Bogwandi he never said he tried it for one ride... said once loll same for me i tried once... few weeks and hated it been riding casssette since the 90's
I think the only difference in opinion is that cassettes will blow out driver bearings. if you have one with bearings that is. I made a bushing for my primo pro cassette and it's still going strong after 12 years. I do routine maintenance ie grease oil it. other than bearings going out on occasion they last forever. just know that sealed bearings can be lubed by removing the seals and flushing them and repackaging them with grease. good video btw
@@kingpanda5974 That's not true. I got a Sunday Soundwave and it has plenty of slack. I hadn't ridden a bmx in a very long time. First time I rode my Soundwave, I was like "what the hell is this". Lol
Ive ridden both for a long time and I agree with this video 100 percent. I just switched back to a cassette last week and I love it. Bike feels more balanced and is a lot lighter. It runs perfect and smooth now. Coasters are way fun but they come with great responsibility and I am lazy and i dont like working on my bike unelss its putting on new parts.
Thanks for the video, just came across this freecoaster business. wasn't exactly sure what it was until watching your video. just curious how tall you are? I'm 6'1" thinking about getting a freestyle bmx bicycle not sure I'd fit on one though... I have a Redline cruiser for racing and an SE draft for commuting. Any thoughts on something that might fit me for trying some grinding and such?
I got used to mine in like 4 hours, once you find the perfect amount of slack and you start to disengage out of habit its overall pretty quick, my friend on the other hand took like a week and a half to get used to his though, so I guess it all depends on the person.
I recently bought a Brandon begin 1 free coaster complete and I can spin the cranks really well I have loosens the chin already and it just doesn't spin very well is there a way tho fix this?
Don't know anything about BMX stuff at the start of this video short of a 3 piece crank lol still don't know shit about BMX stuff short of a 3 piece crank 😂
i got a Kink switch the other day and came with a freecaoster and wtf the slack was so bad, 1/3 a turn. they never mailed me the washers to adjust so waiting on those to play around with slack but i think im going back to cassette
Same with this comment not hate just a joke Ryan “those numbers aren’t close to being true but there pretty close” Me “y r u saying that it’s not close then u say it’s pretty close huh?”
But you say that a coaster makes you more unbalanced, then probably a minute later you say a coaster goes backwards faster and it keeps your balance better.
Another point, coasters make all ur tricks harder, you dont realize how much the pedal pressure helps until you try a simple trick and it's harder but it'll open up alot of fakie tricks for you to do
I've been planning on switching for a while now, and I still want to switch even more after watching this video (just fyi, I can fakie on a coaster as well as I can on a cassette, until I run out of speed). Keep up the good work!
hey, love your videos, my friend and I are most likely going to onadaga lake skatepark if u wanted to come teach us a little bit, we are new to it and trying to learn
On my Bmx Bike I Ride a Freecoaster as well They are Fun And Right Now I have a Cinema Fx2 freecoaster RHD Its Clean And It Rides smooth havent had a Problem with it yet, But so Far I'm Liking the Freecoaster its Solid Right Now🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🤙🏼
I wanna start doing faking manuals and backlashes cause i love those tricks. And my dad want me to start doing devon smillie tricks but i have a cassset. What should i do?
I know I’m a little late but maybe it should be broken down too purpose. I look at it more like, in racing I probably want immediate pedal power and less weight. Street flatland and park is different less speed so weight isn’t as much a concern and the flexibility of the freewheel give you more maneuverability.
Any one worried about the slack it’s fine I got used to it in about 30 mins the biggest difference is weight I had a coaster but now I ride cassette because it is waaaaaaayyyy waaaaaaayyy lighter
Im a racer and engagement is everything but do you think you have more balanced pedaling backwords and engaging right away plz respon love the vids by the way
Needle Media thanks for responding i ride a 2014 pk ripper 22in top tube with snm perfect ten bars profile 185mm cranks and crupi rhythm 20 1.75 wheel set im a guy by the way wrong acount but yea love gotta love SE Racing
Can u reply or make a vid on non integrated difference. I have a non and I rawed out my frame and Idk why but my headset and stem are screw like loose kinda
I have a freecoaster but it doesn't engage alot and has a ton of slavk like more than regular sometimes like 2 full pedal rotations before it catches why is this?
hahaha yep listen to him guys grease your free coaster every month i have had mine for a year now and it doesn't engage for a half or full crank it slips now
i think my casset turned trans... I was riding today and all the sudden it had a bunch of slack idk why
Tried a freecoaster once and hated it, cassette for life. Nice video man
once? a freecoaster takes time to get used to, just once isn't really a fair enough amount of time to judge it for the rest of your life
amen
Bogwandi he never said he tried it for one ride... said once loll same for me i tried once... few weeks and hated it been riding casssette since the 90's
I've been riding a freecoaster for a couple days ya there is more pros for a cassette but if you hub is going to be as quiet as a coaster
Bogwandi some people have ptsd with freecoasters I tried my friends and I smacked my knee so hard I couldn’t ride for two or three days
I think the only difference in opinion is that cassettes will blow out driver bearings. if you have one with bearings that is. I dont evan realise that there is slack on my free coaster
Rodwell Media same
I rarely grease my coaster I have ran a coaster for the past 6 years trust me you don't need to grease them that much
What freecoaster?
"Congratulations, soon it will break" lol. So you the dude or is he the dude?
@@Gameoflifeplayhard I ran 2 coasters for over 5 years no grease this guys not the smartest
Sorry I’m literally seven years late lol but do they break as much as he says they do?
@@frenziedsum1179 not at all lol
Im just gonna stick with a cassette. I hate hitting my knee on the stem.
Get a good FreeCoaster and there is basically no SLACK
Same i did that a few time my first tome trying freecoaster but i got it down
Not even a good coaster just an adjustable one
@@kingpanda5974 That's not true. I got a Sunday Soundwave and it has plenty of slack. I hadn't ridden a bmx in a very long time. First time I rode my Soundwave, I was like "what the hell is this". Lol

