they are 2 in 1 but not usable at the same time like planetary or z coaster. Cinema is currently working in another true hybrid different from planetary internals. Let's see if eclat design something with this new system.
Had the WTP hybrid for a year and mainly used it in freecoaster but once or twice used the cassette mode. After a year the hub is wrecked inside and almost impossible to tighten or loosen when removing the back wheel. Poor design and it has trouble engaging and pedalling as well as strange clunks and clicks randomly. If you are thinking of getting one don't, they advertise them as the greatest hub ever but really it isn't designed properly and won't last you very long if you ride hard. Wethepeople make some good products but the Hybrid hub is definitely not one of them
@@ethanw2805 idk man I’ve been riding it since it first came out and I ride pretty hard. I’ve personally never had a problem with it. Yea sometimes it skips but other than that it’s been solid. @@413fps yea but these hubs are meant for people who want to switch back and forth from regular freecoaster and regular cassette. Not for it to feel like a cassette but actually be a freecoaster. I have the clutch and it's good. My first freecoaster was the alienation freecoaster and that was a good hub, especially the fact that you could adjust slack through the non driver side axle which made things easier
The noise of the freewheel added to the intensity. When i started, we had coster brakes. Just roll back and pinch your foot between the frame and the crank once and you will want your coaster brake back. We just took out the internal pads. Freewheel was still the king tho
I just got back into bmx after a 10 year hiatus and gota freecoaster. Hate the slack. Took like 300 tries to fakie lol. My buddy has a "planetary" where theres like no slack. Pretty cool.
I'm really thinking about getting Sleepers complete. Love the look and seems to be a decent spect bike. Is it one that will last away for an intermediate bmx rider?
still running my khe geisha was an absolute head ache but my own mods help home made bushings in the clutch an the cog. i like big gap for flatland tricks. but a proper working fc should have almost instant engagement when riding normal an u should have to back pedal to set a big gap {slack}
Remember tony hawks American wasteland? There were bikes you could ride , they worked like they had freecoasters. In like 2005. I remember telling my homies that it's going to happen nobody believed me. KHE had the first good FC like 3 years later.
The Reloader was actually a good hub for modification because the axle is simple and solid. It was easy to take apart too. The internal drag springs for the clutch mechanism was the major problem with them. However, there is a way to make your own springs that last longer than the stock ones out of easily acquired pieces. You can also replace the slack washer with a bearing/washer combo and it was still halfway decent to crank flip it.
I agree, I changed my casette hub for a freecoaster and I regret my choice. When it's cold outside, the engagement make 3/4 tour sometimes complete tour to be able te pedal. A freecoaster suck !!
I remember when khe released the free coaster and I was so hyped to be able to fakie without backpedaling. I used to mess with my friends and call it a quiet cassette a.d would back pedal it and then boom, fakie without backpedaling. Blew there minds. Then a month later back pedaling on a free coaster and my hub self destructed. I vowed to never touch a free coaster again until I bought a back wheel for my bike and got a free coaster without realizing. So I was basically forced to ride it and now I can't ride cassette. I feel off balance when trying to fakie. I can't half cab over anything. The pedal pressure messes me up now that I learned to ride without it and without back pedaling
i hate that so many of the good bmx completes only come with freecoasters. I rode a coaster over 10 years ago and it was pretty cool, but I like pedalling back in a fakie. So I wanted a nice complete (100% chromo, dbl walled rims, etc) but with a cassette. I still have my coaster wheel somewhere.
Fuck free coasters but the first one that had yet to break 3 years later is the revolution. I’ve busted so many brand new coasters with in a couple months and for the prices it hurts.
