    I remember when the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan. There was a lot of criticism of them by the main stream media. Everything from their hair to their music. They went on to set trends in everything and outsell every musician and group on the planet. I was immediately a Beatles fan and still am 60 years later. The Cybertruck is the same thing. I'm 74, and I sense a "Beatles" or the auto industry The press will eat their words.

      @@jamesbuckingham8073 I was a teacher. I bought an iPod and had a lot of music on it. I showed it to some kids and they thought their devices were better. I think they downloaded free music from Napster or something. Well all those pirate sites were put out of business and iPods and iPhones took over.

I'm sure there will be a mad rush initially for those who've been waiting for this truck, but let's see how it does the second year, when those who've been waiting are owners. If this thing succeeds it will verify that Americans have little/no design taste. A kindergarten child could have designed this.

    Spot on for you and Katty. I'm one of those non Truck buyers who pre-ordered a Cybertruck. I love Trucks but based on priorities and need I still don't need one. But now, It's time. But I don't want a regular truck, I want a CyberTruck.

    The MSM will always find something negative to say about all Tesla products. Here's one I'm sure they'll get around to... with the frunk open: "Look at those two sharp points on either end that a person could bang their head into!!!" I say, "Look at how perfect the frunk is for sitting in it with an awning over-head to keep rain off you when "frunk-gating". To which the detractors will reply, "But there is a slight lip!!!" So, get a cushion tall enough to compensate for the lip. Sheesh! The world is full of doom and gloomers.

      Hi, some seam deliberately to be sticking their heads in the sand and not admitting what it will do and be for Tesla and the wider society. The same can be said for electric cars and you can see how that is playing out for those that follow this route.

      @@rlsedition it is very heartening to see people getting excited about a design that does not look like anything they have seen before. And no wonder the legacy automakers are saying this truck will not appeal to the "traditional" truck buyers and the tradesmen and only some yuppies will buy them. I think they are fooling themselves. Not to talk about the 2 million pre-orders, when the "traditional" truck buyers actually experience this vehicle they will all dump their old coal burners

      @@balaji-kartha BS. Tesla has created the most polarizing design in the automotive world. There's a good reason we haven't seen anything like it before - it's an afront to good taste. It won't appeal to traditional truck buyers because it won't do anything the traditional trucks won't do. The only reason to embrace the Cybertruck is as a Musk fan-boy or a "Climate Change" cultist (and it is a cult).

    How is something with a flat windshield even allowed on the road? Fierce glare hazard when the sun hits it at the wrong angle.
    They'll sell quite a few because most people who buy 1/2T pickups don't use them as trucks anyway.

      Sun glares of office building windows too. But you are correct. Most half ton owners just like driving trucks more than they have a need. I am in that camp. Drove a truck for work for years and like a truck. Don't need a truck, can't afford to gas a truck so don't have one but like driving one.

    The Great thing about electric motors is you can run'em independently for specific operations, say, for instance, analyzing a crash/slide in real-time and sacrificing the tires if needed. Like aluminum "hitting" a magnet.

    This is so entertaining to hear all the negative hype. You know man will never fly, uh or land on the moon, uh or have portable computers, uh a portable telephone? Ever seen what stainless steel construction looks like in a commercial kitchen, or operating room, or laboratory? Stainless is strong and durable and can be worked into quality products. Let TESLA figure it out and be awed.

    It will take some time to work out issues like other new Tesla products. Eventually it should be a decent product. I saw a guy rolling coal today, ghastly. Tesla is taking us in the right direction.

    7:02 a pedestrian will come of worse in a collision with any vehicle. Crumple zones are to protect the occupants of the vehicle.

      Yeah this made zero sense. If the Cybertruck foregoes crumble zones, Tesla would be rolling back safety standards FOR THE OCCUPANTS by 30 years. How do people not understand this?

      In the EU I believe there are some crash standards that do directly apply to pedestrians.

      Yeah as @TheEvilmooseofdoom notes, it's some EU standards for pedestrians. The Cybertruck has crumple zones, especially since the dashboard is long, even though the hood of the car is short.

    The CyberTruck, if it performs as promised, will be a game changer as would a large Tesla Van for commercial and consumer use. However the Tesla that is going to out sell all Tesla put together is the soon to be built product from Mexico. That will be a car for the masses, price wise, and will be the vehicle that bankrupts some of the current ICE companies. I'd love to have a CyberTruck however spending $60-$70k+ on a vehicle is not in my future. An affordable EV and I'm in. I'm not a "car guy". Give me a reliable, decent performing truck, van or car at a price that isn't $40k+ and I'm in.

      Smh affordable nowadays for a full size crew cab awd truck without crazy power, 4ws or factory 35s like the ct has.
      Is still something in the 50k+range ie the base pro lightning with 240 miles of range and very slow charging on a legacy ice platform. 👍🏻

    I'm thinking that anyone who wants a big car may instead buy a TCT (Tesla Cyber Truck). And police and 3 letter Gov't agencies may swap from the Chebby Tahoe/Denalis to TCTs. And I think that the availability of dozens of styles of wrap to make the TCT look like the person's fave truck or car may sell a =whole= lot more than you think.

    2 million pre orders. It will dominate over other trucks. Has same tech as their cars with refinements, that's how I see it. So it will be good or should be. If not , Why.

    Criticism from the lame stream media is to be expected. Talk, talk, talk, but can't produce anything except words. Kinda like the little brat that squealed on you in grade school. If they actually "DID" something I might re-examine their opinions.
    Like it or not, Elon has a pretty good track record of success. I'm not interested in how long it takes to get into full production. When your this far advanced in manufacturing, engineering, design, facilities construction, etc., I think we all will be happy with the final product. Lead on Elon!

    It's too profitable to hate on Tesla and Musk for media orgs .. and he does like to help them it seems. Its interesting that you didn't mention it having 4 wheel steering and the lack of pass-through, the loss of exoskeleton, and the loss of 500 mile range. 500 mile range is likely a deal breaker for me, I am not excited about that crazy long glaring dashboard and long glass wind sheld ... they are going to make the vehicle very unfriendly to drive as a daily driver.

    CT will be a heap of junk, the tech is good but that stainless stell exterior will be its failing, a wrap might improve the look but the expansion and contraction of the body will eventually lead to weak points and leaking.