I've been watching for about 2-3 weeks and I am loving this channel! Btw what is the song on the outro it sounds dope.
I love your videos keep making them and doing what you love thanks for keeping me entertained
Great breakdown! Much appreciated.
whats your favorite fakie trick with a freecoaster

loving the bike bro keep it up living the channel
how long does it take to get used to a freecoaster? loving the videos keep up the great content.
Corbin Pickel It took me 1 week and then i was a pro at it

How about z coaster
Got a coaster like 6 weeks ago and i'm really happy about it.
I recently bought a Brandon begin 1 free coaster complete and I can spin the cranks really well I have loosens the chin already and it just doesn't spin very well is there a way tho fix this?
Alot of coasters are hard to kickflip because of the clutch system, I'd recommend the merrit finaldrive coaster Cuz they kickflip like butter
My friends bitch about the slack it's not that bad
I keep it simple and cheap with a cassete
at like 730 the shadow looks like chucky the doll
😂😂😂
Great commentary bro, I like your opinions and statements in this video, a new sub and a thumbs up to you :)
Best BMX you tuber in my opinion ryan!❤️
Btw this is not a hate comment it’s just a little joke so I apologize if I offend you Ryan
Ryan “sluggish and MORE HARDER”

Lol you dont move your feet when just rolling forward either 😅
or manual
Haha ik this is stupid but I want a free coaster so I can do 180s nicer but im in love with the sound the cassette makes

ItsJacob do u have diabetes

hey, love your videos, my friend and I are most likely going to onadaga lake skatepark if u wanted to come teach us a little bit, we are new to it and trying to learn
So basically free coasters are double the money twice the hassle and dangerous lmao yeah sounds legit af
Good thing my 1986 Hutch exel came from factory with a free coaster
whats price of bmx freecoasters and bmx with cassette
if u look at the prices from sunday bikes than a freecoaster bike starts at 479$ to 1000$ and a cassette bike like 400$ to 500$
I more like cassette hubs because it's load
which is better to buy primo freemix or colony freecoaster hub
Why?
I really like your videos. I have tried both and like cassette more, just the way its always been for me. Subscribed!
Just found your channel and subscribed.
Hory shit , 9:00 I skip through the video,, best part of the video.. lol
im newbie in bmx, can you gift me bmx.. btw nice video
If u think cassette is better than why do u use a free coaster
So like I just got into bmx and I'm using my dad's bmx how do I know which one I have
Late, but if you have to peddle backwards when you 180, it's a cassette
i dont know what you mean but i need help with my bike when i pedal back it brakes and i dont want it to brake
Ghxhc Vhcjvuc do u ride freecoaster or cassette
Ghxhc Vhcjvuc your bike is shit
Ghxhc Vhcjvuc your riding a coaster

