I came here, liked and commented because Phu was crying about views in the video after this. I knew all of this info, but still watched. I hope you appreciate this Phu.

You’re absolutely amazing bro very informative. I love the video. I love how you teach us about a cassette and a free coaster and how you gave us an example in the beginning of the video 🚲but I have a cassette and I was I was riding I tried peddling, I thought my chain came off the back sprocket, but it wasn’t. It was fully on the back and the front but it wasn’t going nowhere and I lookedat my hub and it was all opened, and I am assuming some of the Ball bearings went missing so what do I do now?
In the 1970s there hubs where if you peddled back you would get rear brakes, I cant remember what the cranks would do if you went backwards, we didn't have BMX bikes we jumped our chopper bikes, I got a bmx bike when they came out and got tuffs when they came out, happy days, we went clean across the city on our BMX bikes, I got into motorbikes trucks trades mechanics building with all the material complexity, the BMX bikes were good reliable strong bikes, in retrospect I should have got more into BMX biking as a hobby
Had a planetary freecoaster, it kept engaging unexpectedly, even on simple things like rolling backwards on a bank. Odyssey Clutch V2 has been 100% reliable so far, has nit engaged unexpectedly even once.
Taper bearings handle radial loads better vs needle. Needle bearings don't handle side loading. Taper bearing is the same style they have used for car and truck wheel aka hub bearings for years, although new cars today use sealed bearings
Been dealing with thees hubs since khe dropped the geisha in coffe brown 48 holes. It works due to friction on the clutch. Right now im editing i can fix mine with a vans lol. An as for using the cog to center the axle cudos i doing that for years 😅 my shit hella old
@@kevs240sx I figured it out and you just have to add them. But Its really easy to get used to the slack. My new bike has nearly a quarter slack and I don't notice it that much.
there are bikes with belt drive but not a bmx edit: nvm apparently even bmx has it but you need a bigger pulley since a belt cant wrap around a pulley the size of a 9t driver
I really HATE that neddle bearing, i have that freecoaster for 1 year, 1 day i hear my bearing explode and was that bearing. I trash that hub, you never gonna find a replacement bearing. I bought a stranger LHD and throw the RHD clutch and driver

phu’s and alfs passion for bmx blows me away, thankful for the videos lads🔥
Can you do the newer freecoaster for some reason my clutch can’t some out of the hub
Who’s part of the early Phu Gang
New Phu and loving it
thank you for showing us the tear down
Man phu you are the man! Hope you keep doing stuff like this. You are great keep it up.

Thank you just got into fixing bmxs this has helped a lot
Great content 👍👍😊I'm watching from Australia hope the shop is making good business bcuz looking like a hardcore BMX establishment
I wanted to see if you guys can do a review on the Skapegoat/ 90 East freecoaster hub if that is possible.
Nice, now do a cassette tear down and a freewheel tear down too 🤞
There's nothing inside a cassette, a few steel pawls and springs. A coaster is a much more complex beast.
Another video please on the difference between a cassette hub and a free coaster. Thanks
Dude I’m liked it! 👍👍👍
Great amazing video!! This helped me so much! Thankyou phu and alf!:)

needle bearings have a bigger contact surface with the racers so they have a higher load capacity and thinner for space issues,
7:04 if you don’t like the slack of a traditional free coaster try a BSD revolution hub or a 90east hub or a alienation Venus hub 👍🚲💨

@@AmazingChinaToday What I didn’t like about the Odyssey clutch the needle bearing in the driver crashes if you grind on the driver side 👎
@@pauljames1978 I don't do grinds, mainly flatland, so not an issue for me, but maybe there is a hub guard out there for the driver?
Mine v2 is not and parts are hard to find
i have a freehub on my throne the goon xl. is there any pawls i can change out for more engagement? what can i do for higher engagement if not?
I love this clip 🎉🎉🎉
I’m seeking advice on free coasters I’ve bought a new one but it sticks when I stop peddling what could it be?
What grease brand do you recommend
Thanks
Can I get a link to where I can get that dope shirt?
I was on cassette through high school now I’m a freecoaster guy I couldnt stand cassette but I love coasters even tho there harder build tho

what happened to "catsette" lol , good video guys
Profile z coaster next 🇵🇭🔥❤️
Bruh…where can I cop that fresh tee Phu has? I’m pretty sure I got one of the first runs y’all did and I’d definitely cop that license plate one
So, where do you get the replacement spring? Looks like very specific and probably hard to find an exact match in a hardware store…
I love your epic shirt you should sell those.
Can you purchase parts from this shop, or do I have to ship my GT Vertigo for them to repair or replace parts?
Que chevre Alfredo !! gracias por ls notas de BMX .

I got the salt plus trapez... it can be taken apart and changed to a cassette too I prefer it in freecoast to cassette so not touched it.
And where do I get those little ball spring things man ? My free coasters got that same problem
That side tapered bearing you can pack those with grease like you do car hub bearings, honestly I'd rather have too much than not enough...
I honestly think a free coaster better for most tricks. You can do backwards tricks with the paw springs.
my cranks are starting to go back when im doing fakies on my coaster, how can i fix ?
I need one of those I have ball bearings they keep breaking
you gotta get the emperor mustache
Do a video on a planetary Freecoaster, it’s a Freecoaster with no slack like the colony swarm or bad revolution
He did a planetary video a few months ago.
@@AmazingChinaToday oh ok
Flat landers started the free coaster and switched to the caassettet.
So if I would like to have less slack I just put more washers in ?
That's what I wanna know as well. I imagine that if you can find varying thicknesses of washers, then with a little tweaking you can get lesser slack
@@kevs240sx I figured it out and you just have to add them. But Its really easy to get used to the slack. My new bike has nearly a quarter slack and I don't notice it that much.
Can I use a belt instead of a chain

Please do a demo
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
when i peddle forwards nothing happens but wen i peddle backwards my bike goes forward and my chain jumps how do i fix that
Phu
Man, I made "freecoasters" in the early 80's.
Can you leave the reaction arm off when converting a coaster brake hub into a free coaster?
@@mplsmark222 yes, you won't need it.
I’m not sure if my crescent wrench goes to 24mm?
Buy a bigger crescent wrench. It's good to have all sizes
#Cassettegang
I can see the stress in phu's face when he says cassette. So traumatized.
It's called a Conical washer.
All that you guys just showed is too much... I'm glad I ride a regular freewheel sprocket! I never had any issues lol
I don't like free coasters I've rode both I don't like the slack on it either

And the part is spring balls. Lol 1 spring 2 balls lmao
Fixed gear + bmx
Whaa hoooo a video of Alf and phuuu slack in cassettes suck
Phu look like he was eating out a ball of mud
i hate my freecoaster cuz its silent😒
