I stopped watching Wentworth when I rediscovered PCBH. Liked the first 3 seasons of Wentworth but felt it lost it a bit after that. This is far better, people will still watch this for decades to come. Thanks for posting it on You Tube.
Wentworth is too violent for me
I jump between the two. There isn't much Wentworth. Only 13 episodes a series for 6 series now I think. I like to find the Easter eggs and see all the re-creations of old characters. They added Marie Winter, Rita Connors, and Sharon Gilmore to this past series of Wentworth. Wentworth's adaptation of Shane(Joan's adopted nephew) is really interesting. He's in series 4.Prisoner I will watch on repeat until I die, but Wentworth is a goldmine for Prisoner Easter eggs only real Prisoner fans will find.
This is more real and less glossy.
@@TomboyVale mate you're so right. Pamela Rabe's Joan Ferguson does bare a striking resemblance to Bev "The Beast" Baker, who was such an underrated character. Nobody tops Glenda Linscott's Rita Connors. Still, the Prisoner Easter eggs of Wentworth are undeniably exciting. Marie Winter tried to escape in a helicopter in Wentworth 😆.

Bev's "manacure" she gave Bobbie is in my top 5 most unsettling Prisoner moments. Bobbie is my favourite. I fair dinkum cried when she was finally released.

Well, Lexie was the daughter of one of the writers, so yes, highly possible that the shit ones (like her) have been given the golden privileged handout!

That's what I thought too. I can't believe that professional TV casters watched the same guy in an audition and thought "That's him. That's our guy." He was either related to one of the producers, or bonking one of them, or perhaps he was blackmailing someone.

If you are complaining about the “offensive” language used in this series, you need to examine which characters are using the terms. They almost exclusively come from “baddies” and other unlikeable characters. Also, when it comes to “stereotypes” people need to take into account the time period this was produced. Yes, “Gay Ray” is camp, flamboyant, and at times over-the-top. A TV series in the ‘80s might feature a gay character, but would almost always be portrayed as a deviant or criminal. What people call a stereotype today was seen as progressive representation then. Context is important.
I've never understood why people watch a show from the 80s and then moan about the language. The 70s and 80s were non-pc. Nothing was taboo. Everyone spoke as they found with no worry about some little petal being upset. Those who are offended by historical free speech needs to ensure they only watch tv shows from the last decade, which is all nicely sanitised in order to spare their feelings.
Reynolds shouldn't have had Murphy and Ferguson in the room when questioning Warren.

I know Myra wasn't exactly spoilt for choice, but I'm sure she could have found someone more appropriate for the setup job than Marlene, who really is nothing more than a gutless wonder. It was obvious she would go to pieces when it came to the crunch because she has no backbone whatsoever. I think the battle between Len and Joan is a great story, its actually nice to see the Freak have some genuine tough competition for once, rather than pushovers like Heather etc.

This must have been around the time the writers were either paid in peanuts, or they've just picked up any willy nilly of the street with their qualification fresh from the box of CornFlakes! The Len and Freak story is the only worthwhile, the rest are boring dribbles. Why do they always need the boring, goody goods who stay way too long and clearly getting paid with a free meal? They could have done so much more with this series, I just don't understand why they even paid half the writers? They should have copped a Bea backhand most of them with the crap they came up with!

The Governor says she's running Wentworth yet more often than not she answers a request with a "I'll have to check with the Department" reply. So, really, they're running it and she's just there to take the flak when it goes wrong.

Anne's bent she saves Joan's job multiple times. She's a hypocrite.
My problem with almost anyone who has tried to take Joan down is the fact that they're all TOO good. I think the person who can realistically do it, will have to be a bit bent themselves. This is one battle if hers that I'm looking forward to. Murphy is a worthy nemesis (though he needs to go eventually). Heather was the worst, but seeing her tear up in her last scene was very satisfying.