just got my coaster and it feels really wierd, ive been with a casette for 4 years and not is really different
Did you learn it?
@@Sunss yea i even learned fakie
Are cassettes with more point of engagement (like a premium stinger) better then a normal cassete
donky donk theres is less pedal slack and they are louder most of the times(no advantage in riding but sounds better) so i would say yes
Hey Ryan What about a Z-Coaster
Thanks Ryan
Also Great Job On videos and love your videos. Keep Going.
I miss you foo
No need to miss me anymore i’m back
why are Coaster more expensive than Casset And do coasters Break faster ??

What happens when u peddle back on a freecoaster when ur in a fakie
nothing
My prediction is ur channel will blow up btw my freecoaster broke so I got a profile z coaster for my Wethepeople bike
So I'm getting a free coaster for 50 brand new on offer up it's by haro and idk what the name of it is so I'm trying to find the name
Damnit with these questions! I live in canada so its 3ride not danscomp/albes. I still live in canada so its tim hortons not dunkins
And also I like your videos keep it up
Helli i have a casset but its different because my paws are inside the hub and the grits are behind the sprocket what tipe of a hub do i have
Yip I’m saving for a free coster hud for my bmx cause I’m good at fakies and don’t like to pedal back wards
The z coaster is amazing I treat that thing like gold
Good video im still stuck on what to get because I ride my bike 5 miles each way to work and not sure how a coaster will hold up
You are super confused.
Just switched back to casset , probably will switch back in 2018
If the cassete doesn't make that clicking noise so loud?Is this a problem?
I’m thinking of getting a free coaster just not to sure about the slack
My free coaster has lasted me for a 100 years
Any one worried about the slack it’s fine I got used to it in about 30 mins the biggest difference is weight I had a coaster but now I ride cassette because it is waaaaaaayyyy waaaaaaayyy lighter
could I just WD40 my free coaster instead of greasing constantly
Sunday, not sure what time yet but I will find out
"10 minutes of your guys's time" or alternately 10 minutes of your time
Do a winter sport like skiing or snowboarding that's what I do
I once use a coaster, i modify it to be a freecoaster,
Now im in hospital with a broken leg
Dang... i hated downhill
in malaysia, the money is as hard to earn yours country. but in malaysia cassette to freecoaster the price is RM500-RM850
ive rode cassettes all my life and i want to try a coaster but i just have never got around to it maybe next riding season

True.
is it bad
Is there a difference between z coaster free coaster? Also I feel like free coasters are more for street riders and park riders ride cassettes more.
I'm about to get my first real bmx bike from my friend and it has a free coster, do u think that's OK to learn on?
strange tamer for sure
Cassette
#WithThatBeingSaid aha love the videos recently man, but that phrase makes me laugh every time you say it

Well my freecoaster "broke" the same way, but when I opened it to have a look it was still very well greased.
yeah true i don't know if that problem is because you don't grese it
thanks bud now i now the differense(cassette4life)
You just earned a new sybscriber and it's me!! Good work, keep it up!
he said it's hard to break a cassette. I broke one by putting a 36 tooth sprocket in the front and a 9 tooth driver/cassette in the back
Haro BMX that's not a good gear ratio
Emanuel Morales yeah after that I changed the front sprocket to a 28 tooth sprocket
Haro BMX dum as hell no wonder you broke it lol
Trebor Cash I didn't know any better.
25/9 is what I run
i cant awnser the qustion anout dunkin dounots cuz im canadaian
