Don’t you wish those inspectors were around when they built the front of your house? Homeowners get milked for every penny and hack builders get free passes if you grease city hall employees palms enough.
Are you putting any plumbing in the building? Sink, bathroom?
I see in your future, you running a business fixing/upgrading other people's vehicles in that garage. And hiring 3 other people..... like those brothers the Goonzsquad who grew through upgrading/repairing vehicles to blowing up building a garage/work shop..
HOA's in Texas are fine, as long as those who buy within the Community read the rules before hand. It's pretty much spelled out what you can and cannot do. That being said, its good that you were able to work it out with them even if it did require brick facade.
This man is out here living my dreams! Hope to some day have the rides and home ad great as yours. I gotta say, I love it when people move to Texas and work their butts off and put their own hard work into things. Keep up the hard work man! 💪
Me and my dad have been trying to put up a 40x60 shop ourselves for the past 2 months and man it was easy getting the framework done but the sheet metal and insulation is such a pain to do with just two people
If you need advice just holler at me. I have done several buildings
Just get a couple of the amigos in front of Home Depot n case of modelos it’ll be done in a day
do you watch any rr buildings? they do a lot of 2 person pole barns, might be some tips in their videos.
Sounds like you need to throw a Saturday BBQ and have your friends bring there tools.
Living with a HOA must be a nightmare.
Let's go man! Can't wait to see your shop all built and put together. I'm sure it'll be amazing
HOA's are the absolute worst..Side Note Go Live on the concrete pour and just let it play. That'll be cool to watch.
All of those regulations the HOA imposed on you couldve been avoided if yall didn't have one, vote them out! It's Bull shit how some people think they can control other people and what they do on their property
Stop calling them "formers". They are correctly pronounced as "Forms" 🙄
I'm building a shop right now. Pouring concrete footing Friday. It's only a 26x26 but that's enough for me right now to build my dream space!
It’s going to be beautiful but why , why in an HOA 😬 I could never.
HOA's just suck-0- why choose one especially in TX
Next time raise the bolt template enough, so your cement finishers can float underneath it.
ADD A DRAINAGE INSIDE IF YOU WANT TO POWERWASH YOUR VEHICLES
Bru I'd be so mad they rlly showed up inspected one thing and was like o yea this thing that obviously would also be here but ypu didn't also ask for cannot be inspected I'll have to take more of ur time a diff day
😂literally what I said.
Long time watcher.
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
Congratulations
Man this is why I made sure I wasn't in an HOA. I barely want to deal with the city let alone some HOA busy body.
Absolutely can’t wait to see the slabs poured……. You got this !!!!!
I remember when my old man put up the shop at the house I still live in back in 1983. I was around the same age as your kids are now and still remember vividly playing in all the construction equipment and supplies. I guarantee they'll never forget this buddy!
Hey man watch the channel pretty often originally found you because of the Silverado and installing the borla exhaust, and excuse me for personal questions I’m just kinda exploring options, I’m currently 18 years old working in the union as a pile driver it’s a well paying job but it really isn’t for me and I always see your vehicles, house, and now shop and I have similar goals in my future, so if you don’t mind me asking what do or did you do outside of RUclips because currently I’m kinda hung up on a career path and I’m trying to get myself started off as early as I can so I can get on a path to enjoy the automotive hobby and still be able to provide for a family and everything it’s a task but Ik it’s possible so if you see this any input would be appreciated, thank you
Took an entry-level job on the frontline of a big CPG company. Started on a truck driving and delivering overnight and over 9 years, i've been able to work my way up through the organization. Started making RUclips videos 6 years ago on the weekends to see where I could take it. Lots of hard work, lots of patience has got me here and anyone else can do the same. If you don't believe me, go check out one of the videos from 5-6 years ago 😂
@@LonestarHawaiian thanks for the comment man means a lot I thought about just starting somewhere where I enjoy the work and working my way up I mean we all gotta start somewhere, my issue now is I’m just not enjoying it and if I don’t enjoy it the drive to move up isn’t there I don’t expect my dreams to happen instantly cause Ik that ain’t happening but I’m just looking for a start thank you man it’s good to know that I don’t have to get lucky because I think I’ve always had this mindset that I need to know what I want and I can’t seem to figure that out😂 thanks again
First thing never move into HOA.....
