Today is Day 27 of our 30 day, whole food plant based challenge!
"Put Your Veggies Where Your Mouth Is!"
We want to improve our overall health and what better way to do that than to challenge ourselves to eat the very best foods for our bodies for 30 days strait! Come along with us as we share our journey and the results with daily vlogs!
The rules:
-Only Whole Food Plant Based Options
-No Oil
-No Refined Sugar
-No Heavily Processed Foods
-Drink at least 1 gallon of water per day
-At least a 15 minute intentional walk
-No eating after 8pm

Lol! I'm glad you're enjoying our shenanigans. 😁 Mike's weight is just falling right off of him because he has been doing it longer. I think my progress will increase a lot in a few months, once my body believes I'm serious. 🤣

Our family will be doing all plant based no oil from Aug 1-15th! We are used to it because we do it several times a year (religious reasons) but it still gets hard at the beginning each time lol. I also wanted to tell you about Krocks in the Kitchen. They are plant based and just put out a meat loaf replacement recipe that looks so good. They have lots of recipes. Check them out, they may have some you guys can try. :)
That's great! There were a few things that I had to get creative with to cook oil free but for the most part I haven't missed it! I will definitely check them out! Thank you!
Ya'all are doing absolutely awesome! And oil is most definitely not good for you. I do use it in some cases, veeeery mildly. I discovered that too from the wonderful plant based doctors 🖤
I also think it's funny that as kids everyone says " eat your veggies, eat your veggies" then when you go plant based it's " don't eat all those veggies"
Your guys complexion is absolutely glowing too & I can absolutely see the weight loss too!
Lol, I know, nobody was worried when I was eating fast food. 🤣
It's happening slowly but surely! Mike's weight is falling off because he has been doing this longer! He's doing really well. 😊 I'm looking forward to getting to that point but I think it's going to take a few months.

@@littlefootranch4410 Just a tiny bit, I have to be really careful. My body isn't "quiet" when I overdo it, so I can't ignore it. Lol! It makes it really hard for me to push myself. 😅

During one of Dr. Goldner’s Q&A’s she talked about oil and said it had to do with the ratio of omega six to omega-3. I was glad she addressed this because I was wondering why she recommended Flaxseed oil for people who can’t tolerate flaxseed and Chia seeds. Also, check out Javant’s RUclips channel called healthy vegan eating. It’s fantastic! No oil too.
Dr. Esselstyn also referenced the damage to endothelial cells, so I've heard enough to be convinced that it's not good for me. Lol 😆

The other tricky thing with oils is that there's been shady business happenings with it being other oils in the bottles of "healthier" ones. Olive oil came out a while ago and I've read the same with avocado oil, which has gained a lot of traction. In general, it's an odd concept, as it's a concentrated extract of foods.
Exactly! I've seen so many ads lately for "healthy" oil and I can't figure out how it's even allowed! 😅 Like, even if one is less damaging than another, it's still damaging!

Only discovered you guys this morning and have been binging your 30 day challenge..RUclips recommended your test results vid first. This is the first vid im commenting on as i usually watch via my tv. But im really enjoying your style and sense of humour😂😂. The reason i chose this one to comment on is to say how wholeheartedly i agree with Mike re motivation.....i was wfpb about 7 years ago after i was diagnosed with bladder cancer....it was so easy then. Seven years on it is definitely more of a struggle....especially as in the time between the pb vegan processed stuff has become extremely easy to get hold of here in the UK...but i will get there again!

We too have been eating mostly plant based for quite some time but it was those easy to grab processed goodies that kept slipping into our diet that I knew needed to go! I'm trying to keep something made and ready to go in our fridge and that really seems to be helping us stick to it! If we can do it, anyone can do it, I really believe that! Sending lots of positivity you way as you switch back to WFPB and to your continued good health! 💕
Which plant based doctor are you following? Gregor, Esselstyn, McDougall? I’ve been mostly plant based for 5 years, and I’m really enjoying this series of videos!!
We're primarily following Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. Goldner. Mike has heart disease and I have autoimmune disease so it made sense to follow the two doctors that specialize in those conditions. 😊 I've read a ton of books though and have watched videos from everyone you mentioned, plus some! I feel like everyone has something to offer, so I keep an open mind and listen to all of them even though there is sometimes contradictory information. We've had to make a few alterations based on my husband's food sensitivities but otherwise they have been the best protocols for us. 😊💕 Thank you so much! We really appreciate you following along on our journey!
Its the sugar I find hardest to give up.
It was tough initially because I grt a sweet tooth sometimes but we haven't deprived ourselves of fruit and that has really helped. Plus I make a sugar free, oil free cookie!

And oil is like 120 calories 1 table spoon
Exactly! I would much rather eat 120 calories worth of kale. That's a lot of salad, lol. 😆🥬💕
