Today we're flying upside down! At EAA AirVenture 2023, I had the opportunity to fly with airshow pilot, aerobatic champion and Red Bull air racer @mikegoulian in an Extra 330LX. We took off out of Oshkosh and had some fun with lazy eights, rolls, loops, and a hammerhead! Thank you so much to Mike for having me along and for being a fantastic instructor!

I've done aerobatic flights in AT-6/SNJs (WW2 advanced trainers), and I will readily admit I was a bit 'green-in-the-gills' after the first few negative G maneuvers..

The most fun and terror was doing aerobatics + and- Gs. In an OPEN COCKPIT biplane. Looking up at the ground with only my harness keeping me in was terror!
Michael is such a genuine guy. Have had the opportunity to meet up with him and his staff over at the Whelen booth. Even became friends with Emily over the years when she was still on Michael's team.
I'm not a pilot, but I'm fascinated by avation in general. I really enjoy watching you fly, and it's so cool to see you're having this opportunity at OSHKOSH. I look forward to your next video.

Hello Stevie I hope all is ok, I love your channel and always excited to see new videos but nothing in a while! I won the cerebral palsy lotto when I was born, and was gifted spastic/athetoid quadriplegic cerebral palsy, which is a fancy way of saying non-verbal and stuck in a custom-made wheelchair for life. I love aviation and watch everything I can but ironically have never flown except for controlling MS Flight Sim with a special adapter. I crashed a lot LOL (pilots should probably not have CP). I know if things had worked out differently for me I'd probably be a pilot, and would have preferred going into military training if I could have, but flight sim is the closest I have gotten. I am commenting to say I hope u will post more ongoing and I hope u are okay. You are beautiful, kind, and have a very nice personality, u are a fun pilot to watch and I have learned a lot from your channel. Thank u!

Great video. You did great Stevie! Mike gave you the same intro to Extra flying that I give in mine. The Extra is a total blast to fly and it's even better when you get to fly with Mike Goulian!
I had a similar experience in 1975; flew to Oshkosh in a 1947 Luscombe and got an aerobatic flight in a new Great Lakes 2T-1A with company demo pilot Dwain Trenton (he also did an amazing routine during the afternoon airshow). Unforgettable. Nice job with the Lazy 8's!

Really enjoyed the video. Mike is always a joy to watch-one of my favorite performers. You;re right about the A30s. I’ve used the A20s for years thinking it couldn’t get any better. Then I got the A30 and they are really amazing.

Mike is seriously one of the greatest human beings- I remember first meeting him at an airshow in MA way back in probably the late 90s when he was flying for Toyota and he was the only solo pilot at that airshow to take the time to talk with me, explain something I asked about his plane and sign a picture. forever a fan =)

Mike is great guy and a helava aerobatic pilot. We have a mutual friend and I've hung out with him a few times practicing acro and I've flown an Extra 300. It is very sensitive. You think where you want to go and it goes. There is nothing like it.

Very cool! Brings back memories for me, I used to take aerobatic lessons in Mike's Extra 300L at Brookhaven Airport on Long Island. Actually "commuted" there in a flying club Debonair from Westchester county airport. Acro is such a blast and the Extra 300 is an amazing machine, really feels like telepathy how sensitive the controls are.

So cool seeing the aerobatics from the different camera angles. I’ve been doing aero in my flight school the last few weeks and it’s SO FUN! Side note, my wife got me the overhead break hoodie for Christmas… favorite present. Keep up the good work
