Dwarves in general have beef with the elves, since they are the closest species to reach their life span and so they fight for power usually. Because of this Senshi was influenced by the things his kind told him about elves

There’s some early moments that you can kinda see his racism peaking through, despite how polite and kind he is. It makes sense for a guy to still have those biases, but he very clearly adores Marcille now and sees her as someone he needs to care for too. It’s cool to show that dictomy. Habits and innate biases are hard to shake

@@ma.2089 He was told all his life that elves are evil manipulative chaos-wizards. And I think Marcille playing into half the stereotype helps him distance her from that perception: She is a dark-magic-using chaos-wizard. But she's a dopey, clumsy adolescent who overspeaks and overshares. Because she doesn't hide the first, more egregious element, the latter element is much more believable to someone indoctrinated: A "perfect" elf would likely trigger his defensive responses, since "manipulative" is part of the stereotype, but since she's half the stereotype and it's the "worse" objectively fact half, the social subjective half can break through and let his other feelings, the younglings must be fed, push through.

I think you take on Laios is a little off; he is *very bad* at most details, especially visual ones. Muffler Chilchuck and no-dent Senshi are his. He is pretty okay at remembering things his friends have done and their personalities, especially if it tangentially relates to monsters.
To be clear, the mangaka confirmed list is as follows:
Muffler Chilchuck: Laios. Laios is bad at details.
Fake Tools Chilchuck: Senshi. Senshi has no idea whatsoever how lockpicking tools are supposed to work.
Cute Chilchuck: Marcille. Marcille is also taken to seeing Chilchuck as younger and more agreeable than he is.
No-dent Senshi: Laios. Laios is bad at details.
Fake Tools Senshi: Marcille. Marcille doesn't pay as much attention to Senshi's cooking as the others.
Handsome Senshi: Chilchuck. Half-foots apparently stereotype dwarves as handsome and masculine (similar to how Tallmen think Elves are feminine and beautiful)
Strange Marcille: Senshi. Dwarves don't get along very well with elves and are bad at judging them objectively; this seems true even for Senshi.
Fake Book Marcille: Chilchuck. Chilchuck knows nothing about magic and doesn't want to know anything about magic.
Hair-down cool Marcille: Laios. This is the only Laios-copy to make it to the final three. Marcille's appearance when she resurrected Fallin apparently made an impression on him.
Pretty-Boy Laios: Senshi. Senshi sees Laios as far younger and more feminine than he actually is (as Tallmen are more feminine than dwarves). He actually has difficulty telling Fallin and Laios apart by face.
Crazed Laios: Chilchuck. Chilchuck basically thinks Laios is a lunatic.
Gigantic Laios: Marcille. Apparently Marcille had certain expectations of what Laios looked like based on what Fallin told her (basically like her), and was very surprised to see he was a very large and masculine man (remember elves, including male elves, are typically more feminine than tallmen).

    • @inspektorzeleshka4708
      @inspektorzeleshka4708 17 дней назад +43

Also Marcille spent a lot of time in girls only academy, so Laios is the first male she have seen in a long time, so that's why she sees him like that

We can also see how Chilchuck sees Laios in the prior episode bothering Toshiro. But it’s funny cuz he decided Laios was still harmless compared to Senshi with Maizuru.

I feel like Laios' Senshi&Chilchuck would be pretty close in personality too

    • @Parasolhyena

  • @platinumraven118

So, Fun fact, the Handsome Senshi is Chilchuck's Interpritation. in the manga they reveal tehm ina sidebar page, and apprently Dwarves are very handsome by Halffoot standards. It's why Chilchuck immediately says "He is usually that handsome" The guys in the group simply see Senshi as a handsome and skilled man.
The Mangaka Says that big Laios is actually Marcile's because apparetnyl she was told Laios would look "Just Like Falin" and was imedeatly struck byt the differences in male and female Tallmen because male and female elves are so close to eachother. So that laios has all his masculine traits amplified, the cleft chin, tall, brawny.

