actor! And who doesn't love Liz Taylor?! I was just watching one of her interviews a couple of days ago. Red Skelton, I loved that man!! He had a heart of gold too. WC Fields, just WOW!! Thank you, Scott and Craig. This was the most beautiful video ever and brought back so many great memories of growing up watching all of these actors in their heyday. And to end it with the king of them all Michael Jackson was just the icing on the cake. We would never get to see this without the two of you. I said thank you but just a thank you is not enough. You guys are the best! RIP to all the greats who are gone ❤💐
And thank you as always to YOU Flo! Your kindness and generosity and support is so very appreciated
absolutely loved George Burns and Gracie Allen
Craig is a Great guest. Another strong video. Thank you for visiting all of the places you go and sharing it with us. A lot of us don’t have or get the opportunity to travel far from home. It’s absolutely a gift to get to watch you. Your guest and other people visit the places you do.
Thank you, Craig, for the tour. I've been there, but it's been over 5 years now. It is so beautiful and serene.
Greg, so sorry for the loss of your wife. You are a very nice person!
If I owned this beautiful cemetery I would hire Craig to be a private guide ,because he's so knowledgeable unpretentious and all about the cemetery. 🤗🇬🇧
Thanks for having Craig and thank you Craig!
Craig is so cool! love to go on a tour there!
Thanks Scott for showing Sammy Davis, Jr.'s grave site again. It's really fascinated. I love that man he so fascinated I wish he was still here with us today.❤
Being related to the Mastin family I am fortunate enough the be a Golden Key holder and try to visit Sammy and his father and mother and Will Mastin Sr's grave sites. The Davis statue is very beautiful.
@@RedBud315 that so awesome ❤❤❤
My daughter absolutely loves Mary Wells. She was maybe 3 when I showed her My Guy. She learned every word and performed for anyone who would watch. She's determined to be famous, and I can see it. She's special and beautiful
I hope your daughter makes it big!
Thank you for showing us these resting places that aren't usually seen. Thank you to Craig for guiding Scott and us. I'm looking forward to my California trip next year and will definitely visit Forest Lawn in Glendale. Take care. -A follower from Chicagoland 🕊️
I remember TMZ did a feature on the “lip stick bandit” who left the lip prints on Clark Gables memorial. Smh I had to see it is still there.
Craig has such a sweet spirit. Thank you for sharing all those that have gone on to glory final resting place.
What a kind and humble man. You can tell he truly cares for those at rest there. Beautiful video.
Merci beaucoup, Craig.
Thank you Craig and Scott for the respectful tour of the many celebrities who’ve long since passed. And the niche for Craig. Thank you for sharing and caring.
you and faces of the forgottemn are my favorite you tube channels
I love Ron he’s great !
It seems so strange the Spencer Tracy grave and his wife and family where are their bodies under the cement we don't know. Wow very good video done with such class and kindness. Thank you gentlemen. ❤️
Hugh O'Brian (6:40) really needs more of a mention. He was television's first "Wyatt Earp" and started a youth leadership organization that has positively impacted the lives of many young people including myself.
I remember seeing Graig’s aunt in movies as a child , he has the same expression around the mouth as his aunt had, it would be nice for Graig to tell us about his family because he comes from a aunt that did a lot of movies. I hope all these actors are having a great time altogether in the other dimension . ❤Nice video Scott ☺️
I noticed similarities between his face and hers. I even backed up to look again.
I grew up in Glendale and Glendale Forest Lawn is Stunningly Beautiful...the art, the exhibits and of course the grounds are magnificent. I have loved ones buried there as well as Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills...my friends and I used to jump the gates in the mausoleum and go into dark passages that not many visited loved ones any more...it was a blast!!! ps: I went to school with Vincent Bugliosi's daughter...lovely family!! Thank you for this visit!! xo
Great to have a man like this on your channel, added so much!
Scott, I am not sure if you covered this or not but outside of Las Vegas is town of Goodsprings. That is we’re Clark Gable waiting for the search parties to come back from the crash from Carole’s crash. There is indents in the bar were his fingers were and they have a whole room dedicated to them and other famous people. Very cool video as always!
Thank you, Craig, for the tour of those resting at Forest Lawn. Im a huge fan of Burns & Allen, so it was nice to see where they rest & are together again! George & Gracie.
My favorite actor is James Stewart, so it was nice to see where James and Gloria are at rest also.
Thank you, Scott, your appreciated so much!
Is Elizabeth Taylor in the base of the statue? That statue was so fitting for her. Michael Jackson’s resting place is gorgeous with all the stained glass. Thank you Scott, the work you do to show us all these beautiful and memorable people is incredible!! Craig- your knowledge is awesome and thanks for showing us some wonderful resting places!! ❤ you both are awesome!!
I am 72 and remember watching all the old movies. Most of these names are very familiar to me.
That was quite generous of Craig letting you see his niche in the Great Mausoleum, and just "happen " to see Michael's resting place 😉. Liz was always a great friend to Michael, very fitting she is near him. Thank you both for a very educational video, came here from Steve's channel.
Scott, You are the sweetest and kindest person. You are so respectful when doing these vlogs. Safe travels always. ❤😊💖
rich poor we all die one day, the end of this video was great and hope sir can still enjoy life.. ❤️
It’s great getting a tour from Craig. Thank you!
What a treat to have gotten that close to MJ's crypt! Couple years ago, I visited Forest Lawn in Glendale and I accidentally stumbled about the niche of Humphrey Bogart. The section he is interred in is off limits to the general public but the gate was open at the time I was there and I was not aware this area was off limits. There was likely a service earlier that day and the gate wasn't locked right away. A cemetery employee was kind enough to allow me to wonder around for a few minutes and I also got to visit the amazing and beautiful grave of Mary Pickford too. I hope my next visit I get the opportunity to visit other famous graves! Thank you for this!
This was a wonderful treat.... so many great stars that I love! Scott, be sure to thank Craig and of course, THANK YOU, Scott. I know I have said it many times, but the respect that you show is a shining example for us all.
Scott this was a beautiful tour and I'm so glad Craig came along. Thank you for taking me along. 😊

Thank you,Mr Craig for bringing back wonderful memories of movies past. Movies in color are great but black and white classics are true art. Scott bless you for not letting us forget the great actors and actresses that are nolonger with us today.. ❤
Found Scott during a collab checking out the In-Utero Tower House……glad I did.
Personally, I’ve always had an affinity for cemeteries. The word “cemetery” is greek for “sleeping place”. Historically only churches were allowed to bury the dead but with an increase in population and disease they became ran by the municipality. It wasn’t until the mid 1800’s that “rural cemeteries” became the norm. With not much land cemeteries were the closest thing people had to a park and became places for picnics and scenic views.
The evolution of the cemetery has continued to incorporate “memorial parks” which consist mainly of simple markers to identify a loved one and are much simpler in their design.
Thank you Craig and Scott! Craig's expertise was great to see. And, as always, nice job on the video and thanks for taking the time to do this.
Graig - thank you for sharing your time, access and knowledge with us! This cemetery appears so very peaceful. Scott, once again, thank you for taking us along!