Money, money, money, X20. bragging, bragging, bragging, X20. It would be nice just like the other RUclipsrs in which they explain the process and show more progress. Most we see is you bragging and complaining on how much you're gonna spend on concrete, whatever whatever whatever.... Duh if we all know it's a huge shop. Of course it's going to be costly. Less talk more progress. Keep it humble Mr. Aloha
I absolutely don’t understand why people continue to move into communities who are hyper-governed by HOAs. Eventually they’re going to be a liability to selling your home.
Bro for a hawaiian I seen your Instagram page out of my 3k friend/followers and your 18k followers only 2 of ym friends are mutual to you lol😅😅😅 I’m still trying to see how you even know about our island lol
Braddah still waiting on confirmation on how you got your whole name project molokai?? Started sharing this videos with the locals no one here knows you ??😅😅😅😅
No bathroom in the shop???
I’ve never heard good things about HOA…. Anywhere…. I’d rather be homeless than deal with that crap. You’re a stronger man than me, sir.
Imagine having to get approval to build something on YOUR land. smh..
All the long hard shafts
WHERE IS YOUR CONCRETE POUR VIDEO?
Last video was 10 days ago?
Cheeee buddy! I’ve built three shops with my dad and the most recent was all block and I have to say, it’s the way to go if you ever do another one.
I've been working on my shop 30x40 for 2yrs!
I have been a follower of yours for years now and It’s so nice to see how far you’ve come!! Congratulations on your success and to the future of your channel!!
Backing cars into an attached garage contaminates the living space. Terrible for air quality.
Man I absolutely love you're channel man super excited to see all the work transform into greatness
Dude why are you saying formers??? Like don't use a word if you have no clue what it means
Congrats man excited to see this finally happening for you!!! It be all be sooo worth it in the end!!
40'×50' is 2,000 and your cover says 4000
4k sqft of concrete. Shop is 2k of that
Maybe I missed this answer in a previous video and hopefully this crossed your mind but why is there NO floor drainage installed in either slab? Being able to wash and detail all those vehicles in a controlled environment is a game changer. Anyhow congrats to you and the family on your success! Mahalo!
I’ve always washed my vehicles outside and I wanted a l100% level floor in the shop. I can always squeegee out water but I’ll probably continue washing just outside the shop. The driveway has a low slope the the left side where water will run down the drainage easement of the property.
i would think bricking it to match your house not to mention it should make it handle the bad weather better and could help keep it more insulated.
I don’t know anything about what’s going on brotha but it looks good. Can’t wait for the next vid
reinforcing corners is the best thing! they give out the most
that HOA guy wants your shop built so he can use it as well or to have to work on his projects too lol
Go into a neighborhood with no HOA and you will thank your HOA.
Waiting on the next. Taking in account permit issues lol.
One car guy dreaming of his future garage to another; I'm happy for you. I'm curious though. Did they make you have the bottom of the anchor bolts in each location facing a different direction from each other?
I shifted them before the pour. The main thing was to have a good amount of concrete surrounding the entire bolt. But they are so massive it’ll likely not make a difference.
👍
I just had a 30x80 slab done for my shop last week in South texas and damn am I happy I'm out of city limits. This slab is crazy! 🤣😂🤣 It def. Won't b going anywhere anytime soon tho!
Will you have AC. In this building?
Great video. Music…. is not gonna be for everyone.
Looking good! One step closer!!!
Heck yea man!! I can’t wait to see it done
Should talk to durrrtymax Jack. He has a wicked pole building and did most of it with a couple buddies. Basically what you’re down. Get some good ideas on what he did for yours. Been watching you for years now. Keep it up!
Not watching but 40 x 50 is 2000 sq ft. Or am i wrong. Not 4k being advertised?
4k sqft of concrete. Shop foundation is 2,000 of that
Cheee living the dream! Born and raised on Oahu but currently living in Dallas now and this is goals! Keep it going man!
🤙🏽🤙🏽
i am just about finished building my 40x60 gambrel, its been an everyday job since january, i really wish i would have just paid someone to build it
I subscribe a couple years ago for the Silverado………now u got my full attention for this shop…I was so happy when u got 100k subscribers…now it’s time to see all ur hard work come together
damn....only mad it to 45 seconds into this video and dont even want to go further..
a garage/shop costing $345k....yea thats nothing im needing to witness....thats actually robbery if i ever seen it put in paper form
nobody should be paying $50k for a simple ass 40x50x6in slab.....gtfoh, your rebar made out of titanium or gold? or did they sprinkle 24k gold flake into the finish?....where is that ungodly price tag coming from, cause thats more than a product of Bidens economy
$345k was the general contractor quote which is why I’m now doing it on my own. I’m estimating I’ll be ~$120k when I’m done
@@LonestarHawaiian THAT sounds like a more reasonable and respectable cost for that...i understand thats one unit of a shop....but still that first price tag was insanity. hope you finish it better than what you were gonna have them do for you.
