Man, how friggen cool is it that someone can make random videos about their vehicles and turn that hobby into such a life changing endeavour. Congrats man
Man I live in a HOA and they can be total a-holes good luck can t wait to see I just bought a 2021 chevy trail boss already put in Rough Country bed cover, bed mat, and brake caliper covers (red) look cool!
Your dad is so awesome ! It explains why you’re the man you are today. Would love to see an episode where you interview him and he talks about his life and upbringing.
in 2021 i had a 26x50 shop built. it was 6" concrete, 2x6 construction OSB inside and out, 10 windows, 12' walls. vinyl siding outside and tin on the inside, fully insulated, along with a NG heater. $115K. that was during the OSB shortage with crazy prices. now im kinda glad i didn't wait. good luck buddy, you'll love it when it's done!!
Enjoyed this series. One pointer you might want to install a few extra sleeves under the driveway prior to placing concrete. It is super cheap to do and can save a ton in the future. I know I have used the extra sleeves years down the road that I didn't think I needed.
One thing that is the best fill is flyash, I used in my shop 26 years ago , and used 5,600 psi concrete, 24x36 pad, no expansion joints cut, and still no cracks in floor had 3/4 and 1 ton trucks on it regularly power trawling so super smooth floor, so floor Jack can push trucks around and creepers run great, flyash is used as underneath the interstates high ways, they used to give it away, now charge for it as great base , it is what is left from coal fired power plants, water runs right through it and doesn’t stick to shoes or tires, I also have clay base here
Dude the nabor that you lived by in Hawaii is truly a star his story made me cry. And I’m 42 years young . And congratulations iv been with you since you had 842 followers this is truly remarkable and inspiring to me
If there a time in the future where you have replace or run new water lines under the drive don’t sweat it. For a few hundred bucks or less, a compact horizontal driller can drill under an existing drive and pull the new line for you. I did it myself and it was quick, easy and with virtually no mess to clean up.
Brother, I am so excited and on the edge of my seat to watch this come together. I’m a newer subscriber but am all caught up on the videos. Congratulations on the 100k accomplishment. Congrats on your dream shop and keep up the hard work and quality content. You have one of the best channels out there. I’m so looking forward to seeing this get done
I'd recommend using funny pipe or any flexible pipe when you go under the drive way. PVC is really brittle and rigged, and the dirt around it provides support to prevent it from bursting under pressure. Flexible pipes are more resilient in those situations.
Awesome glad you were able to work around the paper work to get it done. I have been working on getting my shop done as well it is a great feeling to see it come tougher. Keep up the great work 👍
This is going to be so much fun!! I've got my pad prepped and just waiting to start drilling my piers for my 60x120x16 shop/man cave!! Your shop is looking amazing!!
No slab treatment? Why only 4 inches? I literally laid out exactly what you should do along with mix design for concrete and this is just not at all what you would do, especially if you are going to have lifts and equipment.
It’s coming together ! Took a lot of inspiration from your videos and finally uploaded my first one ! 🙏🏽👍🏼 I hope others find confidence and inspiration in your videos as well 👍🏼🙏🏽
So exciting. Love watching the progress. If I still lived in that area I’d be there helping. Left TX 15 yrs ago. Don’t miss the weather, but miss the people. You’ve came so far with this channel. Way to go. Know I’m wishing I was still there from Reno, NV.
Congrats on breaking ground. This will be an amazing shop. I can't wait to see how it turns out. You must be ecstatic seeing this happen in your backyard.
This is actually crazy! I came back on this channel yesterday for the first time in a while to see if the shop build had started. A day later and this pops up on my main page 🤯
Congrats!!! Looking forward to seeing your dream shop built! I’m in North Texas too and I’m at the beginning stages of planning my workshop build. It will be about 1/2 the size of your shop, but enough room to do some fun work!
Congratulations! Can’t wait to see the progress. Love the channel. You’ve inspire me to makeover our garage and it went flawlessly. My wife loved helping too win/win.
Greetings from GA, Congrats on the many well earned victories on the road to building your own shop!!! This video appeared on my recommended page just as I was considering REVISITING the idea of having my own custom shop built in my backyard...I also have challenges just like you, HOA, etc. I look forward to watching the progress as it unfolds.
I know exactly what you're going through and the excitement you're feeling. I'm one year into building my shop. Just finished painting. Much smaller at 24x30, but still into it for $80K (Canadian).
@@troyqueen9503 No. That was one of the nice to haves that I left out. I would have liked that, a 6" concrete curb under my walls, and 12' walls rather then 10, but it's all $$$. I have the junction box outside for a heat pump.
Man, how friggen cool is it that someone can make random videos about their vehicles and turn that hobby into such a life changing endeavour. Congrats man
Hope at some point you can do RUclips full time job
I agree
It all starts with a good foundation and that foundation looks well built. Can’t wait to see this shop come together
Contrats! Always fun watching someone achieve their dreams. Thanks for taking us along for the ride
Thanks to the fat greedy pig bankers and their rotten system, achieving our dreams in this country is near impossible. What a great system.
SHOP BUILD!!! Congrats on getting the next chapter started. Can’t wait to see it finished and how empty your garage is going to be.
Might end up being a basketball court until I can afford to fill it up 😂 we are going to be broke for a while after this project
Completely understand. I’m about to put a 30x40 “shop” in my backyard. The price was eye opening for sure.
Shops are not cheap like they used to be
Man I live in a HOA and they can be total a-holes good luck can t wait to see I just bought a 2021 chevy trail boss already put in Rough Country bed cover, bed mat, and brake caliper covers (red) look cool!
Oh and I live between Waco and Austin!

Look at those forms 😍
No 2 post car lift with 4 inch pad, need 6 inch min. Can still use 4 post lift. Looks awesome.
Pumped to see this go up! I have one problem though. I'm obsessed with the song at 18:42 -- what is it?

I'm really confused on why you had to dig out that PVC pipe? I would've just left it in the ground and buried more when the project was over.

Did you put radiant heat in your slab ?