Laios, Chilchuk and Senshi are all taller than average among their own races. Since a lot of people think taller guys are attractive, our boys are probably considered quite good looking among their people.
The short lived races tend to look at the long lived races for beauty standards. So half-foots tend to think dwarf characteristics are attractive, just like tallmen tend to find elves characteristics beautiful.
The Japanese word Marcille used to describe handsome Senshi was "kakkoii", which means cool. The author said that Marcille as a girl thinks cool = handsome, while Laios and Chilchuk as guys think cool = strong. That's why the guys said Senshi is always very cool.

  • @FlubbedPig
    @FlubbedPig 18 дней назад +37

Nope, the remaining copies were Chilchuck's Senshi (Half-foot beauty standards are based on Dwarf beauty standards, and therefore he sees Senshi as gruff and handsome), Laios's Marcille (her haggard appearance when doing the black magic to save Falin is fresh in his mind) and Marcille's Chilchuck (while not quite as bad as Senshi, she ALSO thinks Chilchuck is a child). The mangaka made a chart showing who's is who's and what in their perception of each other made each copy the way they were.

  • @standingbylife
    @standingbylife 17 дней назад +22

Laios's interpretations of his friends are pretty spot on despite the technical details.
They even added the detail of his Marcille's spellbook has incorrect grammer, since he only started learning magic.

    • @Chris-hs7vx
      @Chris-hs7vx 17 дней назад +3

To be fair, Chilchuk's version of Marcille is also pretty good, the personality and appearance actually seem closer to the real one than the calm and cool Marcille. It's just that half-foots usually don't learn magic because they don't have enough mana, so he has no idea what she wrote in her spell book. And Laios recently started learning magic, so he has some ideas.

I think the last 3 were
    - Chilchucks Senshi as Laios Senshi was the one without holes in the helmet and Marcille pointed the handsomeness of the current one out
    - Laios' Marcille because he read her spellbook so the copy would probably the one with the best informations on it
    - Marcilles Chilchuck as it was a nicer version of the original, and we got rid of Kid with the lockpicking tools and the muffler one

So here is where each of the fake copies of them come from:
-Tall laois was from Marcille coz when Fallin talked about her brother, marcille always assumed laios to look kinda feminine coz of elves standard so when they first met she was shocked at how different the sibling was
-fake tool Chilchuck and Senshi also from Marcille thru process of elimination
-Handsome Senshi was from Chilchuck coz to half-foot, dwarves are admired to be like the idea masculine beauty
-The serious Marcille is from Laois, he said that was from when Marcille resurrected Fallin and that determined look left a mark on him
-Baby Chilchuck and soft Laois was Senshi’s, as he still cant help but see Chilchuck as a kid and to dwarves all tall-man looked soft and feminine
-The messed up spell book Marcille was from Chilchuck coz he doesnt really understand much about the way magic work
-Crazy eyes Laios was from Chilchuck coz in his mind laios is insane

ultimately the difference between eveeryone ws they could NOT get ovr their subjective viewings of their teammates, leading them to distrust Laios' judgement cause, despite KNOWING he picked their dopplegangers, they couldn't accept the ones thatmatched their personal interpretation of the others to be wrong. (for exmaple, senshi and marcille not beleiving the kid chilchuck was a fake, because they do not realise that chilchuck is a grown ass man)
While Laios isn't good with surface level details, he remembers personality quirks, likely because remmeber things that seem different and unusual, while minor shit like what Chilchuck's wearing escapee his notice. And he remained objective, using what he remembered about everyone to work it out, while also having a realplan beneath that.
this also highlights how little the squad respect laios, thining he would absolutely be wrong ad not trusting him at all because they still don't see how valuable his insight into monsters is. hopefully this is a sobering day for them, a reminder that they're fallible and rely on laios too.

Real Chilchuck's argument: I'm such a cagey bitch I'd never be that honest.
Final Fake Marcille's argument: I'm, like... *super* gay for Falin.
Laios is surprisingly a solid counter to shapeshifters. His perception of his companions is so obscure and unusual that he'll catch the small details while, missing some big ones. At the same time, he's such a weirdo that all copies of him will be super easy to tell apart.
I love this premise though. I want that to be part of a D&D game.

