Great detail in your video. It’s definitely a process building a garage like that. I have a ways to go on mine still but every step is a victory. I did a Timelapse of them building mine and agree it’s flabbergasting watching it back when you see how efficient those builders can be.
I wish you were close to me. It would have been nice to see this thing being built. I am planning on something like this but on a much smaller scale. These east KY skies are beautiful. GOD Bless.
I have been watching from the early 1 car garage. I remember the frame repair on the toyota truck. Anyways, I am really happy for you and satisfied to see you doing well. Plus I love the garage content. As always , thank you.
Thanks a lot!! It has been a wild ride and am glad you stuck around for it! Very close to having this garage finished work on it almost every day sp there will be some more videos very soon
Construction videos are magnets for advice and dissent , so,,,,, it here comes . i would have placed my poles into the existing compacted slope and then built a three sided concrete wall on the inside perimeter of the posts .then added fill and compacted it throughly in stages . this would create a a stronger condition for the poles and the slab would be be on a more stable base . other than that , very nice build .👍
Thanks for the feedback! I took the gamble with this current setup but feel confident in the current base being extremely sturdy, as long as i mitigate water runoff from the drains which I am doing. Time will tell, but a year in and there is no movement. The base dirt has been sitting for almost 2 years now
just found your channel & I'm glad I did. I'm not too far from you I am in Madisonville. I am finalizing my plans for my 40x40 i hope it looks as nice as yours. Going to start binge watching i'm sure it has changed since this video!
Do the spray foam next time, bit more expensive. But it will tighten up the hole building and soundproof it. And incredible efficiency when cooking or heating
Awesome job on the progress with everything including recovery. Crazy how much your channel has grown. Years ago when I got into headlight retrofiting I watched your Mazda video. Then I bought an S2k and noticed you had one too. Well, last November I purchased an 05 tundra double cab and saw your name on the Facebook group and thought damn how cool is that. Awesome car choices and cool content.
Bad concrete pours can be devastating. Good concrete usually sets the tone for the rest of the project. Never ever cut corners on the slab it’ll be a problem forever.
You’ll have cracks, guaranteed. There’s no stopping it from cracking. That’s why the relief cuts are there. They help to create a spot for the cracks to form, instead of having the cracks running wherever they want.
What pitch roof is that? It looks to me your trusses are about a 6/12 over 3/12. That truss when combined with about a 13' wall height gives you enough room for a mezzanine on the opposite side of your planned lift. You'd then have extra room to store parts and/or some office/video space or maybe just a place to chill with a TV, couch, and a fridge full of your favorite beverage!
Hey there bud, just came across your channel, I'm getting ready to build a shop/man cave 54x112x16 for some car storage, I have also been slowly buying all the incidentals that it will take for the last three years. It's been a real process to try and find a piece of property! I'm going to be putting in floor heat and 6 lifts, a small office, bathroom and utility room. I already have several tool boxes and numerous storage cabinets. I'm really looking forward to the process this spring, it will be a post frame type building very similar to yours. Everything is looking really good. I would highly suggest to at least seal the concrete to protect it! Take care and don't work too hard!
You would do that method if you had it "stick built" with 2x4s. With a "pole building" the foundation is the poles themselves and the concrete "floats"
Haha don't judge a book by its cover! I'm fortunate and work in digital marketing for an automotive aftermarket company. However, all of my cars I currently have id never imagine I'd own 10 years ago. Consistently buying cars that go up in value and buying our first house is what has made this possible today. First house we bought went up in value significantly and later sold
Skip to 02:57 to jump right into the content! Super excited to start sharing this build! More videos to come
Love your description of the crew working and how awesome it is to watch real skill at work. I’m with you it’s absolutely a beautiful thing.

I have a time-lapse of almost the entire process that I'll share in future videos! Thanks a lot for watching glad you liked it!
Definitely a very nice edition And look forward to many videos from the new garage.
Thanks a lot Larry! I appreciate it
Garage looks good. I like the black ceiling.

That's fantastic, Mike! Congrats!!
Thanks a lot! It has been a long time coming for sure
Love the red bronco.
Nice job Mike. Very proud of you
Thanks Mr Batt!!

Haha no way!! Thanks for watching (again) 😎
Well done brother 👏
Great Vid. Thanks for the content. I like how the trusses are recessed up for more clearance for the lift. Keep uploading, great stuff cheers
Thanks!!

The pout from a structural standpoint is great, however the finish work was terrible! Knock on wood I have had no cracks

I believe you are correct on the rood pitch. That's exactly my plan for the loft!
Nice Holden Commodore. G'day from Australia. 👋 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
No rebar in the concrete floor...... Bad idea....

Awesome! Thanks for watching. I need to take it easy this garage has been a grind
Looks good
Lol. You should have just said, “I wrote a check….that’s the only step..”😂
I’m surprised that you didn’t use rebar or 4x4 or 6x6 mesh screens?
The concrete has fibermesh in it, which doesn't need rebar
great video ! What type of dirt did you install for the base.? I can't find it.
Most people call it crusher run/crusher mix. Its dirt and crushed concrete/rocks
That concrete will be fine
Thanks! Structurally I think we are good its just not visually appealing
I would have done concrete in front of the garage the sun heats that up it stinks kinda like rail road ties
Black ceiling what were you thinking
Thinking about having a nice looking garage 💯
Sounds like it would have been better to do the metal on the building. Would have kept the rain out and maybe could have put some heat in
Nice work! what type of insulation did you use and where did you get it. Thanks
4ft wide rolls from a company called "Bay insulation". Custom ordered the size I needed and they delivered it to the house!
How deep did you have into your pocket?
Kentucky? I’m from Louisville.
How much? Cost break down please 👍🤠
Great shop whats leaking on the vette I have the same one no leaks though?
Rear main seal and oil pan, the vette had 170k miles haha
@@Garagetopics My 99 has 36K
I see the name on your concrete truck IMI. Are you located near Tippecanoe County? I'm from Lafayette
Na I'm in Kentucky!
Watch, big enough?
How much
Why didn't you pour the slab first then erect the building..??
You would do that method if you had it "stick built" with 2x4s. With a "pole building" the foundation is the poles themselves and the concrete "floats"
Literally
What the heck do you do for a living! That’s what I’m wondering! I want your life 😅