The amount of regulation and inspections / red tape to do this work, on top of having to do all that engineering is just crazy. I get it, you can’t just have people putting up buildings but it’s absolutely brutal when you have to call them out multiple times to “inspect” when they are literally right there. lol
Sadly, it's needed. The amount of crappy contractors is unreal.
I few hours of inspection is way better for the community then having the fire department come out
Great progress!! Can’t wait for concrete
Always majorly saving my life motivational to me .... Salute , Blessings to everyone grind , motivations ......
And you have to brick the outside 😂
Long time Silverado owner. Just last week purchased a 2023 trail boss and have been binge watching all your videos. Congratulations on the garage!!
Man I'm so jealous, you're ahead of me with the progress of the building! My builder keeps pushing me out, still waiting for the piers to be installed, well at least the building pad is ready to go. In the mean time I have been sanding my propane tank getting ready to paint it this week, O' did I mention it's around 100 out every day!! I'm also trying to trench for my power and water lines. On my water line, I have to go around a huge tree trying to miss any large roots. Good luck with the concrete pour!!
THis dude only has one pace and that is kicking ass
Coming along slowly but surely... I'm excited for you... Keep up the great work, look forward to seeing more progress shortly....
I guess you and your wife have had that conversation "Honey, we are never moving from here"...... Right?
Project moloka’i? I’ve never seen you on molokai born and raised here you have family here? @lonestarHawaiian
Those L-bolts seem wayyyyy oversized for that shop. Also the depth of your piers seem awful deep too? Especially for the DFW area. Are you consulting an engineer on this?
Engineered slab. The bolts they sent out were oversized accidentally but they footed the bill for the larger bolts.
@@LonestarHawaiian Yeah, Guess it won't hurt. LOL.
Hope you have enough projection of your anchor bolts. Double check the shim / grout space under the base plate plus the base plate thickness plus top nut thickness versus your projection.
sucks to see your contractor didnt leave the topsoil he stripped, you will be paying for topsoil to be moved twice lol still probably needed some extra anyways. im sure hes happy on that end of the contract, or whom ever got the finish grading.
Great attention to detail on your "concrete pour" for our garage and driveway!
how's are full of bloated bureaucracy!
Well done!
Hey man it’s been awesome following you since I was a teen and you were back at your old place and just from what you show I think I might be a few minutes out from ya! Keep up the great work!!!
Strange, the outbuilding next door doesn't have brick....Gotta love those HOAs.
@@LonestarHawaiian Of course! Nice work so far. It'll be so worth it once you're done. Looking forward to the next installment!
I just wanna say your a good dude. YOu have no facade your just you anf thats the best part. You dont try to be cool which is so refreshing. I envy your great life bro.
im sorry but you could not pay me to live in a hoa
How wide and deep were your footings?
Love your huge lot!
Congratulations man wonderful family you guys are blessed hard work breeds success been following since the trail boss
Ive been watching your stuff for a while and I have to say I'm happy for you. Hope all goes well in the next steps.
Omg! That’s me! Your video looks amazing ☺️
Looks great! Assuming no water lines/drains in the shop? Would be nice to have a shop sink at least
Happy for you bro.
Dude so proud of all the growth you have gathered. I remember when I stumbled upon you when trying to trouble shoot my 09 Silverado. Keep it up!
what part of Texas do you live in would live to do some content together
You should get some chickens
All that space and no floor drain in the front for a detailing bay inside?! Going to be awesome either way.
No plumbing or shop dunny?
Your house is bolted down also.
luckily for RUclips
This is going to be such a bad ass shop. Your garage will become a ghost town after the shop is done.
Let's go!
I like your video,s🎉🎉
😊😊
How many people on the hoa committee did you give access to use the garage to get it approved?
Why no bathroom in the shop?
What about faux brick?
WHAT THE NAME OF THE METALBUILDING COMPANY ?
M2 Steel Systems
Coming along!
