7 months without a doctor in prison, in 2018 in England it's the same amount of time to get to see a doctor in the real world.

Cristina Richart no problems to see a doctor in Aus, same day, or a few days if want to see your regular doc. And it's free, if your on the pension.
What a load of bollocks.
Its same day in England if you're willing to see any GP and up to a week if you want to see your named GP. And it's free for everyone. I don't know where you get your information from, but it's bullshit.

No matter how wrong Davo is with her insane conclusions, she never fails to be consistent with never apologizing when she is proven wrong. In fact, most of the time she doubles down and gets even more angry, handing out even more punishment.

Lizzie complained to Greg about waiting a long 7 months until the prison services hired him as their doctor. Well, the women at Wentworth ended up being without a doctor for at least the last 3 seasons of the show.
Budget cuts are awful things.
SoapsNthings They had Greg as a doctor briefly at the beginning, then a regular sister running the infirmary/sickbay, and outside help with the Wentworth General Hospital throughout the series for major medical issues.
Later on, a male nurse replaced the sister played by Gael Andrews, who later plays Sister Hall, then back to another regular sister again.
Then we had Scott, their second doctor of the series, then we a sister again, leading finally up to Sister Hall who then ran the infirmary/sickbay until the end of the series. 😃
Sister Hall was awful and clearly hated the women. She admits to Colleen Powell she wants to leave but I imagine she stays because there’s bills to pay
Never watched this when it was screened in the uk. Came here out of curiosity after watching the whole eight series's of Wentworth.
Now I find myself hooked on this.

This is my third go around with prisoner and just wait until Joan Ferguson aka the freak shows up and that clueless officer Rodney adams who Joan threatens intimidates and thumps.Maggie Kilpatrick fantastic actress and a bona tide really nice person.Tink 48.

The moment Mrs. Davidson told Clements to keep quiet about Bella I already knew he was going to tell Bea. Still don't understand why he's there.
Bea did trick him into telling her, though, by making it sound as though she already knew. Being a psychologist, he couldn't resist going into detail, in order to stroke his own ego.
Possibly the best episode I have seen. A child killer in the prison . Juicy stuff

You’re only one episode in, but you’re already on this episode? HOW THE HELL DID YOU MANAGE THAT? Because, even at episode 51, there is so much that’s already happened. Bella’s story is less than a duck fart in the ocean!

I think Erica possesses some good governorship skills, but unfortunately she can also act with far too much haste at times and without properly investigating the facts first. No way did she have enough supporting evidence to pin the blame straight onto Karen without first considering other possibilities. She saw one seemingly logical outcome and her mind was made up. I think that Dr Clements willingly used that opportunity to divulge the information to Bea about Bella. He is too clever to allow himself to be so easily manipulated in such a situation, but he is also a creepy swine who lacks professional ethics too.
Erica can be DUMBER than Doreen sometimes.☹

Not moving in with a twenty year old stranger she just met. He could be a serial rapist or a child molester.

Bea Smith, next to the Freak, is one of the most intelligent characters on this show. The way she's fishing Bella for irregularities in her story is masterful. Even cooking up a cock and bull story about sex in the kitchen to throw her off. But Bella was too clever for her and stuck to her story. To the finest detail!
Mr's Davidson, the moment you stop t.v. newspapers and take away radio's off prisoners, they know that new inmate is in for a serious crime, they're not stupid.
But they would have been screwed if they hadn’t censored the newspapers, and hadn’t banned the radios and the television.
They would have had a hell of a job protecting her every minute of the day as well.
So the governor and the officers would have been in a tough situation either way. 😃

Baffled as to a) why Doreen is listed in the credits for this episode, b) why Bea is only on page 2 of he credits and c) how Erica, who portrays herself to be a "progressive", can be so arbitrary in apportioning blame to Karen and Karen alone in terms of who told who about the kid killer.
They were probably saving money by not changing the credits each time.
The regular cast are listed alphabetically, not in order of importance and bit players who pass through are listed at the end.
@derby1884 Erica can be progressive sometimes compared to how the previous governor of Wentworth, Dolly Repton was.
However, Erica can be naive (like Meg, even though they care, understand, and are less strict at times), and sometimes proud.
Erica will stand her ground before or after something has happened even if it is, or it was a good idea, or not. 😃

This was a great series. It's always puzzled me why we got relatively few Australian TV series in the UK, when the Australians are far closer to the Brits culturally than the Americans.

we actually don't get many Australian TV series here in the USA (except maybe on Netflix). we did get "Prisoner Cell Block H" for a few years during the early 1980s -- long enough to make an impression on those of us who did watch it, you could say.
as far as whether Australians are more like the Brits than us Americans, i don't know -- i'm not a sociologist.
I always thought we had a load of Aus TV shows in the UK. Neighbours, Home & Away, Sons & Daughters, The Young Doctors, Blue Heelers, The Flying Doctors, A Country Practice, The Sullivans.

She always instantly jumps to her conclusion, no matter how wrong she is. But, she never apologizes when she is wrong. So, at least she’s consistent.

I used to watch this when I was young and I didn't know 'til now it was Australian and not British! LOL
What an utterly incompetent staff is running this prison. They all jump to the conclusion that Karen leaked the information and then prepare to pounce on her. They don't even bother to make a list of all the people who have come in and out of the prison. "Karen stop lying. How stupid do you think I am"... Well, let me tell ya, Mrs. Davidson, pretty darn stupid.

To think Volume 5 (Purple Writing on case) only goes to 160! Not even half way there lol, but ❤'d this which was always on after 'the watershed' when in bed etc. About half 11pm (ish) when was a nipper & don't recall it repeated either.

It's crazy that Karen was treated in this way because she was blamed- after all, it wouldn't have been long before the inmates would have found out the truth about Bella anyway; they have visitors from they outside world, don't they?!
Also, how come Bea wasn't punished for divulging the 'secret' to the women- only warned if anything was to happen to Bella? Karen was instantly punished for being accused of the same thing, despite the fact that she didn't do it! So poorly written- you gotta laugh. :)
I don't know that it's poorly written. People are irrational and unpredictable.
The Deputy Governor at my old Boarding School had similar traits to Vera Bennett: "If you behave like animalllllllss.........You shall be teerrreatted like animals!!!!! We will not tolerate this behaviour,yay,yay,yay.....

I used to watch this show many years ago. It was nice to find it on RUclips. I was enjoying watching this until I got a message saying - on many of the earlier episodes - that the content was unavailable. Why is that?

After watching the whole series and watching Ann Reynolds, I now realize what a terrible Governor Davo was. She was always quick to blame the prisoners with the flimsiest of evidence, and when she was ultimately ALWAYS proven wrong she never owned up to her mistakes.
Her and Inspector Grace would have made a fabulous love connection.

What Clements did was out of character, to put it mildly. Yes, it's true that in previous episodes he was smug, pompous and self-satisfied, but he wasn't stupid. And then he does the most stupid thing imaginable.
Bea tricked him very effortlessly though. I've been tricked similarly by friends before, lol.
Isn't it about time for Karen Travers to go now? Quite frankly she should've left with Lynn Warner...

I started watching from #287 (I'm sure you know why), but I now find that the earlier episodes are more wittier and entertaining. But I'll eventually work my way back. PCBH is my own, private little escapism, much to the exasperation of my friends. Lol
