Funny.. right back in a circle to all the manufacturers going back to the best alignment for internal combustion engines, the legendary naturally balanced in-line six!

I’ve heard a lot of people saying that this car isn’t special and that they’d go for a Telluride, Palisade or Pilot over this. The CX-90 has the first Japanese-made inline 6 in 20 years, since the RB and 2JZ I think. 24 mpg city and 28 mpg highway on AWD standard thanks to it being a mild hybrid. It’s gonna be pricey despite starting at $40k USD, but if you can get over that, and go for the lower trims it’s a great SUV for enthusiasts imo. I just hope it doesn’t disappoint when I drive one. Although it seems to everyone in the comments section that this car only exists to be an engine demo lol, nothing but I6 sedan talk.
What He explained was brake vectoring 😅. Kinematic posture control uses the inside rear brake to add a negligible amount of brake torque to that wheel, using the anti-dive suspension geometry to pull that corner down. Basically, kind of like an active sway/anti roll bar. Honestly, it's impressive how Mazda can do some fine control with GVC and KPC.
3:18 That big piece of plastic can be removed with the latches on either side. It doesn't just come off like most other engine covers, it actually opens up like another hood and can be suspended from the real hood with a strap.
Yeah, it’s called a model year. It basically marks how long this particular model is going to be produced before any update comes out whether that be new features, facelift or a new model altogether.
Now I REALLY want a new RWD Mazda6 with this powertrain...imagine this engine powering a sport sedan with a lower center of gravity and almost 1000 pounds lighter (if the weight difference between the CX-9 and Mazda6 was any indication)... 🤤
The interior is amazing and so is the exterior styling. Love Mazda designs, but what I've been hearing about the new CX-90 is that it also has a small electric motor for stop- start driving in the city. So when you pull up at a stop light, it shuts off the engine and then the electric motor kicks in when you get the green light but it's sluggish until the inline 6 is started again and the electric motor hand over to the inline 6.

Slower gear changes than CX9 6AT as well. Hopefully Mazda could hear about this and improve it.
I imagine that the shifter layout would be particularly useful in tight parking situations where you're switching between drive and reverse multiple times.