There was actually a page in the manga that explained whose memories made each doppelganger and why.
    - W I D E Laios: Marcille - Falin had always told her that she and Laios were very similar so Marcille was immediately struck by the ways they were different.
    - Crazy Laios: Chilchuck - Chilchuck thinks Laios and his obsession with monsters is dangerous.
    - Soft Laios: Senshi - Laios apparently looks very feminine by dwarf standards.
    - Baby Chilchuck: Senshi - Senshi still sees him as a child.
    - Baby-face Chilchuck: Marcille - She knows factually that he's not an actual baby but still kind of sees him that way.
    - Muffler Chilchuck: Laios. He's not good at noticing subtle details outside of his own hyperfixations.
    - Ugly Marcille (apparently known in Japan as American Marcille): Senshi. He heard horror stories about the elf/dwarf war as a child and this is his first time interacting with one for any significant period of time.
    - Hair-down Marcille: Laios - That's how she looked when she was reviving Falin, an image that he will never forget.
    - Anime mom braid Marcille: Chilchuck - he has a thing for blondes so he overemphasized Marcille's hairstyle.
    - Intact helmet Senshi: Laios - same reason as his perception of Chilchuck; he's not good at subtle physical details.
    - Gigachad Senshi: Chilchuck. By half-foot standards, dwarves are the epitome of masculinity.
    - I forget what was distinctive about the remaining Senshi, or the reason behind it, but by process of elimination it's Marcille's.

@@TheJeSTeR7530disagree. I have ADHD myself (inattentive type) and Laios acts nothing like it, nor does he act with the combined or hyperactive traits. He’s shown no significant difficulties with memory, and his only real lapse in attention was when he was starving during their very first red dragon fight. On the other hand his traits read as VERY autistic to me - what looks like stimming, very significant hyperfixation, discomfort with certain clothes (shown in extra material), even the way it seems to run in his family (Falin stacks rocks!). Even the way he solved the shapeshifters in this episode was filtered through his hyperfixation on monsters. But that’s the way I see it.

The shapeshifter is a Tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog), not a Kitsune (fox).
Since ancient times in Japan, a Tanuki have been positioned as yokai that transform themselves to ridicule and deceive people, and are regarded as rivals to foxes, which share the same role.
Tanuki are often depicted with plump faces when they are deformed, the shapeshifter is drawn with a slim face, so it looks like a fox at first glance, I think that Kui sensei, who is obsessed with the modeling of living creatures, drew a realistic tanuki, which is why she drew a tanuki with a slim face.

Marcile's Laios is the tall one, because he clshed that heavilly with her assumptions reharding how falin described him. Chilchuck's not STUPID, but he has such a low interpretation of laios that he thinks he's at best an idiot and at worst a lunatic, leading to the 'derpy looking' laios.
Laios' chilchuck was the first one they take out, the one wearing the wrong clothes, as is the senshi with the wrong helmet. Laios isn't good at FINE details at least in reagards to other humans.
Handsoe senshi is CHILCHUCK'S senshi because everyone knows how handsome and sexy senshi is.
the final fake marcille, who said she'd do anything for falin, was laios' marcille beecause she's based on how he saw her when she reurected fain.

@@tschernobog19 Maybe I guess, but Izutsumi is not that interested in anyone romantically speaking, I'll be general so I'm not spoiling anything by accident, but she seems to have more of a family connection to the party

@@luisjauregui2197 That's pretty much the entire manga, except for maybe Lycion and Fleki and even then it seems to be more of a casual fling

Tallman age of maturity is 16 so I guess in terms of the story/world it would work? Though Izutsumi is not really interested anyways lol

Maybe because it's a boring series for children and mentally stunted individuals?

Because a slot hasn't opened up yet, probably. And because they aren't very big fans of Demon Slayer. You could tell during Season 3 that they weren't really enjoying it. They even did the thing where, since they were frustrated, bored, and jaded at the series, they started disparaging it for things they used to want it to do. Like how when Nezuko started talking, they complained about it, despite wanting her to do so all of the previous seasons. Once the Bros reach that point, it's no use, they can be pretty stubborn and shift their opinions specifically to find ways to justify their dislike.
I don't blame them, the anime has been getting worse and worse. last season was plagued with pacing and production problems and this season had like 3 good episodes and a ton of filler. The manga's just infinitely better.
